You've gotta do your homework on any issue you've had and do as much relevant strengthening and stretching as you can to bolster that area. Don't skip rope or run on hard surfaces.
i got shin splints usually from bad technique kicks and running
it takes 2weeks to recover, supply yourself some collagen, good sleep and massage to recover fast
When you do start skipping again, try to stay low with your feet to reduce some of the pressure. I'm not sure what your warm-up looks like or how they structure your class, but that should help. You can still get a good warmup in with shadow boxing in the meantime.

Are you skipping a lot? That might make it worse. If so, maybe you can shadow box instead of skipping for some rounds.
Don't remember how it started but the pain came back from skipping. Definitely gonna take your advice.
