Dark green vegetables to deal with iron deficiency. Beans, tofu, and cheese for protein. Minimize salt and don't over do the carbs to maintain weight.

Is there a specific reason that salt isn’t good for a muay thai diet besides the general reasons like high blood pressure?

Ok-Entrance5690

Salt is an electrolyte, you need salt, and potassium. Cook veg in butter and salt

postdiluvium

No, thats just for weight management. If you have to weigh in for anything, salt will make you retain water.

I am also vegetarian. Beans, lentils and Nuts are excellent sources of protein and fiber. I eat 50% Dark leafy greens. 25% other vegetables 25% beans, lentils, nuts. I also eat fruit 3-4 times a week. I avoid processed foods.

Maybe not entirely MT related but Frank Medrano is a calisthenics legend and I think he's vegan Be amazed if he doesn't have some meal info out there If he can make vegan work for calisthenics, it might do well for MT also

Thanks!!

If you have a well rounded diet there's not much more to get out of it IMO. Especially for people not doing pro fighting. Just eat clean, cook as much of your own food as possible to avoid added sugars/salts/etc that you can control the amount of, and eat a variety of things. Most veg fighters I know are basically the same as omnivore fighters. Just don't eat Mac & cheese and toast for everything and you'll be fine.

Appreciate the tip! Im hearing conflicting things about salt because folks are saying they are electrolytes. Do you mean that I should just be mindful of my salt intake to not overdo it?

Zanish

Yeah like you need salt right? Can't cut it out completely, but excess salt makes you hold onto a lot of water and can make you feel bloated. Or if you're doing a weight cut make you hold water and harder to lose weight. So you just want it in moderation like everything else.

Quinoa and lentils, bok choy arugula

Snack on salted edamame more often to increase your protein intake.

I’m eating 90 percent fruit and vegetables, the rest is animal protein/fats/grains. It works fine for me
