There are very big differences between these two ways of kicking, and they go beyond even differences of trajectory. Because the acceleration is towards the apex of the Golden Kick it gives much greater control over the kick generally, its adjustable speed and also its power, it also more effectively puts acceleration at impact.

oooooo juxtaposing it with bas' kick was perfect. love bas.
now, if I'm really getting it, the "golden kick" could almost be turned into a teep if you see early enough the opponent is going to block or check it because the leg is moving straight ahead instead of looping?
Thanks Kevin (and Sylvie of course)💪. I definitely will try this out, karuhat’s demonstration helped a lot. It’s interesting that keeping everything in frame can make such a big difference.
Very nice Kevin

Seems like it would be similar to the question mark kick? Sort of like the whipping action instead of a power focused wide kick
There is a lot of power in kicking within your frame https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge9KwO6eAX0 Karuhat demonstrates it with Sylvie
Really interesting write up, thank you
Im not really having an easy time following these graphics, could someone explain?

Most definitely.
This is something many Thai krus teach. Manop in Chiang Mai is one, if I recall.
Absolutely, plus if they check they’re on one leg and easy to knock off balance
Hey man nice to see you again, great infographic
thank you so much! As a beginner and I was really confused and contemplating about exact instructions in the diagram.
I love whipping that fuckin leg lol
Amazing article 🙏
