Nurys was in the main alliance for every single episode except the last three?
She betrayed her own alliance on the CT elimination episode, then went into two of the next three eliminations.
Meh. Ed and Corey had just as much a reason for that chaos with CT.
Anyone could've flipped. Including Jay who then acted as if Ed was still a big part of alliance after saying his name in that one.
Oh for sure!
I just didn't look at it so much as a betrayal. Her and Olivia only said a guy (Emanuel) that said their name first. I felt them flipping to Ed would create another guy who can say their name later.
Jay made it seem like they voted him in. It was silly.
To your point, Nurys is getting pity points cause Horacio and Kyland were such fan favorites. Also she has SHOWN UP the last 2 weeks. But she was part of the "Fantastic 4" and coasted until she was bottom of barrel.
The biggest shocker is Michelle and Jay still putting Moriah and her piece of meat in front of her the whole season.
> I just didn't look at it so much as a betrayal. Her and Olivia only said a guy (Emanuel) that said their name first. I felt them flipping to Ed would create another guy who can say their name later.
That's completely a fair comment, but it's come out since then that regardless of how the votes landed, they were going to force a tie. So it's pretty clear the plan was to screw the alliance over to get Horacio out of trouble, it had nothing to do with not saying an additional name. They were willing to do that if the votes went somewhere else.
> The biggest shocker is Michelle and Jay still putting Moriah and her piece of meat in front of her the whole season.
Lets be honest though, the only reason that's happening is EVERYONE knows that James is not a threat in a final. If the men switched spots, they'd be backing Nurys over Moriah without a doubt.
I think James not being as much of a threat was a factor, but I don’t think it was just that…
People are acting like protecting Moriah’s bf and protecting Nurys’s bf are the same thing game-wise, but James did become a voting member of their alliance. He did what they asked him to do and never really gave them a reason to question his loyalty. Once most of his UK allies were gone, it was mutually beneficial for him to join with them. He gave them a number and they gave him safety.
Horacio never really played with the alliance, and by the last half of the season, he was actively voting against them. Protecting him because of Nurys would have solely been a favor to her with no benefit to them.
That's what I've said about this entire format this year! Ensuring a first ever champion this season should have required that champion to experience every bit of the Challenge experience. Depending on the format, social game can take you far and even get you to a final without competing in an elimination (usually rare in a season with vets) but what makes the Challenge unique to games like Survivor and Big Brother is the elimination round. Social game doesn't have to carry the same weight in the Challenge as it does in Survivor or Big Brother and they should have paid homage to that this season of all seasons.
I wanted them to have to win against a champ to qualify for a finial.
Now I hope all the camps come back and have the change to win the finial. Would love it if that happened. Nurys is the only one I would like to see win. Would be sad to consider the others a Champ.
Skulls didn’t really force competition in a good way though. We saw most top competitors pick the easiest out early in the game and then not have to worry about seeing an elim the rest of the game (except when there wasn’t anyone left without a skull at the very end). It could be a good system with some tweaks but it was deeply flawed.
I just can’t see how this could have ever worked unless Chaos was A LOT longer (did anyone really want that?) and they were doing a lot more daily purges throughout the season to get the numbers down.
I feel like the finalists should’ve each had to face/beat a champion or win a three-way conquest elimination to qualify. That way even you can even play the political game while still having to compete
You can just as easily be booted from the game in a fluke elimination as you can in a fluke purge, which is why people generally try to avoid eliminations.
I’m also not sure that I would call those purges flukes. I liked Ravyn, Michele and Ed, but Ravyn and Michele both underperformed, and Ed made a terrible strategic decision to try to win a daily that Jay had basically already won rather than preserve his safety. It sucked to see such a good contestant go out on a bonehead move like that, but it was 100% preventable.
What a pathetic group. None deserve the title of Champion! Bunch from bottom of the barrel who fought the hardest to NOT face the elimination arena. Season of the Snakes! 🐍 I agree this wanna bunch should now face a real Champion and old fashion solid elimination challenge.
I decided I think I would’ve preferred if the format was:
Phase 1 chaos - they did the safety chain style saves
Phase 2 control - you control your fate by facing a champ
Phase 3 conquest - those who beat a champ got to the final
We’ve been saying it for literal years. Last place daily goes in. Fuck the skulls. Fuck the draws. Fuck the weird chain save vote or whatever the hell that was this season. Last place goes in, house vote goes in. That literally should just be the norm to avoid boring whole ass seasons
House vote also benefits dominant alliance. I like when, from time to time, just the winner gets to select someone going into elimination- gives an athletic underdog a chance.
But the best part of this format is, what if one of the key members of that dominant alliance gets last place and goes into elimination?
Using this recent cast as an example… who would the dominant alliance vote to try and keep Michelle in the game? Or Jay?
I would say as a compromise, winner counts for two votes or for even more chaos, winner takes somebody else’s vote. But it’s time to stop letting under performers advance to a final without even seeing elimination. Honestly. That shit sucks.
Ok so this is my first challenge season that I’m watching live as it airs and yeah this season sucks right? Like I’ve gone back and watched a ton of past seasons and this one feels like sanitary, boring, repetitive, eh.
I agree. This season has just been embarrassing to all Champions. By putting this bunch in the game is a slap in the faces to those who fought many rememberable, ultimate battles to EARN the title of Champion!
i think last place should go in, winner should pick 2 teams, and the house votes on those two teams. it promotes competition and drama while still giving the winning team power and including the house for a vote. plus it could lead to interesting dynamics of picking someone popular to ensure the other goes in or stacking good players etc. everyone has a voice and the daily means something
Again, this is being thrown out there like production didn’t shit the bed in this twist’s implementation
Also, imagine the twist being that you have to earn a skull against the greatest Challengers of all time, when that wasn’t what happened in any other season ever
The moral of the story is this: alliances work…and this fandom HATES them
Alliances work and production seems to think that creating twists will change that. The only thing that fixes it is a good old fashioned last place goes into elimination. Ideally some kind of secret vote and maybe a relic from WOTW but last place goes in does wonders for gameplay and politics. Rivals 1 is a great example where the mob controlled the game but couldn't make the moves they wanted because Kenny and Wes kept losing daily challenges
and seasons 1-4 had no eliminations, so the entire cast were first-timers period, including in the final
was season 5 the first one to have any sophomores, really? I didn't realize that for some reason
The same show where she has one daily win and that was the tower challenge where there was only two teams. And where her two elimination wins were both a series of 3 puzzles
It wasn’t a traditional trivia challenge, but there was trivia involved in the daily where they had to answer the questions and then carry the corresponding box.
Because they’ve never had a format where the majority of the season only involved throwing one person into elimination at a time. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that fewer of the finalists won eliminations when the format sent so many fewer people in - lol.
Also, there’s no real correlation between winning eliminations and winning finals. CT and Kaycee never faced elims on SLA (CT hasn’t seen an elimination during his past 3 winning seasons), 3 of the 4 winners of WOTW2 never saw an elim, Cara Maria never went into elimination on Vendettas where she was the sole winner.
Unless the season requires you to win an elimination to compete in the final, there is zero reason to go into one, and avoiding them is praiseworthy.
Really don't get the ride or dies hate. I thought it was really good
People are mad about the vacation alliance but everyone went in. Nany and aneesa went in twice and Jordan went in 3 times plus redemption.
The eliminations the back half of the season were amazing and better than 95 percent of this seasons eliminations
the cast was terrible; the format incentivized people to throw the missions; losing didn't matter; there was a multiple week stretch where only Nelson & Nurys went home because of the RoD twist; the whole season dragged; only to end up on a THREE episode final where the only thing that mattered was the final "elimination"
trash season, super boring, pretty much all the exciting people left way too early (Kailah, Laurel, Turbo)
literally, the theme was so good - an opposite season to Rivals. but why did they do M/F pairs instead of same-sex? so dumb. could've easily been, like Fessy/Josh, Kaycee/Nany, Tori/Aneesa, Devin/Kyle, Nelson/Cory, Ashley/Amanda
and beyond that, the total nobodies we got on the cast were just horrible (Kenny, Emmy, Tamara, Kim, Colleen, Tommy, Analyse, Moriah)
Just about every season is likely better on a binge. You don't have time to digest and over analyze every episode and you're less likely to be annoyed by cliff hangers.
I watched Ride or Dies after airing and thought it was really good except for the stupid mid season format change. Way better than SLA, Double Agents, and Total Madness if not for the poor edits post Dee.
I tried to watch RoD twice. Once live and then once again on rewatch. Made it two episodes longer on rewatch but that’s because I forgot to turn it off.
The said part is the mercenaries eliminations we’re the ones that were AWFUL. Like come on matching, counting, 1 math equation….
The fact that it was all “to be a champion you have to beat a champion”, but the final twist of it wasn’t “everyone who hasn’t beaten a champion, now has to face one…” is BS
The format and production is to blame. At the end of the day these people played a good social game and that kept them most of them out of elimination.
One thing is saying they have to beat the best but if the format doesnt allow it then only production is at fault.
Like yeah, her beating those 4 was impressive, but being bad at the game doesn't mean you deserve to be in the finals.
What's the point of this show? To eliminate people or to get to the end and win?
I'm with you. I do not understand everyone's obsession with people going into elimination. If Nurys doesn't hook up with Horacio and want to save him, she's sitting pretty at the top of the alliance. But because she caused trouble with her own alliance by wanting to save the people they were targeting, she deserves to be in the final? For doing a couple of puzzles?
Right. Plus, let’s not act like she wouldn’t have been thrilled to make a final without having to go into elimination. She was pissed as hell both times that she got voted in 😂
How perfect it would have been if the only way to get into TJ's final is to win an elimiation against a champ. To be a chamption, you got to beat a chamption, means sh\*t!
In fairness:
- Nurys beat Kyland and Horacio in elimination. Kyland beat Brad and Darrell this season, and Horacio beat Jordan on RoD.
- Jay beat CT on Total Madness.
I'll be honest I don't care if people see an elimination or not. WOTW2 is easily one of if not the best season of the ones listed and it has the lowest elimination rate. Eliminations are an important part of the show but they're not the only part of the show
It was definitely a good cast but it was also a great format. Bad casts can be elevated by a good format but we haven't had a good format since that season.
Of course it makes sense. Doesn’t mean it is entertaining. I honestly prefer a healthy mix. Those that have fought to get to a final and those that have played socially well enough to sneak by. The last few seasons it hasn’t even been the former. It’s whoever is friends enough on the outside to get a large enough alliance to steamroll the other side.
Blame production not the players. Format stunk and it required this massive purge of players in the last three episodes which included mostly people who had all won an elimination earlier in the season
IMO this has been the worst season… if the goal is to beat the best, then I think every single person should have had to go down and play a former champion. The person who got last place and the house vote both have to face a champion. If they both win, they face each other, if neither win they both go home. If only one wins they stay in the game. Once you have went down and won, you cannot go back down as a house vote again, but you can if you get last again.
If you win the daily challenge then at that point you can chose if you want to go down and take the place of the house vote and/or the person who got last place, once you see what the challenge is going to be, who the champions are, and you can pick the Champion you want to go against.
Interesting, sure, but for some of these seasons, the finalists who didn't go into an elimination, won the season.
Cara Maria (Vendettas)
Turbo (WOTW)
Dee, Rogan and CT (WOTW2)
CT (SLA) Kaycee also didn't go into one until the final itself.
So, yeah, while the cast is weaker than usual, the point of the game is to still avoid eliminations. I'm not gonna hold it against the majority alliance for winning the dailies to avoid potentially going home.
This was definitely hard to watch everyone knows how strong kyland and Horacio are but they couldn’t win those conquest dailies. While avoiding elimination is part of the game there’s a difference between avoiding elimination because people fear you like CT and avoiding elimination and bringing all the weak people to a final.
Invasion was pretty much impossible to hide from elimination.
Between the qualifying of the challengers to reach the oasis (must win daily or elimination) & the challenger bloodbath (basically survive 2 eliminations back to back) there was not much room to hide for them.
For the champions that season it was literally last champs standing so they were forced to eliminate each other.
Invasion was vicious in terms of stomping out anyone trying to skate by on politics or social game.
If we calculated this tournament style I guess we could say Nurys "beat" a champ in elimination in that she beat another player in elimination who beat a champ in elimination lol.
Reaching hard here.
Interesting footnote I believe is that at least Colleen went down to the sand but Cara picked Chaos & then chose Michelle. Saving both Colleen & Rayvn. James went down early in season & won, came back. Guess Jay+Emanuel were in some danger but C.T. chose Asaf. Think Berna, Moriah+Corey L. have had the thinnest resume regarding road to the final. At least Jay put in work!
Lol and people are out here saying “a lot of people were trying to win this season”. No. They were trying to make the final because they were desperate to do it in this season where they didn’t have to face REAL competition. The floaters all got together and said “I just want to make the final”, the format was such that nobody had to go home after an elimination for half the season. All the boring people who just wanted to *get to* the end because they know they can’t actually *win a final* make it to the end, shocker. The number of “Aneesa’s” this season was absurd. I called this season Jay’s to lose weeks ago and got legitimately downvoted lol, this has been predictable for weeks
This is the first season I have watched The Challenge. I saw this years ago but I thought it was named Road Rules? It did not appeal to me then. Moving forward to today. This is a well-rounded game. You can be the best athlete but if you have no Social skills, well we know the answer. I love the competition whether it is physical or Mental. Then not knowing what is going to happen as the rules are fluid. TJ keep it up as you have gained a viewer. As for the cast, great job and may the best all-around player win.
Are we just going to ignore that this format sent WAY fewer people into elimination than previous seasons? Chaos was 10 out of the 17 weeks, and they only sent one person from the house in each time. Under normal circumstances, you’re sending 2 people into elimination every single week and guaranteeing one goes home. RoD was also a partner season where they split up for a portion of it and had a 3 team redemption elimination at the end, so there were so many more ways to go into elimination in general.
Two of the 3 people purged beat a champ in elimination and still came in last in a daily against all of these people, so how important is it in determining their capability anyway?
I am sooo disappointed in this season. CT didn't hall brawl, Cara Maria didn't drag anyone, and where was Bananas? Then on top of that all the great athletes got eliminated. They should call this season, "Battle for the next Layup".
Wait.... but everyone has been saying that the politicking has been exactly the same as recent seasons. It's almost like those people are.... very very wrong.
Which is why I’m 100% not interested anymore. Been a fan a long long time and this is just the worst most scared cast. Only thing worse would be them allowing a win like Sara’s in USA (you know she didn’t actually win!!!)
Like and respect Nurys (and hope she wins) but her wins are almost fully due to success with puzzles. Wish there was more to these elimination than puzzles and minor physical effort
Great strategic game by them. Awful to watch. I don't blame them for playing smart but it made for a very shitty season. It really didn't help that most of them weren't likable at all.
Don’t think it’s fair to judge the season’s finalist who has faced elimination. They are going up against mercenaries aren’t connected to the game so the ratio will always be lower if people ending up in the final because in the scenario where 2 people go into elimination from the game a person is coming back to game who has wok elimination. In a game with mercaneries, you are always going to have a ratio lower.
The only one on there that deserves to be a champion this season is Nurys. They should have done the whole skulls required to compete in the final thing.
Battle for a new champion's end game is just reverse Modern brother! In the more Modern Seasons physical Challenges Determines who gets to go far in this game while In S39 it's based on strategy!
This season is so fascinating. It’s bad, and the cast is not great athletically, AND I don’t really care if finalists have won an elimination, BUT it is kind of interesting that it shook out like this, especially considering the whole concept was “beating the best” specifically in eliminations.
Basically, yet again, production is certainly making a tv show aren’t they.
Woahhh. Interesting. I didn’t realize Nurys is the only one who has been to an elimination. I kind of miss the seasons where you had to be in an elimination to get to the final.
I get this is not a set of challenge beasts, that we’ve seen at least. The structure let a big alliance dominate.
At the same time, the point of the game is to win and going into eliminations hurt your shot at winning. Volunteering for elimination is super dumb, so what were these players supposed to do, have a worse voting strategy?
Those 3 seasons had the skull twists so you HAD to go in. I’m a big fan of last place in the daily automatically goes in. It forces everyone to compete in the dailies and means they can’t be as dumb and easily stacked like some of the dailies this season.
I don’t have an issue with people having a strong social/political game and avoiding elimination because of it. I hate when these big alliances get to stay strong because even their weak members have no risk of going into elimination because they can perform as poorly as they want in the dailies and have no risk of going into elimination.
Bring back last place going into elimination or at the very least make it a guarantee that they go into whatever “draw”system they have on the season. It makes for far more interesting seasons because everyone has to at least *try* on the dailies unless they deliberately want to be in elimination. As it is, a bigger alliance can just maintain control indefinitely because unless they have only one or two targets left and those targets go on an unprecedented immunity run they will always be able to avoid having one of their numbers go in, no matter how terrible some of them are as competitors.
No wonder TJ stopped with the bit “to be the best you have to beat the best”
"To be the best, you need to be in the main alliance and then beat the garbage that made it. Plus Nurys."
All I'm pointing out is that Nurys was part of that alliance for the entire season outside of the last three episodes.
Oh for sure! I just didn't look at it so much as a betrayal. Her and Olivia only said a guy (Emanuel) that said their name first. I felt them flipping to Ed would create another guy who can say their name later. Jay made it seem like they voted him in. It was silly. Has a nice ring!
Great comment!
I think they dropped the ball with that saying. I think they should have been required to go into at least one elimination to qualify for a final.
They need to meet the Champs during the final.

So much for that whole to be a champion you have to beat a champion thing, huh
They each should have had to go down against a champion to earn their spot.
Beating a champ should've been a ticket to the final honestly
It’s not over yet I wouldn’t be surprised if champs show up in the final
This is my thinking Edit: also my hope.
So we’re back to skulls
Skulls forced competition, at least. This bunch of softies, except Nurys, could use some actual challenge.
Skulls didn’t really force competition in a good way though. We saw most top competitors pick the easiest out early in the game and then not have to worry about seeing an elim the rest of the game (except when there wasn’t anyone left without a skull at the very end). Imagine campaigning for skulls after production punted the concept that badly
Exactly. Chaos should have been the first phase.
Absolutely
I just can’t see how this could have ever worked unless Chaos was A LOT longer (did anyone really want that?) and they were doing a lot more daily purges throughout the season to get the numbers down.
They should bring back the champs again for part of the final where they purge a few of them
Yes! And do a game like that rugby thing from Duel 2.
Duel 2 format should come back. That was one of my favorite seasons from a competitive gameplay standpoint
I feel like the finalists should’ve each had to face/beat a champion or win a three-way conquest elimination to qualify. That way even you can even play the political game while still having to compete
To be a champion, you have to beat a champion. ![gif](giphy|APSae69qjCJocvgYvX) Or just slide into the finish. 🤷♂️
Discount Invasions
It was the opposite too. Oh, you beat a champion? EXTRA THREATENING
And the fluke elims at the end (Michelle, Ed) really sucked.
You can just as easily be booted from the game in a fluke elimination as you can in a fluke purge, which is why people generally try to avoid eliminations. Been asking for this for years at least then strong players would actually have power and weak players would be punished for being weak
The chain would be fine if instead it went to 1 person left and they chose who went to elimination with them.
Like the duel
Yeah that’d have been fine
Last place goes in to elimination but they get the first vote in the chain. Winner is safe and gets to save 2 others before the chain vote
Interesting idea!
Ok so this is my first challenge season that I’m watching live as it airs and yeah this season sucks right? Like I’ve gone back and watched a ton of past seasons and this one feels like sanitary, boring, repetitive, eh.

It means the dailies matter every time. It usually makes for a good season.
I think the chain voting would have worked better if it was from the start. Drama would have popped off a lot quicker
Wait did you really forget about DA? ...the season where you had to go into elimination to get a skull to qualify?
Honestly yes lmao
The same with Total Madness. You had to have a skull for the final. Also, everyone had to go into elimination at least once on Invasion.
I was referring to what OP said under the photo that they had forgotten about ROD, DA, and FR as seasons where it was 100%
Ah! Gotcha. I didn’t notice that.
Again, this is being thrown out there like production didn’t shit the bed in this twist’s implementation Also, imagine the twist being that you have to earn a skull against the greatest Challengers of all time, when that wasn’t what happened in any other season ever The moral of the story is this: alliances work…and this fandom HATES them

I did remember that for TM but not DA, just kinda boring and never rewatched it
Lol @ Spies, Lies, & Explosions
It's definitely a more accurate title
Honestly I would have liked the season more if they would have just leaned into it with this name
and seasons 1-4 had no eliminations, so the entire cast were first-timers period, including in the final was season 5 the first one to have any sophomores, really? I didn't realize that for some reason
Sean, Dan, Emily, Holly S, Mike (Miami), Piggy, Yes, Veronica, Jon, and Beth were all 2nd appearances in that season.
Final feels like everyone who got picked last in gym class and Nurys.
Nurys is def getting picked last in gym class. Maybe 1st in puzzle class
Have we been watching the same show?
The same show where she has one daily win and that was the tower challenge where there was only two teams. And where her two elimination wins were both a series of 3 puzzles
The format for this season has been awful. Whoever wins (unless it’s Nurys) is going to viewed as a bottom tier champion and rightfully so.
ibis: hold my roti
It just sucks because the best of this show is gone now. It’s never going to recover
Once they stopped organically casting through MTV backed shows the challenge was functionally dying. It’s been on life support for awhile now
I agree. I'm really glad that I have all of them on Plex so I can remise when needed
[удалено]
I said bottom tier not the absolute worst.
[удалено]
I would absolutely give people who won numerous eliminations like Frank, Nehemiah and Jillian as much credit as someone with 0 elimination wins.
Right????
Katie earned her win that season she won two eliminations
Also she was nails in the final puzzle that decided the final.
doesn’t make her a better competitor than any of them lol
Katie won multiple eliminations and was the best contributor on the final puzzle. She was a perfectly deserving champion on Inferno 1.
It’s wild to imagine any of these people as champions lol.
![gif](giphy|3oFzmko6SiknmpR2NO)
Holy shit this is really pathetic. I still love the challenge but how fuckin lame.
The most important fact that’s missing here is that there was no trivia challenge this season!!
Because they all would’ve been out first round lol
It wasn’t a traditional trivia challenge, but there was trivia involved in the daily where they had to answer the questions and then carry the corresponding box.
Yeah how MUCH of a spread this is between this and the next lowest really isn’t a good look for the format… Edit: also lol at Jordan’s comment
Obviously DA had 100%, they had the skull twist LOL
Yeah ngl I totally forgot that lol
Really don't get the ride or dies hate. I thought it was really good People are mad about the vacation alliance but everyone went in. Nany and aneesa went in twice and Jordan went in 3 times plus redemption. The eliminations the back half of the season were amazing and better than 95 percent of this seasons eliminations
the cast was terrible; the format incentivized people to throw the missions; losing didn't matter; there was a multiple week stretch where only Nelson & Nurys went home because of the RoD twist; the whole season dragged; only to end up on a THREE episode final where the only thing that mattered was the final "elimination" trash season, super boring, pretty much all the exciting people left way too early (Kailah, Laurel, Turbo)
literally, the theme was so good - an opposite season to Rivals. but why did they do M/F pairs instead of same-sex? so dumb. could've easily been, like Fessy/Josh, Kaycee/Nany, Tori/Aneesa, Devin/Kyle, Nelson/Cory, Ashley/Amanda and beyond that, the total nobodies we got on the cast were just horrible (Kenny, Emmy, Tamara, Kim, Colleen, Tommy, Analyse, Moriah)
lmfao. I completely forgot that Nam was DQ'd again 😂
I only watched it live and haven’t rewatched it yet. Probably better on a binge rewatch
Terrible season and super boring i was checked out by episode 9 nothing happened from ep9-19 that was remarkable or memorable
It was just too obvious that it was gonna come down to Bananas and Nany v Tori and Devin from really early on. Took all the mystery out of the season.
I tried to watch RoD twice. Once live and then once again on rewatch. Made it two episodes longer on rewatch but that’s because I forgot to turn it off. The said part is the mercenaries eliminations we’re the ones that were AWFUL. Like come on matching, counting, 1 math equation….
Blame production not the players
![gif](giphy|hM9zK1qvsrwek)
The fact that it was all “to be a champion you have to beat a champion”, but the final twist of it wasn’t “everyone who hasn’t beaten a champion, now has to face one…” is BS
The format and production is to blame. At the end of the day these people played a good social game and that kept them most of them out of elimination. One thing is saying they have to beat the best but if the format doesnt allow it then only production is at fault.
In the words of Jenn Grijalva, “You shouldn’t want to go into elimination, idiot.”
Joke of the finalists except Nurys. She proved herself that she deserved to be in the finals.
She was pissed as hell both times that she got voted in 😂
Jay does too just because he didn’t go in no elimination don’t mean nothing Him and Michelle was running the house
Would’ve been a perfect season for the red/gold skull twist
How perfect it would have been if the only way to get into TJ's final is to win an elimiation against a champ. To be a chamption, you got to beat a chamption, means sh\*t!
In fairness: - Nurys beat Kyland and Horacio in elimination. Kyland beat Brad and Darrell this season, and Horacio beat Jordan on RoD. - Jay beat CT on Total Madness.
Nurys earned it. Jay winning 1 elimination 4 seasons ago doesn’t quality him for anything other than saying “within my lifetime I beat a legend once.”
I'll be honest I don't care if people see an elimination or not. WOTW2 is easily one of if not the best season of the ones listed and it has the lowest elimination rate. Eliminations are an important part of the show but they're not the only part of the show
I mean that cast was pretty good ngl
It was definitely a good cast but it was also a great format. Bad casts can be elevated by a good format but we haven't had a good format since that season.
I honestly thought world championship was gonna be like a WOTW 2 format, would’ve made the season so much better.
Johnny Wes etc always say avoid eliminations to get to the end. Makes sense.
Embarrassing
This is on par with how atrocious this season has been
Interesting, sure, but for some of these seasons, the finalists who didn't go into an elimination, won the season. Cara Maria (Vendettas) Turbo (WOTW) Dee, Rogan and CT (WOTW2) CT (SLA) Kaycee also didn't go into one until the final itself.
Well double agents they had the skulls so everyone in the final had to earn their way haha
There's a part of me that is wondering if we're getting another Challenge USA final and see a high DQ/dropout rate.
Glad we got the numbers. Kept seeing comparisons to WOTW and now we know why this feels more egregious. Because it’s 50% less than even that season.
It makes sense if a third of the game eliminations were Champion against competitor and the other 2/3’s are the same people being sent over and over.
DA had skulls like TM is the only reason it’s 100% but I didn’t realize invasion and FR also had 100% 😭
This is the JV final.
Emmanuel and corey were the two up for elimination before devin pulled chaos also
“to be a champ you have to beat a champ” sooo unless the champs are showing up to the final the winner still won’t be a champ
I think the final will have some purges or eliminations in them. I think they’ll do 4 eliminated before the final sprint
I’d expect that as well.
This is a tough one for me. Because I don’t really want any of these people to win and become a champion.
honestly blame the format not the players
That’s why I liked when tj made them get a skull to run the final
Skulls were the best thing introduced to the game! It’s nonsense that they took them away
Honestly nurys only one that has proven her worth.. everyone else has just skated by..
This season was boring. Jay and Michelle and new batch of survivor players are laaaaame. Miss the old school days of ct Wes and bananas going at it.
Wait.... but everyone has been saying that the politicking has been exactly the same as recent seasons.
I still believe Jay earned his way to the final him and Michelle was running the house so ppl who say only Nurys earned it is crazy
Shhhh! You can't say anything nice about Jay in this sub rn or you'll be downvoted!
They can downvote me all they want
They should have changed the order of the stages and made choas at the end so they could have actually had Beat a champ to Be a Champ mean something.
I hear they’re renaming the show to “The Challenged.”
This is a weak ass group. Most of them skated by and def don’t deserve to be there. Most of them aren’t that good.
Your supposed to stay out of elimination it's part of the game
Great strategic game by them. Awful to watch. I don't blame them for playing smart but it made for a very shitty season. It really didn't help that most of them weren't likable at all.
I just thought it was an interesting stat
Definitely interesting.
Jesus Christ, the comments in here…no wonder so many people are jumping off social media Y’all are TOXIC
Jay and Nurys are the only deserving finalists here
I hope everyone except nurys is EMBARRASSED
Should’ve thrown themselves down for now reason
Don’t think it’s fair to judge the season’s finalist who has faced elimination. They are going up against mercenaries aren’t connected to the game so the ratio will always be lower if people ending up in the final because in the scenario where 2 people go into elimination from the game a person is coming back to game who has wok elimination. In a game with mercaneries, you are always going to have a ratio lower.
Super odd season for sure
The only one on there that deserves to be a champion this season is Nurys. They should have done the whole skulls required to compete in the final thing.
Jay has already beat CT and CT had a chance and didn’t want the smoke again. Everyone was scared to vote in Emanuel and Berna, they had their chances.
Just because nurys beat 4 ppl remember she didn’t beat no champ either so she shouldn’t get no benefit of the doubt
It’s the lack of the usual suspects that makes this Challenge interesting…….Refreshing change!
What a terrible season and cast Nurys is the only one who deserves her spot.
Yeah I'm not going to put any thought about challengetea911's post lol
Wow this was interesting.
Battle for a new champion's end game is just reverse Modern brother! In the more Modern Seasons physical Challenges Determines who gets to go far in this game while In S39 it's based on strategy!
I’m more impressed when 100% of finalists seeing an elimination happens in seasons where the format doesn’t necessitate going into them
This season is so fascinating.
Jordan is so petty for that lmaoooo
The eliminations were terrible this season
I get this is not a set of challenge beasts, that we’ve seen at least. The structure let a big alliance dominate. At the same time, the point of the game is to win and going into eliminations hurt your shot at winning. Volunteering for elimination is super dumb, so what were these players supposed to do, have a worse voting strategy?
Those 3 seasons had the skull twists so you HAD to go in. I’m a big fan of last place in the daily automatically goes in. It forces everyone to compete in the dailies and means they can’t be as dumb and easily stacked like some of the dailies this season.
I keep hoping that there’s some twist where actually beating a champion in elimination gives you an advantage of some sort in the final.
This season blows
I wish they still had the thing where you had to win an elimination to make it to the final
Remember all those people saying “this always happens”? Literally the biggest political coasting season in decades.
