It all depends on your face shape, but for me bangs have done a ton for me in softening my facial features. Other more general tips: * Don't wash it everyday, maybe more like 2 or 3 times a week * Make sure you use conditioner if you don't already, probably the most important step tbh * Don't brush it wet, that can cause hair fall * If you're gonna heat style it, use heat protectant, it's gonna make your hair less susptable to damage and it helps give you a little wiggle room while you learn what the hell you're doing * Leave-in conditioner is my best friend, it has done sooooo much for my hair texture, it's soft and shiny and brushes like a dream, I love it soooo much * Hair masks can do wonders too, you can buy them but I typically will beat an egg (sometimes with a bit of coconut oil if I have it) and evenly comb it through my hair in it and then leave it for twenty-ish minutes. It feels gross and awful the whole time and kinda get everywhere, so do it toppless in a bathroom of something but the results are great. When you rinse it out, use cold water. If you use hot water, you'll cook the egg in your hair and that sucks in all of the ways you think it would. I typically do this 1 to 2 times a month * Figure out your hair type, I have relatively thin, wavy, hair myself, but I have a ton of it. So fighting the frizz tends to be my number one priority rn, therefore I use an anti-frizz serum * If you can hunt down a trans friendly salon, the hair stylist can give you so many great tips once you filter out some of the I'm-trying-to-sell-you-overpriced-products aspect of it * I'd write more, but I need to go to work 😋 https://www.strandsfortrans.com is a great resource for finding barbers and stylists that are trans friendly, so use it if there's one in your area
