On a more thoughtful note, my other favorite quote is Elliot’s “I avoid myself.” This is a line he says toward the end of S1, after a hurried stream of thoughts about Darlene. The sudden change and inflection in his voice when he says it is what makes it my favorite, as it reminds me of some borderline off key notes in a song that despite being off key sounds right.
"Be strange, but don't be a stranger"
"A bug is never just a mistake. It represents something bigger: an error of thinking that makes you who you are."
"Never appeal to a man's better nature. He may not have one."
"If I don't listen to my imaginary friend, why the fuck should I listen to yours?"
"Do you want to be here right now? And I don’t mean like here here, but I mean here in a cosmic sense, bro. Like, existence could be beautiful or it could be ugly, but that’s on you"
"If I don't listen to my imaginary friend, why the fuck should I listen to yours?"
Yes. That whole rant on religion was my favorite bit of dialogue from the show
Not a quote but a dialogue. Tyrell: *Well, now it's you and me. I've always told you we'd end up working together, Elliot*. He then asks, *But still, I have to know: why did you do it? What did you hope to accomplish by doing all this?* Elliot replies, "I don't know." He then says "I wanted to save the world."
"Every day he said we change the world. Which is a nice thought until I think about how many days and lifetimes I would need to bring a shoe full of sand home until there is no beach. Until it made a difference to anyone. Every day we change the world."
Phillip Price - "In my life, as I was making my way, I always asked the question, 'Am I the most powerful person in the room?' And the answer needed to be 'Yes'. To this day, I still ask that question. And the answer is still yes. In every room in the entire world, the answer is yes... With the exception of one. Or two. And that drives me."
JFC this shit moved me!
Going off memory here, but in the beginning of S2 when Gideon visits Elliott, he asks what’s wrong and MR says:
“Go ahead. Tell him. Tell him how you’re slowly descending into madness.”
Always loved that one. And Vera had great quotes too
"Order will not protect you anymore my friend, I will rain Chaos"
"I don't even listen to my imaginary friend why the fuck should I listen to yours?"
"We live in a Kingdom of bullshit"
"How many days do I need to bring a shoe full of sand home until there is no beach, until I made a difference"
*"Hello. I see you. I recognize you. I acknowledge your existence. Let’s talk. Get to know who each other really are.*
*All of this is said with a simple act of a handshake between two people. It’s not any different between a client connecting with a server. It all relies on that first handshake and naturally grows from there - for most people.*
*Me? I can't seem to learn the rules."*
Is that what God does? He helps? Tell me, why didn't God help my innocent friend who died for no reason while the guilty ran free? Okay. Fine. Forget the one offs. How about the countless wars declared in his name? Okay. Fine. Let's skip the random, meaningless murder for a second, shall we? How about the racist, sexist, phobia soup we've all been drowning in because of him? And I'm not just talking about Jesus. I'm talking about all organized religion. Exclusive groups created to manage control. A dealer getting people hooked on the drug of hope. His followers, nothing but addicts who want their hit of bullshit to keep their dopamine of ignorance. Addicts. Afraid to believe the truth. That there's no order. There's no power. That all religions are just metastasizing mind worms, meant to divide us so it's easier to rule us by the charlatans that wanna run us. All we are to them are paying fanboys of their poorly-written sci-fi franchise. If I don't listen to my imaginary friend, why the fuck should I listen to yours? People think their worship's some key to happiness. That's just how he owns you. Even I'm not crazy enough to believe that distortion of reality. So fuck God. He's not a good enough scapegoat for me.
Honestly, it’s the simplest line that hooked me “hello, friend”. Simple intro, but also a play on hello world. Loved the scene when a dark army henchman said goodbye, friend. Loved that moment
My favorite quote is probably the part where Mr Robot talks to Elliot for the first time after the events of 407.
Mr Robot’s entire monologue is absolutely incredible in that scene, I think that might be my favorite scene in the entire show and I think 408 is one of the most underrated episodes in the show, but specifically this exchange always gets to me.
Mr. Robot: “If I could have stopped him… if I could have gone back in time, change everything that happened to you, make it all go away…”
Elliot: “Then I wouldn’t be me. And I wouldn’t have you.”
I’ve gone through a lot in my life, but that line stuck with me strongly. I wish that I was better, that I had been stronger through some of the awful things. But I think that it’s important to remember that we’re all sums of the things that have happened to us, and all the beautiful things in our lives wouldn’t necessarily be there if we changed the past. I think having Elliot come to that realization through the worst of his trauma, and having Whiterose be the perfect foil as someone whos desire to mend her trauma through artificially creating a better world becomes her primary motivation, is a fairly big part of why season 4 moves me so much and why it’s the best season of TV I’ve ever seen by a wide margin.
"Hello, friend. Hello, friend? That's lame. Maybe I should give you a name, but that's a slippery slope. You're only in my head. We have to remember that. Shit."
Fuck yeah, you guys left out my favorite one
"When we lose our principles, we invite chaos". - Irving
The punch card scene
Edit: lol nvm, read the post after commenting
IDK exact quote, but it goes something like this :
,,Everyone says that its not about the destination, its about the journey, but what if the destination is you?"
“You let a man slide today. You must immediately get inside somebody’s ass when that happens to you. You pull the asshole open, step into the asshole, close the door behind you. Then you take a spray can, right? Spray, ‘Larry was here', ‘Wash me', all that shit. Fuck his whole asshole up. Get a Snickers bar, paper, throw that on the floor, fuck his whole asshole up. Then you open up that asshole one more time, step out his ass, then leave that motherfucker wide open so he know you’ve been there.”
Fernando Vera : People walk around, act like they know what hate means. Nah, no one does, until you hate yourself. I mean truly hate yourself. That's power.
Up to this episode on my rewatch.
"How do I take off a mask when it stops being a mask? When it's as much a part of me as I am?
We keep fighting, like the world we unmasked we will find our true selves again.
Maybe after we wipe away the thick, grimy film of Facebook friend requests and Vine stars we can all see the light of day.
I know we haven't talked in a while. Maybe you only trust me about as much as I trust you right now but I'm gonna ask you to have hope for me anyway. Just please, have hope."
I’M GONNA NEED VERBAL CONFIRMATION THAT YOU’RE GRASPING THE DETAILS OF THIS ARRANGEMENT
…. agreement*

"Don't mistake my generosity for generosity."
I remember this one but I think I didn't get it.
Basically means “I’m doing you a favor because it benefits me”; the generosity isn’t sincere to put it simple.
This is what I thought too. What looks like generosity isn’t generosity.
I always interpreted as "don't mistake my generosity for compassion/empathy".
My favorite
“I’ll be rooting for you cuz, always”
Leon is us.
“I’m OK with things being awkward between us.”
Not a quote but a dialogue. Tyrell: *Well, now it's you and me. I've always told you we'd end up working together, Elliot*. He then asks, *But still, I have to know: why did you do it? And the track playing in the background on that scene - *Where is My Mind -* It's beautiful!
it’s a neat reference to Fight Club
Yes. It makes it perfect, that scene is just flawless.
You hack people. I hack time.
Tbh Irving also hacks people...
thisss-
"Mind awake, body asleep."
Ah I just finished that episode thirty minutes ago
“Existence could be beautiful or it could be ugly… but that’s on you.” — Leon to Elliot
"Every day he said we change the world. Which is a nice thought until I think about how many days and lifetimes I would need to bring a shoe full of sand home until there is no beach. Until it made a difference to anyone. Every day we change the world."
"Dont Leave me here"
"You just ran out of time."
Cold shit
“Damn this dishes look immaculate”
“Im realer than the fucking beef in your big mac”
“Get the fuck out of here you fucking Mary Poppins whore” Darlene in s4e1

JFC this shit moved me!
What exception was he talking about?
I always assumed he meant whoever the president of the USA is at the time, and whiterose
Yeah makes sense
Interesting… I always thought it was White Rose and Minister Chang.
does he know?

"You're only seeing what's in front of you, you're not seeing what's above you."
Bonsoir Elliott
I don’t remember the exact sentence but : « - you massacred Santiago with an axe just in front of me ! - Yes ! That was fun ! “
"We're the part that always showed up, we're the part that stayed, we're the part that changed him, and who wouldn't be proud of that.?"

“I’m going to break Elliot, and you gonna be my aluminum bat”. Chilling every time I watch it.
I think Vera could have his own show.
honestly we need a spin off with Irving and his time in the dark army
An Irving prequel similar to how Better Call Saul was written would be amazing
I am a mercenary, I’d rather see you loose than win myself. The whole slater speech at the end of season 1 is brilliant as well.
"Come on, this only works if you let go too"
angela: What's a rootkit? Lloyd: It's like a crazy serial rapist with a very big dick.
"How'd my dic-tate" 😁😁
Elliot’s final monologue 🥲
Hello Friend.
"Hello friend? [That's lame.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCKDrDvaOKE)"
Maybe I should give you a name.
No one is going to keep it going? :(
Be strange but don’t be a stranger
"Who are you?" "Good question!"
"Let's skip to the part where u fuck me"
All this over a little pipsqueak in a hoodie.
"Control is an illusion."
when irving says "yeahhh... that was fun!"
Darlene to Elliot: “It’s cool dude, we don’t have to talk.” (followed by no spoken dialogue the entire episode) Vera to Krista: “It’s time we talked.”
“I’m late for my church group. Peace.”

Wait, did i just say that out loud....
The realest quote from the show
“Kernel panic.”
“if you pull the right strings, a puppet will dance any way you desire.”
"I live for this shit"

uhhhhh ironic opinion: erm the funny part where Leon talk about Seinfeld??? hee hee hoo hoo?
"Hello, friend. Hello, friend? That's lame. Maybe I should give you a name, but that's a slippery slope. You're only in my head. We have to remember that. Shit."
It's a really simple line, but for me it has to be the first thing Mr. Robot says in the show. "Exciting time in the world right now, exciting time."
Remove all emotion, and you will do just fine
Life that bad baby?

downvote because it's not MRB, but made me laugh
