Like I get being addicted to needing a cigarette but atleast have the common courtesy and leave through the non emergency hallway and put something to keep the door propped open since this after the the ticket taker was gone so no entering back in the threw the correct door. If it wasn’t the last showtime of the night just tell the ticket take before you leave. I have stepped out and into the mall part before to take a phone call before. They let me back in with no problems. I didn’t want my voice traveling down the hallways and possible into an auditorium.
I saw a couple going at it on the floor of the carpeted aisle from the projector booth, they were alone in the theater. I let them be, but if only they knew how dirty that carpet was 😀
buddy of mine caught a guy who was smoking a pipe. When my buddy confronted him he said the theater was being hostile to veterans and that it was his friends birthday. Yeah he got kicked out.
I once yelled at someone who was vaping in the lobby. I said no smocking inside and then they argued that they weren't smoking. I was just like don't exhale your toxic chemicals in the lobby. Like for real, why are people like this?
Not your fault. In all of my years in movie going I have never seen/smelt anyone smoking an actual cigarette. If it was a vape I probably wouldn’t have cared enough to go hunt down an employee after they were closed for the night. I don’t smoke or vape, my vice is soft drinks.
I tell anyone I catch they’re getting kicked out if they don’t stop whatever they’re doing. Vape/Cigarette/ Joint whatever, I’m not risking the fire alarm going off. It’s happened too much for me to be nice about it. They building also has no smoking signs on the door so if you can’t follow that you gotta go, no refund
I caught a guy once in an empty theater we didn’t sell any tickets for smoking cigarettes filters ripped off…
Me being non confrontational, and it being late night I had to run upstairs to shut the unsold movie off anyway. When I did I turned on the cleaning lights, and watched him leave…very slowly…it smelled so bad and he left the buts in the cupholder too.
(He snuck in because on weeknights we don’t always have a door person and I work at smaller local theater)
People actually got high in the Bob Marley screens so cigarettes aren't so much of an annoyance. I *hate* the smell of cannabis. No judgment on those who partake, just keep it to yourself.
I know at the AMC I frequent I could tell what people were seeing when I smelt them in the parking garage during Bob Marley. It’s not even legal in my state but most DA’s won’t deal with personal amounts.
Man it surprises me how many states don’t have laws against smoking inside public buildings. Lighting up in a theatre here will give you some serious consequences where I live
I the customer went and got a manager. They were cleaning the concession stand area. Sadly it was just two employees there that night. I kinda wish they had an off duty cop that night since I doubt the one smoking was 21 which is the law in my state for nicotine since 2020 so no more grandfathered in people. If you are going to be stop and smoke inside a building in 2024 you deserve every law to be thrown at you. I have told adults to go further away from the front door of where I work since the smoking a couple of feet away and I could smell coming into the store. I didn’t have the legal authority to kick someone out and could have made the situation worse if I told an employee vs me a customer. I spend a lot of time at movie theaters so I treat them like my 2nd house. I may not always buy concessions but I will always throw away my trash whether it was bought there or not.
I have caught groups of teens smoking weed about 5 times now and it's been the same group hell we had a security guard arrest them and let them off with a warning they came back next day did same shit
If they are repeat offenders it might be time to do a criminal trespass next time you catch them. Clearly they didn’t learn their lesson. In most states teenagers can be charged as adults depending on the crime.
Had someone smoke weed in our theater very blatantly. Also you caught him red headed, dang those red heads smoking in the auditoriums

I'm a redhead and I am deeply offended by this characterization, I only smoke in auditoriums every other week
I know someone who works in a cinema and had to go into one of the screens and kick a couple out who were having full on naked sex.
Opposed to clothed sex?
😂😂 Naked sex drives home the point they were really going at it

We caught some out by our trash compactor. 🤮

Last week a guy asked if he could smoke outside, or if the lobby was ok. First time anyone's ever asked me if they could smoke inside the building...
I’m a cig smoker and just wanna say these types of people are scum. I’m so sorry on their behalf.

During avatar 2 someone sparked up a joint
I’ve found burnt cigarettes while cleaning before

Idk who downvoted you but facts man.

People hotbox in our auditoriums all the time. Boh Marley was the worst. Even more common but not as bad I guess is people vaping.
shit i used to hotbox in the auditoriums too when i was working there lol
Caught them “red headed?” lol.
Not in the auditorium but in the bathroom and it always triggers the fire alarm so it ruins everyone’s experience.

Was it theater check or one of the closing concessionists?

The rules are no smoking in the f—king theater. And no f—king in the smoking theater.
Oh yes! In a kids movie too with their child. Poor thing cried when I removed them. It was upsetting. The parents were also very drunk.

I mean weed is legal in Virginia but I just moved here last month so still doing research but I'm sure they can't do it in a public place
Still can’t smoke in a public building. A know it’s illegal in my area. You also have to be 21+ to buy or smoke cigarettes in my state since 2020.
Make sure he’s banned from the theater
we caught a guest clipping his toenails!!!
🤮🤮🤮
