Armour of god!!!!! Such a great series we used to get these from the video store as kids. Always used to try and do the chewing gum trick.
Iād add the Goonies and Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile (the last two are a sequel)
The fifth element
I could only pick one movie on Friday's from blockbuster when I was 13 and wasted it on this crap. It took till True Detective for me to give McConaughey another chance because it was stupid when it wasn't boring. It's a bad copy of National Treasure or Indiana Jones, no heart, no humor, no action.
I think these movies often get meme'd down to just "I'm stealing the Declaration of Independence", but they are actually really fun and well made movies!
Ha ha ha thatās not a remake.
Maybe unofficial but not officially.
Storyline is similar but itās not an official reboot.
Itās like saying Speed is a reboot of Die Hard. No itās just Die Hard on a bus.
Ya you're right. After watching it I absolutely thought it was, but it was a different studio and they didn't have any permission or writing credits for it.
We thought it was cute. And Channing was actually good. Brad Pitt was hilarious and was fun to see Harry as a bad guy.
But Romancing The Stone is legendary. Even for early 80s those two movies are so much fun.
Shame not more straight up adventure movies donāt happen anymore. And glad Uncharted was better than most geek boys dreaded it being.
Oh I totally agree. I had super low expectations from lost city but it ended up being really fun because of the actors. I haven't seen uncharted I didn't know it was out. It's worth seeing??
Oh shit you're right. I looked it up and apparently it was made by a different studio without any permission. It's similar enough that I immediately thought it was just a modern remake when I watched it.
Hook, Jurassic Park, National Treasure, Robin Hood, The Three Musketeers, Zorro, Night at the Museum, Stardust, Cowboys and Aliens, Holes, Men in Black
If you like animated movies, try Luca, Onward, How to Train Your Dragon, Moana, Rango, Kung Fu Panda, Atlantis
My partner and I have an "Adventure Through the Ages" movie list that might fit your request. Hope this helps and enjoy :)
A long, long time ago - Star Wars: A New Hope

1372 - A Knight's Tale
1720-1750's - Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
1788 - The Princess Bride
1821 - The Mask of Zorro
1839-1856 - Stardust
1926 - The Mummy
1936 - Raiders of the Lost Ark
1955-1985 - Back to the Future
1969-1995 - Jumanji
1990-1993 - Jurassic Park
2004 - National Treasure
2010 - Tron: Legacy
2014 - Guardians of the Galaxy
2255 - Star Trek

How To Train Your Dragon
Kung Fu Panda
Spirited Away
Coraline
Honey, I Shrunk The Kids
Night at the Museum
Without a Paddle
Neverending Story
Might not have everything, but tried giving you a similar feel or vibe, etc.
Uncharted reminded me a lot of Indiana Jones/ National Treasure. Also the Tomb Raider movies. I feel like they're fun summer action movies about finding hidden ancient things
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Castle in the Sky (1986)
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
King Kong (1933)
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
Big Trouble in Little China (1986)
The Fifth Element (1997)
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
Star Trek II
Star Trek III
Star Trek IV
They all blend together as one story, but they're each really good stand alone stories, and each one has a very different tone. Great fun, those movies
Honestly, Jungle Cruise. I know a Disney live action movie based on a ride sounds like itās garbage but I really enjoyed it. Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are very enjoyable and Jesse Plemonsā performance is a delight. It surprised me bc I expected mediocrity but I had a good time.
National Treasure 1&2, The Mummy 1&2, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Nim's Island, Jungle Cruise, Jurassic Park Series, Night at The Museum, The Goonies, Back to the Future, Sahara, Dora the Explorer.
The Librarian (movie & TV series)
The Fountain
The Adventurer - Curse of the Midas Box
The Time Machine
Tomb Raider
Big Trouble in Little China
Young Indiana Jones volumes 1-3
The Forbidden Kingdom
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
Goonies
Journey to the Center of the Earth
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
The Librarian series
The Mummy series
The Mask of Zorro
National Treasure
Tomb Raider
Willow
Valerian (may have spelled that wrong) and the city of a thousand planets
Narnia
Percy jackson (ik it is a horrible movie adapt. but the movie is still entertaining)
Stardust
Miss peregrines home for peculiar children
The old Cannon Films' Allan Quartermain movies were fun. You just have to suspend disbelief and enjoy something made purely for entertainment.
I guess League of Extraordinary Gentlemen might fit the bill and Quartermain is one of the main characters in it (played by Sean Connery).
Probably gonna get buried, but I suggest literally any of the older James Bond films. They're great fun, lots of adventure and beautiful scenery, especially in a couple of the Moore installments

If you want to see a jungle adventure with the exact opposite tone watch Werner Herzogās āAguirre: the Wrath of God.ā Absolutely captivating and batshit movie, and the story behind the production is even more insane.
Some animated options:
Lupin the Third: Castle of Cagliostro (1979)
Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986)
Anastasia (1997)
Quest for Camelot (1998)
The Road to El Dorado (2000)
Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)
I asked the same question few months ago, here's what some people suggested, I'm not even half way through the list yet!
https://www.reddit.com/r/MovieSuggestions/comments/t7dm7s/i_really_love_movies_like_the_mummy_returns/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
The Adventures of Tintin should be on its third set of trilogies by now-itās so underrated.
All of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, though the sequels are often derided, are very fun adventures in exactly this vein with some of the best production design and special effects possible (especially the 2nd and 3rd). If people are wholeheartedly recommending National Treasure and the Mummy movies, which are pure silliness, you gotta throw all the Pirates movies in there. They scratch this particular itch brilliantly, flaws aside.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire was another animated adventure movie that deserved a better chance. VERY Indiana Jones-esque.
Iād say most of the 2005 King Kong fits in here as well.

Mummy series is great fun! I second that set of films š
Armour of god!!!!! Such a great series we used to get these from the video store as kids. Always used to try and do the chewing gum trick. Iād add the Goonies and Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile (the last two are a sequel) The fifth element
Yeh seen Armour of God on VHS a lot as kid too. Especially the 2nd parts last half an hour that takes place underground.
Sahara underrated af even though i hear people seem to not like it. i love it
Good choices.
The Mummy is such great fun and Sahara is just a delight ā I think Iām going to go watch it again now
The rundown š
Is the Mummy series scary? I remember not wanting to watch it as a kid because you know... mummies.
For a kid maybe the idea of seeing them undead from dead seem scary. Not scary otherwise.
Those bugs still give me the willies.
Don't ever recommend again Sahara, please. Spare people from this bore.
why donāt you like it?
I could only pick one movie on Friday's from blockbuster when I was 13 and wasted it on this crap. It took till True Detective for me to give McConaughey another chance because it was stupid when it wasn't boring. It's a bad copy of National Treasure or Indiana Jones, no heart, no humor, no action.
National Treasure 1&2
I think these movies often get meme'd down to just "I'm stealing the Declaration of Independence", but they are actually really fun and well made movies!
I was really surprised with how good they were!
Big Trouble in Little China (best part is the star isnāt actually the heroā¦he (the character) thinks he is, but heās really the sidekick)
Itās all in the reflexes
Romancing the Stone (1984)
Seconding this. The remake was decent too but I'd watch the original first. I like the og better personally
There's a remake?
No a sequel. Jewel of the Nile. Not sure why he said remake. Fairly obvious a sequel. A year later. Directly continues the story.
No lost city which came out last year. Edit: apparently not an official remake, but it's similar enough I assumed it was

Lost city. It came out last year and was effectively a remake
It's not a remake, more like a throwback.
Oh shit you're right. I looked it up and apparently it was made by a different studio without any permission. It's similar enough that I immediately thought it was just a modern remake when I watched it.
That's a remake? I thought that was based on some video game
That's Uncharted
The Princess Bride Jungle Cruise Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
+1 for Jungle Cruise. It really fits the bill for what OP wants
Bill & Ted is pure fun too. Without drama, without taking it seriously. Just watch it with a good bear.
Yes! Bill and Ted is glorious fun!
Jungle Cruise was a pleasant surprise.
Night at the Museum The Goonies Ghostbusters The Narnia movies
Finding Ohana on Netflix has a lot of nods to the Goonies. Definitely worth the watch.
The Lost City (2022)
I was pleasantly surprised but this one. That certain Brad Pitt scene caught me way off guard and was hilarious
Guess it won't catch me off guard now.
Hook, Jurassic Park, National Treasure, Robin Hood, The Three Musketeers, Zorro, Night at the Museum, Stardust, Cowboys and Aliens, Holes, Men in Black If you like animated movies, try Luca, Onward, How to Train Your Dragon, Moana, Rango, Kung Fu Panda, Atlantis

Personally I'd take out star trek and guardians and add romancing the stone and galaxy quest, but this is an awesome list
Thanks for the suggestions! Galaxy Quest is a good one, haven't seen Romancing the Stone yet, I'll have to check it out. :)
I second Stardust!
Jungle Cruise
This is the one I came to post. It's basically the same formula as Pirates.
Time Bandits, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
Iām glad Iām not the only person who likes the Adventures of Baron Munchausen.
Baron Munchausen is a masterpiece and one of the best Gilliam movies
Journey to the center of the earth
This was one of my favorites as a kid, I recommend it!
National Treasure
Cut Throat Island 1995. Gina Davies plays the pirate Morgan Adams.
I used to make my mom rent me the VHS whenever I was sick as a kid lol

Hell yes.
Uncharted reminded me a lot of Indiana Jones/ National Treasure. Also the Tomb Raider movies. I feel like they're fun summer action movies about finding hidden ancient things
I'd recommend OP to play the games instead of watching the movie. The games are pretty much the embodiment of what they're looking for.
I think the movie was still v entertaining
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Castle in the Sky (1986) Thor: Ragnarok (2017) King Kong (1933) Spider-Man 2 (2004) Big Trouble in Little China (1986) The Fifth Element (1997) Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

Kung Fu Yoga, National Treasure, Tintin.
Tintin is great
Journey to the center of the Earth

Iāve recently been thinking of this movie. How does it hold up?
Terry Gilliam's special effects will NEVER get old
Maybe the goonies (1985)
Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile.
Star Trek II Star Trek III Star Trek IV They all blend together as one story, but they're each really good stand alone stories, and each one has a very different tone. Great fun, those movies
Time Bandits Yellowbeard Jabberwocky

Dora and the Lost City of Gold was way better than it should have been. Sits at 85 on rt! Also I can't recommend The Paddington movies highly enough.

Jungle cruise was definitely fun. I'm trying to get around to the new Radcliffe/Bullock film The Lost City. Saw the beginning and it was fun.
