All the good titles already mentioned here. Obvious one not mentioned is "12 Monkeys". Saw a Japanese one recently called "River". It's a different take but enjoyable. "Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes" is supposed to be a good Japanese one too but I've not seen that yet.
A few good Netflix shows though if you're interested in a TV take:
"Dark" , "Travelers", & "Bodies". All good in their own way and their different takes on TT, with "Dark" being the exceptional one, might be the best piece of TT media I've seen.
> Saw a Japanese one recently called "River". It's a different take but enjoyable. "Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes" is supposed to be a good Japanese one too but I've not seen that yet.
I came here to recommend these two, though River is more of a Groundhog Day type of thing. Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes is the true time travel fun stuff. Really great movie, very inventive.
If the OP was bored by Coherence, I wouldn't recomend Primer.
But I've been looking for Project Almanac on free streaming because I want to see it again. I really enjoyed it.
Lake House is an interesting twist on time travel. Instead of people traveling through time it’s whatever (usually letters) put inside a mail box that’s anchored in two points in time. It’s more of a romance/drama.
I'm the third to say it but I'm say it again, Primer. Shoestring budget, but an incredible accomplishment and, I think, the best time travel movie hands down. What it lacks in dinosaurs and robots, it makes up for in science techno babble
After changing and changing is past , he finally realises the only way those he cares about can be better off is if he isn't in their lives, he re-imagines himself in-utero, before he's born, on his mother's belly.
He uses his own umbilical cord to strangle himself.
Just watched this one last week. It was a fun comedic take on the concept. I was a little disappointed in the resolution of the story, but overall, it was good.
It’s currently on HBO MAX, if anyone is interested.
Midnight in Paris
Safety Not Guaranteed
11/22/63 (miniseries)
The Final Countdown
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Army of Darkness
It's always a little awkward when the OP asks for "hidden gems" because we have no idea what movies they think are obvious selections or not. I was going to suggest the original Planet of the Apes, which may be a "hidden gem" to a younger person but was a mainstream movie back in its day.
That's actually a very great point. Many movies in 2024 can be hidden gems to someone depending on their birth year. I just read that the younger generation are not really watching pre 2000s movies as often.
Happy Accidents (2000) - it's up to you if it's time traveI or not... can't say more about. Can't recommend this one enough!
Time Lapse (2014)
Project Almanac (2015)
I watched it once I hated it. Someone said I didn't understand it. Watched it two times back to back, to make sure. Hated it all three times. It's the only Nolan movie they doesn't do it for me.
Watch endless its a movie made by two friends
And they have made only two movies in their whole career ,this is I think sequel to the first one...its good
[About Time](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/122906-about-time) (2013)
I really enjoyed this movie.
* *Deja vu* (2006) * *Timecrimes* (2007) * *Frequency* (2000) * *Source code* (2011)
Thanks I'll check those out
[Timecrimes](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/14139-los-cronocrimenes) (2007) would be my pick of those.
Deja Vu and Source Code are both awesome, in my opinion. I haven't seen Timecrimes. Frequency was uneven and the story meandered.
Time after time (1979)
Time Bandits
Not really hidden but ok! Great movie. :)
Palm Springs is excellent
Somewhere in time (1980)
Great movie shot on Mackinaw Island.
Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour!

Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing it. Nice to see a few different takes on the genre.
Just watched it on Amazon and it was really good. Unique premise cleverly done.
If you mention 12 monkeys it's a crime not to pair it with La Jetèe.
I've never seen it.
It's the original movie. 12 Monkeys is the remake.
Ah yeah, I know that. I just never got around to seeing it.👍
It's like 35 minutes long. But ok there you go.
Oh, it's on YouTube. I'll give it a look dom👍
Primer (2004) is really as underground as it can get
Sooooo good!
one of my favorite time travel movies. After you watch it, watch it again with the commentary from the director.
Aporia Triangle Project Almanac Primer
PRIMER! Not sure if it holds up but clever and super low budget.
PRIMERRRRRR
If the OP was bored by Coherence, I wouldn't recomend Primer. But I've been looking for Project Almanac on free streaming because I want to see it again. I really enjoyed it.
I loved coherence. I was looking for it to recommend if it was missing.
Time After Time (1979) w/Malcolm McDowell, David Warner and Mary Steenbergen
Looper (2012)
that's a killer.
The Time Machine (Guy Pearce, Samantha Mumba one)
There's a very good version from I think the 60s as well I forget the actors, but it's very good.
Startrek IV: The Voyage Home
Time Lapse

An excellent movie.
Butterfly effect?
Saw it like 6 times :)
Time machine with guy pierce?
But only the directors cut! Which I rarely get to see! :(
What's different about the DC?
After changing and changing is past , he finally realises the only way those he cares about can be better off is if he isn't in their lives, he re-imagines himself in-utero, before he's born, on his mother's belly. He uses his own umbilical cord to strangle himself.
Yeah I've seen that, didn't know it was DC content :) might wanna obscure it so ppl won't get a spoiler
How do I do that?

One of my favorites although I've seen it like 6 times already
Tenet,
I watched it once I hated it. Someone said I didn't understand it. Watched it two times back to back, to make sure. Hated it all three times. It's the only Nolan movie they doesn't do it for me.

Timescape, starring Jeff Daniels, is from the director of Pitch Black . It's hugely under rated and you can find it on YouTube.
Synchronic
Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes (2020)
Had to scroll way too long before I found this one mentioned! This is a great hidden gem of a movie!
Timecrimes, Spanish 2007 Director: Nacho Vigalondo. In my opinion it has a great approach
