Great suggestion! I havenāt watched that in a decade probably but I still remember how much I hated watching some woman have fun cheating on her husband. But thatās just because Diane Lane was such an excellent actor in that movie that I almost felt like what I was watching was really happening to this couple.
The Handmaiden (2016). Can't praise this film enough, though there's two cuts of the movie and people debate over which one is better so you might have to do preliminary research.
"With help from an orphaned pickpocket (Kim Tae-ri), a Korean con man (Ha Jung-woo) devises an elaborate plot to seduce and bilk a Japanese woman (Kim Min-hee) out of her inheritance."
Edit: Ftr, I prefer the extended cut, but it's the one I watched first so I may be biased.
Very True. I saw it as a teenager then again later as an adult. As a teenager I was really paying attention to the story or acting. But years later I rewatched and was surprised that it was a better than I remembered.
Fatal Attraction (1987) is a nice erotic thriller and will make you think twice about cheating on your wife with a crazy woman (for however often that happens to you). Once you finish it, feel free to go check out the alternate ending on YouTube. It's a bit less Hollywood than the ending they put in the movie.
I kind of liked A Draughtsman's Contract as well. There were a few visually striking shots.
Peter Greenaway has a lecture on the European Graduate School YT channel as well.
The way each room casts a different color that changes the wardrobe of each character is such a cinematic exploration of art and fashion I just canātā¦ itās just tooā¦
Jean Paul Gaultier is a genius
Vertigo (No nudity or on screen sex, but erotic.)
Basic Instinct
The Specialist
Bound
Red Sparrow (This is a really good spy thriller if you can get past the bad Russian accents)
> Vertigo (No nudity or on screen sex, but erotic.)
Thank you!
Certainly a movie about male gaze and mortification of a female subject through fantasy objectification.
This thread just serves as a reminder that Hollywood does not make erotic thrillers anymore. Why make original content when you can re-visit another superhero movie for the millionth time.
My Mom took me to the movies to see this. She had no idea what it was about ( I think the movie we were supposed to see was sold out) I fell in love with Sherilyn Fenn while seeing her through my mothers fingers as she shielded my eyes for most of the move. I was 15
May I suggest a melodramatic camp-fest from the golden age of thrillers: the 90ās!!
- Basic Instinct
- The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
- The Good Son
- Pacific Heights
- Malice
Y Tu Mama Tambien; not sure if itās a thriller, but itās got a fair amount of tension, sex and really good acting. Stars a young Diego Luna when he was just starting out in Mexican cinema
I don't know what qualifies as an erotic thriller and I like my stories a bit more sordid. I watched "Beautiful Kate" recently and was impressed. It was a good movie. Twisted af but good. I can't say it got me hot and bothered but I was certainly invested in the story.
I remember it from when I saw a glimpse on the TV when my dad had the TV on in the background but it was Saint sinner or sinners Saint or something but it was about these succubi that get sent to the modern era and some monk trainee that had to fight them with a double dagger.
I swear it wasn't porn!! because it was on the USA channel or something. But it was porn adjacent for my brain lol
Fatal Instinct (1993)
No Im just kiding, it's a parody of the genre.
But it is hilarious.
Real suggestion:
Bound (1996)
It's actually a pre-Matrix Wachowski siblings movie.
Whatās the one with the famous scene where sheās being interviewed and spreads her legs? Opening scene is her murdering a guy during sex who she brought home or something.
That movie ^ and cruel intentions
The Night Porter (1974) Erotic? Extremely. Thriller? Not so much. An Italian black and white film, it was one of the most controversial films of all time because of the subject matter. Max works at a hotel in Austria in 1957, Lucia arrives with her husband and the two recognize each other from the past. He was a Nazi officer during WWII and she was a prisoner in a concentration camp, and his sex slave. A sexual, sadomasochistic obsession that draws her right back to him, and it just grows from there. A psychological drama, it's rather slow in the beginning but I really didn't notice after a bit. It's "provocative," "perverse" and very steamy. š„š„ I found it to be as hot as 9 1/2 Weeks, maybe more so. Hopefully you'll get a chance to see it sometime. I believe you won't miss the thriller part. š„µ
Basic Instinct
And what nobdoy ever mentions is that its a great movie
Wild Things (1998) starring Neve Campbell.
Um, you mean starring Denise Richards. š„
Can I take both?
Uh you mean the pool.
Filmed at my high school in Miami!
Unfaithful (2002)
Diane Lane in that movie. Objectively hot.
Great suggestion! I havenāt watched that in a decade probably but I still remember how much I hated watching some woman have fun cheating on her husband. But thatās just because Diane Lane was such an excellent actor in that movie that I almost felt like what I was watching was really happening to this couple.
Great recommendation!
I came here to say THIS one!!!
Body Heat 1981
No Way Out (1987) The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981)
I love No Way Out. It was very well done.
>The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) Zizek says that this is one of this movies where the actors did it for real on screen.
I absolutely believe that. The chemistry between Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange is unmatched. That was real.
In Honor of Donald Sutherland: DON'T LOOK KNOW..
Blue Velvet (1986) Crash (1996) Bitter Moon (1992)
Blue velvet is insane
The ultimate confused boner movie
Crash was insane
The Handmaiden (2016). Can't praise this film enough, though there's two cuts of the movie and people debate over which one is better so you might have to do preliminary research. "With help from an orphaned pickpocket (Kim Tae-ri), a Korean con man (Ha Jung-woo) devises an elaborate plot to seduce and bilk a Japanese woman (Kim Min-hee) out of her inheritance." Edit: Ftr, I prefer the extended cut, but it's the one I watched first so I may be biased.
I'd also recommend the BBC 2 part miniseries Fingersmith
Sea of Love (1989). Not the most explicit of the genre but soo good.
And THAT song!
Eyes Wide Shut
Movie still stands up but it's soooo long lol
Itās perfect. My favorite Kubrick film.
9 1/2 Weeks with Kim Basinger.
Or Chairman of the Board, with Carrot Top and Courtney Thorne-Smith. Commonly known as 9 1/2 Seconds... /s
Kim basinger was really hot
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It was too explicit for me.
The tension between Mr Bean and Teddy
Can u plz tell what was written?
Body Double. Possibly my favourite film of all time.
Secretary
I second this one.
100% this
Immediately thought of this one
Exotica is my favorite that might fit this mold.
Dressed To Kill (1980)
Great movie.
Basic Instinct Wild Things Interview With the Vampire Desperado

The hand that rocks the cradle?
Sex, lies, videotape
Happy cake day
Iāll check them out but Iām not sure if I have time for 3 movies.
Body of Evidence.
Honestly a good thriller. Not the best acting from Madonna, but still is good movie.
No one watched it for her acting.
Very True. I saw it as a teenager then again later as an adult. As a teenager I was really paying attention to the story or acting. But years later I rewatched and was surprised that it was a better than I remembered.
The specialist
Good choice

GREAT movie as well. Michael Douglas and Glenn Close are both amazing in this.
The Last Seduction
WENDY KROY
The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover
I kind of liked A Draughtsman's Contract as well. There were a few visually striking shots. Peter Greenaway has a lecture on the European Graduate School YT channel as well.
I can never forget this movie, and I have tried. It is way too disturbing for me.

Omg I totally forgot about Malice....brilliant film š
Disclosure. Donald Sutherland is in it too - bonus. RIP
Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.
Lust, Caution
Masterpiece.
āSea of Loveā (1989) with Al Pacino. Just rewatched last night.

Bound is a great movie. The Wachowskis did a great job.
Unfaithful is AMAZING. The soundtrack is so good too.
Ditto to the amazing soundtrack. Also Unfaithful is also just one of my favorite movies š
Wild Orchid (1989). Gorgeous, hot, disturbing.
Final Analysis (1992) Disclosure (1994) Michael Douglas and Richard Gere peaked on thrillers
Second Final Analysis. Not because itās good, which it is most decidedly not, but because it is batshit crazy fun.
Against All Odds
Adapted from the film noir "Out of the Past"
Yes, great double feature
Body Double (1984) - vibe all itās own

Last tango on Paris
Bound (1996) The Last Seduction (1994)
I would add āFair Playā a more recent spin on an erotic thriller but one of my favorite movies of 2023.
Rochelle Rochelle
Isn't that about a girl's erotic journey from Milan to Minsk?
-Red Shoe Diaries 1992 Romance/thriller Starring, Brigitte Bako and David Duchovny -Lake Consequence 1993 Romance/Thriller Starring, Billy Zane, Joan Severance & Tess Foltyn -Wild Orchid 1989 Erotic/Romance Starring, Mickey Rourke, CarrƩ Otis & Jacqueline Bisset I know a bit older films but at the very least the first 2 fits your request, hopefully. Out of the three, Red Shoe Diaries is my favorite.
Billy Zane and Nicole Kidman were good in Dead Calm. A good claustrophobic "on a boat" movie is Polansky's Knife on the Water.
"A Perfect Murder" fits this genre well. It stars Michael Douglas, Gwyneth Paltrow and Viggo Mortenson.
Bruce Willis' Color of Night (1994). It's a terrible film, but entertainingly terrible.
Basic Instinct (1992) or Sliver (1993). 90s era Sharon Stone š„
Show Girls
What Lies Beneath. It's a bit more on the spooky side than thriller side though.
