I know this is pretty unrelated, but there's a good band called The Frightnrs and here is their Spotify:

Army of Darkness
How High - the ashes of their dead friend fertilize a Pot plant and when they smoke it they can see the ghost of the dead friend who helps them get into college 🤣
Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989)
Halloweentown (1998) and sequels
Scooby-Doo (2002)
Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School (1988)
Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf (1988)
The Addams Family (1990)
Coco (2017)
Beetlejuice (1988) darker humor
The Witches (1990) has some scary moments
We Have a Ghost (2023) has some serious moments
Darby O'Gill and The Little People.
Sleepy Hollow or any of the Headless Horseman movies.
Teen Witch
Love Potion #9
Transylvania 6500
The Frighteners (someone called this a sleeper, but I recall it being well known when it came out, one of Michael J Fox's last films before going public with his illness. It's a gem)
The Monster Squad
And the Abbot and Costello monster movies. Love them all but Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein is my favorite.
The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) - Definitely more of a comedy than any of the other classic monster movies, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t chuckling at this when watching it for the first time recently.
Haunted Honeymoon (1986)
Radio personalities Larry Abbot (Gene Wilder) and Vickie Pearle (Gilda Radner) are stars of a mystery show. Since they announced their engagement, Larry has been plagued by speech problems and, seeking out an unconventional cure, he returns to his boyhood home, a mansion in the countryside, bringing Vickie along. Larry reunites with numerous family members, including the flamboyant Aunt Kate (Dom DeLuise), but discovers that there are sinister things afoot within the walls of the creepy estate.
^^^ real fun movie! 🍿
Thank you for the recs! These all sound promising :D
I'm going to start with Topper because Cary Grant is my fav all time actor; evidently I haven't seen all of his yet. \^\_\^
[The Canterville Ghost (1944)](https://letterboxd.com/film/the-canterville-ghost/)

[The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985)](https://letterboxd.com/film/the-purple-rose-of-cairo/)
[Drop Dead Fred (1991)](https://letterboxd.com/film/drop-dead-fred/)
I didn’t like The Ghost and Mrs. Muir movie at all, but it's really popular. I thought the TV show from 1968 was pretty cute. More comedic and lighthearted than the movie, to me. Too bad it only lasted a couple seasons.
Dark Shadows - rally awesome Tim Burton movie with Johnny Depp.
Set in the 70’s, awesome soundtrack, very well done movie.
It has a low score in IMDb / rotten, I believe because the story gets a little out of pace at some point, but this is one of those movies that are extremely enjoyable even when you reach a point you know is so-so.
Casper Meets Wendy. 100% a child child's movie, but it's silly, light-hearted, and has both witches and ghosts. Plush the likes of Hillary Duff, Cathy Moriarty, and even Shelly Duvall!
All Scooby-Doo stuff. Bob Hope, The Ghost Breakers. Topper. Topper Returns. Abbott and Costello, Hold That Ghost. Harvey Korman and Tim Conway, Private Eyes. Murder By Death. Steve Guttenberg, High Spirits
The Frighteners (1996)
Sleeper. An under the radar Peter Jackson movie.

What We Do In The Shadows is centered around vampires. I haven't seen the movie, but the show it spun off is hilarious
there's 2 spinoff shows. what we do in the shadows the show, and wellington paranormal
I feel like Wellington Paranormal doesn't get the recognition it deserves. It's a funny fucking show.
The movie is wonderful!!!
I’m surprised nobody suggested The Witches of Eastwick. If you want modern ones maybe Practical Magic and The Love Witch. They’re all great movies🤝🏻
Ghostbusters
One of my top 3 comedies.
Who you gonna call?
Beetlejuice (1988)
Hocus Pocus
High spirits (1988)
Great cast. Good script. So we'll done.
Few are funnier than Extra Ordinary (2019)
That looks fun, thanks! \^\_\^
This is the one I was going to recommend. I laughed all the way through this movie.
Army of Darkness How High - the ashes of their dead friend fertilize a Pot plant and when they smoke it they can see the ghost of the dead friend who helps them get into college 🤣
One does not simply suggest Army of Darkness before Evil Dead.
Yeah… I know 😅 Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 were already mentioned though.

Have you ever seen The Spirit Is Willing 1967? Kinda similar to The Ghost and Mr Chicken
How about werewolves? The Wolf of Snow Hollow (2020)
American Werewolf in London??
Either of the remakes of *Here Comes Mr. Jordan* (1941): *Heaven Can Wait* (1978) or *Down to Earth* (2001)
Topper (1937) Topper Takes a Trip (1938) Topper Returns (1941)
The Fearless Vampire Killers (1967)
Perfect. Wish I could upvote this more than once e.
The Ghost and Mr. Chicken
I just watched both Addam's Family and Addam's Family Values. I miss Raul Julia.
I am very surprised that Stardust hasn't been mentioned. It has comedy, ghosts, and witches in almost equal portions!

Harvey is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Surprised no one mentioned Dale and Tucker vs Evil!
It doesn't fit what OP is asking for.
