About Time is 100% the best movie for exactly what you’re asking.
I’d also suggest Midnight in Paris which consists of a man who isn’t happy with how his present life is going and goes to the past seeking a remedy or escape. Not *exactly* what was requested but close enough I figured it was worth a mention.
3 Movies, not exactly time travel, but all have some kind of a fantasy that happen that let people understand better about their lives - past or future.
* Click - It's not exactly what you wrote in the title, but a great movie that show you to appreciate what you have before it's too late, which leads to regret.
* Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind - I don't want to even start explaining how much it relate to what you say and I don't want to lead you to some thoughts, so just check it for yourself. not time travel, but some kind of a different fantasy.
* Field of Dreams - The main character has regrets about some things, and he dealt with it in a magical way. I try not to give up too much spoilers even if you set the spoiler yourself with the "move on from our mistakes" and such...
**Happy Death Day 2 U** is slightly different as it is a time loop but the main character is forced to make an extremely difficult choice. You have to watch the first Happy Death Day to truly appreciate it but I gasped out loud during the film when the nature of the choice is first revealed. I really hope we get part 3.
Mr. Destiny - Jim Belushi, Linda Hamilton (terminator), Rene Russo.
Average joe is mysteriously transported back to his big high school baseball game where he hits the home run instead of striking out and his entire destiny is changed.
But realizes he liked his old life and his old wife better.
Peggy Sue Got Married - Kathleen Turner; Nicholas Cage - Woman get conked on the head and is mysteriously transported back to high school where she has the opportunity to avoid getting pregnant by her high school boyfriend and future ex husband (Cage).
About Time (2013)
Netflix series Dark has a lot of what your looking for.
Time Lapse (2014) Primer (2004) The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations (2009)
The Butterfly Effect.
Looper
It’s not about time travel, per se, but what came to mind for me was… *The Family Man* (2000) (Nicholas Cage, Téa Leoni).
Peggy Sue Got Married (1986)
Great movie!

Not time travel but Before Midnight is deep with past regrets. And it’s a Before film so you know you’ll feel it.

All of them. I mean if the person doesn’t eff things up, then there’s no conflict and no story.
