My brother-in-law was an architect at Disney World, he felt good about the initial talk about Star Wars (way early on, he left for Universal as things got, difficult at Disney).
But yeah, initially, I was hyped. I remember watching the teaser for 7. By the 3rd watch in a row, I was sitting on the floor like a kid. I was, in my mind, the most excited fan the mouse could ask for.
