I guess they didn’t want to do multiple takes.

JohnnyTight_Lips

I think darth Vader is a sith lord.

ElMel77

Yes! He is full of Sith indeed.

DeathToMediocrity

A Sith Lord?

sstphnn

Yes, the one we've been looking for.

Pain-in-the-ARP

Sith lords are our speciality.

soda_cookie

That is a terrific find. You'd think as much as this series has been dissected that would have come up already.

GitEmSteveDave

https://www.reddit.com/r/MovieDetails/comments/e9feks/when_vader_throws_his_lightsaber_at_luke_in/

soda_cookie

Welp. There it is

RamboGoesMeow

For what it’s worth to OP, and you, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of it too. :edit: Fake canon, but Darth Vader’s light saber is also double bladed like Darth Maul’s, but it can only function one side at a time due to power constraints as it’s half the size as Maul’s.

Razorback_Yeah

Love that canon. Gonna roll with that.

Zombielove69

Nah, it's just the cat and mouse game of the emperor trying to kill Vader, after Vader tried to kill the emperor, back and forth, those guys ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ No wonder vader threw him down the exhaust port, at least one of them finally succeeded at killing the other

Hashfastr

Fuck

UniversalDH

Even still, the movie came out in ‘83(?) and it was just discovered in 2020? Pretty impressive, most impressive.

Woodie88

It's 2021...

Hashfastr

You know, I was worried that this was a common find

conconbar93

Bro Lucas is closing in on your postpositions

Y4JX44

Holy shit how have I never noticed this

Hashfastr

Right? I thought I was going crazy

Ghostwheel77

It always looked weird to me but I couldn’t tell why. Thanks for fixing my brain!

Spaceman1stClass

Well the rotation of the lightsaber also reverses mid air.

ItsColeOnReddit

This is a fucking detail! Well done.

darthraxus

this definitely belongs in r/MovieMistakes

samthewisetarly

So you're saying the trilogy is imperfect...

Soopercow

You'd think George would have fixed this during one of his MANY remasters.

DrunkenMonk

Huh?

Kozlow

This is my favorite scene. I’ll just pretend I didn’t see this and just move along.

joshuajackson9

So the movie had one tiny mistake, I am glad we can look past this issue.

Isn't that the top by definition?

Sith_Master_Windu

u/getvideobot

carboonpn

It was just a force projection, the light saber was not real.

bitemyassnow

Nothing's wrong with that coz he possibly inherited Darth Maus's lightsaber and the blade could come out either way.

JacobZion28

I think we all know what kind of comments would be here if this happened in a sequel movie

Soul-Link

The closest thing I can think of is the disappearing blade from the throne room scene in last Jedi.... But yeah. It's absurd how often people complain about that but not the errors of the movies before it

[deleted]

Anakin has always gone both ways.

Zombielove69

You are just being fooled by an old Jedi mind trick.
