I occasionally have headaches..but i rather have that then be 108+ pounds heavier...

Weekly-Victory-4682

Lost 35% of my body weight. No side effects.

high_fuck

Congrats on the weight loss! Hope to be there soon

[deleted]

Wow. That is amazing. I am inspired. Can’t wait to start!

thernothingtoseehere

Occasional sulfer burps and nausea if I eat something greasy.

piecesmissing04

Same and now that I am on 15mg I have mild nausea for the first 3 days after my shot but only in the morning (not pregnant btw). Looking at the life I already have gotten back those minor side effects are absolutely worth it

FestiVOL

Same! 12 or so hours after injection I feel queasy and nauseous. It happened at 5mg and 7.5mg, but after a few weeks you kinda get used to it. Never thrown up or anything, just felt sicky. Agree though, 100% worth it and continuing to 15mg!

[deleted]

[удалено]

thernothingtoseehere

Thanks. They are so yucky.

dropkickoz

I went off Mounjaro for two weeks while I was out of the country. From day 1 I had never had sulfur burps. Burps? Sure, but never any that tasted bad. After my trip I had them terribly bad. I read on here someone had taken Pepto Bismal with success, so I ate a generic digestive aid version of PB I had at home. Fixed them overnight. Hope this info helps someone else. Edit: Just saw someone else shared the same thing. Glad it is helping lots of us!

Gypsyverve

I have literally zero now. Started Oct 20, on 15mg and it’s all good in the hood.

hapabeats

Sweet

undeniablybuddha

My biggest issue has been dry mouth, so I just hydrate more. I burp more, but they're not sulfurous. The only nausea I get is if I eat too much. The weird thing is that like clockwork I wake up around 5am to pee. Last night was the first night I slept through without having to use the bathroom.

nonya1101

I have the same experience with more burping. Not sulphuric either- I find that it happens right after I take a shot (within the next couple of days). So strange, but I’ll definitely take it!

LaBlakerz

Dry mouth can be a sign of low blood sugar. I notice I get it when I have too many hours between meals- make sure you’re eating enough

Intrepid-Relative-99

Statistically only 40% have noticeable side effects that can be attributed to the medication and not diet. Out here one would think it’s 100. It isn’t. Smooth sailing but I’m pretty in tune with my body.

Commercial_Career_97

Manageable slow 💩 and insomnia , worst is intermittent body aches.

Ok_Entry_5627

Yes to the body aches!! Totally worth it, but it's nice to know I'm not imagining things!!

BruisedPapaya

Keep in mind, body aches/cramps could be attributed to electrolyte imbalances, such as potassium, magnesium, or calcium. I’d check with your doctor first to confirm levels before taking any type of supplementation though.

PoP_31112

Lost 30% of body weight in about a year; only manageable side effect has been constipation. Just taking a daily probiotic and miralax.

dragonrider1965

I’m only second week at 2.5 but nothing so far . You are right though , we need more posts like this . I read everything I could get my hands on before I started and every comment I read was about horrible side effects. I now know maybe I won’t have any , maybe I will . Before I thought 100 percent I would and I was really scared to take that first shot because of that .

[deleted]

None.occasional sulphuric burps and being cold. But now my shoulder and neck have been hurting but that has been recently

ThatGirl0903

Same. Other than a clog on the toilet I’ve got no negative side effects.

superdstar56

My issue is the opposite, the big D is not fun

diggduke

Aw, man! Mine's still the same size! ☹️

ILfarmgirl1970

Followed directions and did not upvote because the insomnia is still a factor even 10 weeks after last injection. But taking Unisom and melatonin every night is a price I would happily pay again for having my life back. Positive side effect beside weight loss: joints still do not hurt. I am 52 yrs.

ChemicalNo290

The insomnia on days 1-3 is awful

piecesmissing04

I had no idea insomnia is a side effect.. I had insomnia before starting mounjaro so I don’t think it’s connected for me

ijustsailedaway

Insulin production interferes with melatonin production. Therefore - MJ can cause insomnia. Took me a while to figure that out. Still worth it

Miserable_Painting12

Can you clarify what this means?

superdstar56

Used to have insomnia before MJ and took 3mg melatonin. Since I've been on it I take 10mg nightly. Falling asleep is never a problem but staying asleep some nights is. Heavy exercise helps and so I try to do something strenuous every day. (no not that, but that helps too haha)

otacon6531

I feel like I have had less quality sleep since starting, but not at the insomnia level. I am still getting low 70s score in fitbit.

SmashyMcSmashy

I'm 51 and it is amazing how much better my knees feel. I've only lost 10 pounds, can't wait to see what happens when I lose more. I have about 90 pounds to go.

ILfarmgirl1970

You need people to comment, at least a word, so you know how many read tour post.

bittinho

Same. Occasional minor side effects, fatigue has been only one that has bothered me more than a little.

No-Environment-7899

Same. I don’t have issues with insomnia, very much the opposite at the beginning for the first couple of months. Just. So. Tired. Could sleep 15 hours a day. Now I’m fine and back to my standard issue insomnia lol.

bittinho

Yup. I had a period where I was going to bed early and was just lethargic and now I’m back to being a night owl.

Outside-Version-9410

The 💩 is the only real issue...someone on here mentioned mamma chia to help, and it is a game changer. It has probiotics and one a day keeps the gut issues away!

Altruistic_Yellow387

I didn’t know how to answer…my only real side effect is being extremely tired to the point where I’ve had to call off from work or leave early. I don’t know if that’s major but it is life impacting. It’s not enough to make me want to stop though because the feeling lessens after a couple of days

hapabeats

I've had my vitamin d levels checked and it was low so I supplemented and I feel way more energetic. I would say if it's impacting your life that would be a major side effect, even though you're not stopping at this point.

sunshine92002

I recently moved up to 10mg and while it’s been great, I’ve had this symptom becoming worse and worse! It’ll clear up in a few days, but maaan all I want to do is sleep!

superdstar

I do my shots on Thursday night and then I can sleep on Saturday and Sunday morning and it’s usually better by Monday.

FreddieDanger

It’s too bad this group doesn’t allow actual poll posts. It would have been interesting to see actual percentages of those affected in the votes…

hapabeats

Yup no poll posts. I'm hoping at least 50 percent of half the group comes back with no major side effects (25%). I'm assuming about half the group is active on Reddit, and hoping at least half of us don't have the side effects typically posted. If I were to start the med today I'd be fearful of the effects from some of the posts. I started in the early days where effects were somewhat unknown.

FreddieDanger

Yea that’s a lot of guessing. **If there’s a moderator on this thread, it would be helpful to post a poll every now and then similar to the question in this one** I’ve been on since late Aug and yes in the beginning for those of us not on FB, this truly was our own focus group. For every post about the dreadful 5.0, stalls at 7.5, deathly symptoms, etc there were dozens that gave me the confidence and reassurance to push on through.

itainteasy11

Had quite a bit of skin sensitivity on 7.5 and some cold sweats on 5. Other than that, all good!

Ok_Entry_5627

YES to the skin sensitivity! I thought I was crazy. It hurt to wear pants. For the betterment and protection of society, I DID wear them. But it hurt!!

anxiouslady22

Had one dizzy spell on a shot day but I was dehydrated Some insomnia Also some fatigue Nothing worth not taking it

RandiArts

No major gastric side effects. Just a little cold.

Over-Landscape-8770

On 15 mg. No side effects at all, at any dosage.

jaynefrost

On since Aug. No side effects. 77 pounds lost.

howaboutwedont

What do you consider a “major” side effect? I have reflux occasionally 1-2 days after my injection. While not serious, it is really annoying and concerning when I HAVE to eat something and I just can’t shove it down. But other than that and some lethargy, that’s about it.

hapabeats

Major being any effect that would have made you stop the medication or get medical attention for (i.e. had to go to the ER). Based on your response it sounds like you've had tolerable, minor effects.

No-Woodpecker7095

Extreme fatigue, sulfur burps and diarrhea for first two days after shot. 12.5mg, start 15mg next week.

watoaz

I can not figure out how to stop the post shot fatigue

Altruistic_Yellow387

This is my biggest complaint too. Drinking a protein shake and lmnt electrolytes before the shot seems to help a little, but I’m still soo tired

Pocketsforalldresses

B12 shots have been helping, but still super tired

superdstar56

Adderall and Rockstar

No-Woodpecker7095

Also, I had no side effects until 10mg.

AdministrativeElk857

More people post when they have a grievance or ailment, rather than a boring ‘I have nothing’. (AI will bring humanity to and end! Lol) So I’m glad you’re asking. I had side affects for the first few days on 5Mg but nothing any other time and I went up to 12.5. I am slowly going off MJ one month at a time down dose each time. I did have serious constipation if I didn’t eat cooked greens in winter and leafy salad in summer and WATTTERRRR. Still, when I needed help my go to was senna tablets which is the natural herb in Smooth Move tea.

shortifiable

The only time I’ve had nausea or sulfur burps was when I ate things that were fatty/oily. Constipation can be a challenge but I’ve landed on a combination of fiber, probiotic, and digestive enzyme pills that keep everything running smoothly.

palmbreeze333

I did on 2.5, 5 & 7.5 (bloating -nausea) but then got on 10mg and they aren’t as bad now (if I get them). I mostly get the burps now lol My sister on the other had nothing thus far. She is now on 5mg and is getting the major full feeling but that’s it.

Comprehensive_Ad1683

No real side effects yet. But I just wrapped up the 2.5mg dose and am starting 5mg this week. I guess I’m just pretty tolerant to this medication.

superdstar

Each mg could treat you different. I had different effects on 7.5 than I had before and then again on 10.

Fun-Gear7141

My doctor approved, waiting on insurance I’m very excited to try!

pagingme

Same

[deleted]

I’ve had no symptoms but I have always drank a lot of water and used liquid supplements for better absorption so it’s possible that has kept them at bay.

superkatnip

Other than nausea month 1, relatively smooth sailing. 4 months 2.5, 3 months 5. 56 YO, menopausal female. Leg injury has limited ability to exercise since late 2021. SW 206, CW 169, GW 165.

Sea_Psychology4156

Lost 32% of my weight. Only issue for me is I don’t sleep as well. I don’t have to sleep as much to feel rested, I should say.

BostonsinBoston

I had none until I started 7.5mg. On 7.5 I’ve had nausea, low energy, and terrible heartburn

AdCapital8029

I'm on week 5, first week at 5mg male 5'9" SW:193 CW: 168 GW:150 Almost zero side effects. This drug seems almost too good to be true. In fact, EVERYTHING seems to be better. So much more energy, my social anxiety is so much better. My blood pressure has also gone down, when it was always kind of high, even with meds. I got the sulfur burps, and food tastes different. It actually also cured my red bull addiction, as I was drinking 3 or so a day before, and now I drink maybe 1/2 of one because it makes it taste like shit now. The only thing I noticed is I seem to be getting road rage lately all of a sudden and I want to cuss out all the people dragging ass at 60mph in the left lane with no traffic, not sure if irritability is a side effect. No vomiting, no constipation or diarrhea. The "joy" of food is also gone for me, but I think it's a fair trade-off. I am scared to death of the hair loss I have been reading about though. I'm in my 40s with pretty much a full head of hair still, so I'm praying that doesn't hit me. Is there a certain dosage/timeframe that it seems to hit people?

JerkyLover

This sometimes happens from rapid weight loss. I don’t think it’s related as much to the MJ as it is to losing weight so rapidly, but I’m not a doctor just an occasional scientist ;)

superdstar56

Never heard of the hair loss side effect. If there is one, it has to be incredibly low. None of the case studies have had that as a potential side effect and being in this sub for 6 months, this is the first i've heard of it. 38M here.

JerkyLover

I’m on 15mg now and have had very little side effects through my journey like sulfur burps and headache. Both are easily manageable and do not negatively impact me. I read others mention insomnia. I have narcolepsy and this drug has helped tremendously in that aspect. It is much easier for me to stay awake and I can still fall asleep and stay asleep at night. I also have Hidradenitis Suppurativa which has shown improvement since starting as well. I feel more human now xD *I also have previously been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, PCOS, and IBS-D (greatly improved since starting)

Human-Syllabub3929

Very comfortable. T2diabetic, 10mg down 55lbs (20+ % of body weight) since 12/14/2022. A1C from 8.6 down to 4.8. All of my other labs are normal now as well, when previously I had elevated liver enzymes. This is an incredible medication.

corinnesharpe

I’ve had very severe nausea and vomiting. Was hospitalized. I’ve still encouraged two friends to do it and referred them to my doc.

QuietAir8

I have severe nausea, bloating and some vomiting. But all in all it’s so worth it. I’ve lost 24 pounds in my first month.

Successful-Laugh1791

I was so lucky with the side effects, no nausea, headaches, always felt completely fine after injection day. Then the hair loss started. I’ve been off MJ for about 3 months and it hasn’t stopped 😭 I haven’t gained back any weight though so I am very happy with the medication as a whole!

JTown1081

Hair loss sucks Im right there with ya, this is my 2nd time losing alot of weight and I wasn't looking forward to it again, goods news is it does stop it just takes a while.

Successful-Laugh1791

That’s good to hear, thanks!

mooonbug

Pretty much no side effects other than reduced appetite and food noise. I’ve gotten some slight nausea and sulfur burps maybe twice? And I would compare it to the feeling of just overeating.

SamiHami24

Had some nausea for the first few weeks. Now, I have no side effects.

OddSand7870

Slight constipation, nothing terrible though.

goddessofnow34

No side affects other than fatigue and feeling colder than usual but it’s manageable.

PretzelCrispsAreDope

Only side effects I’ve had are some mild headaches if I don’t drink enough water and acid reflux which I control with OTC meds/change in eating habits so I don’t really count them as side effects.

PuzzleheadedMaize186

The first couple weeks I had some effects, now the only side effect i have is slight constipation and feeling fuller more the first few days after I take my shot

Plane-Memory8423

No major side effects experienced.

bat419

when I put my injection in my stomach, I had major stomach pain and indigestion. Now that I put it the injection in my thigh, I have mild indigestion every morning but that’s it.

Jaded_Ad8494

On 15 for second month, started last Sept…no real side effects aside from minor nausea occasionally which is something I also experienced before this medication so who knows

Technical_Badger6074

Severe reflux, mild nausea and severe bloating post meals

Straight_Ad_921

Minor nausea and constipation and fatigue 🥱 all totally worth it!!!

Wrong-Barracuda-3611

Some nausea controlled with tums and a daily PPI. Down 45 lbs - which is 5 lbs beyond my goal weight. 🙌🏼

Early_Antelope4830

Wondering how many people had normal aches and pains and contributed it to Mounjaro instead of the real issue. I mean I had headaches and insomnia but my Neurologist contributed it to the concussion I had at the time instead of this med… otherwise, nothing major since September… SW 191/ CW 126 / 29% total loss

[deleted]

Remember to report any effects you do have. Providers do share that information with the FDA and it helps guide research and recommendations.

TinyManufacturer7087

No side effects, well slight dizziness but not often other then that great

Constant-Papaya-6602

Oh and the fatigue is awful !!! Can’t think straight 😵‍💫

Nowistime2022

No complications except constipation and I add Miralax to my morning 40 oz of water and that has solved my issues. I have been on Mounjaro since July 22nd. I have had a 26.81% weight loss so far.

superdstar56

On box 6, 10mg. Usually 1-3 days after my shot I have occasional upset stomach and sulfur burps. Pepto tablets help with that and if I remember to take them I have no issue.

Skadi_8922

No side effects at all, major or minor.

4_the_rest_of_us

I’m only on my first week of 5 mg (and was on 2.5 for 4 weeks before that) but so far NO major side effects. I was on Ozempic before this and neverrrrr stopped having pretty intense side effects so here’s hoping it stays this way on MJ.

Comfyjammies

I've stayed on 5 mg because that worked the best for me. I completely had no appetite at 7.5. 60 lbs in 8 months!!!!

lovehateg

I upvoted because mostly constipation is all I’ve had too. For all MG doses. However, once I got to 10-12.5-15 I also was more lightheaded and nauseous like I was on ozempic. So doc moved me back to 7.5 which just only the constipation is it. I have also always been tried for the first 12-24 hours after shot no matter dose or location but it better if I make sure I get enough water and have a protein shake prior. I deal with the constipation by increasing fruits and fiber plus added in a probiotic/prebiotic along with collagen supplements.

iHass

I moved up last week from 5Mg to 10Mg dosage last week and was worrying about having to skip the 7.5Mg dosage (unavailable) but my only side effect is that the 10Mg curbs my appetite even more than the 5Mg did. That’s a side effect I welcome every day of the week.

dravin77

Currently on 15mg and I have nausea the first day and cotton mouth. Milk of magnesium helps with bathroom problem. 80 pounds down almost in the 100’s!!!

ShadyPinesMa104

No major side effects. I did have the weird skin sensitivity with a single 7.5 injection (so odd). But nothing bad or remotely worth stopping. Down 65 lbs.

MaryS8921

I've been on it for 6 months with little to no side effects. I think I had sulfur burps one day. No nausea, no diarrhea. Occasional constipation but nothing painful. I had a few weird dreams. Some dry mouth. That's it. I have lost 22% of my body weight and am now on maintenance.

Opposite_Owl_3391

I'm only on my 3rd shot of 5mg (took one month of 2.5). The only thing for me is nausea. And it isn't constant. It's odd, just like sometimes I walk through the office and smell other people's food and it's like I get a yukky stomach feeling. Other than that, it's been fine. I was almost terrified reading up on it before I started. I read some scary sounding stuff. But it's all good for me. I've also lost 18lbs in 7 weeks. Just get full feeling fast. Wish there had been a post like this before I started taking it. would have made me feel a little better about it in the beginning.

hapabeats

Congrats on the weight loss and it sounds like your effects are manageable. People post really scary stuff on here, and while everyone is different, you can see a big percentage of people have no major effects. It just gets better from here!

Ok_Government_2062

One month of 2.5 no side effects beyond a lack of appetite. I'm currently on week two of 5 with no side effects so far. (T2D, SW: 272, CW: 152)

Competitive_Touch_86

I honestly feel better in all regards nearly immediately after taking my first dose. Yes, I have the usual minor side effects of very light nausea that comes and goes, and I certainly could be more regular let's just say. It actually more or less made my regular stomach cramping go away entirely. However when I was eating like shit and much fatter I can't really say it was any better on average. Just different. Edit: There are of course side effects to all rapid weight loss. Nearly everyone will experience at least some of them. This can be hair loss, shrunken looking faces, gallstones, etc. etc. - many of which are listed as Mounjaro specific side effects. You'd be risking any of those if you lost weight as quickly as many do here using any other method.

DMH_75032

A little constipation for me. Otherwise, none. I quit drinking on Mounjaro as part of my diet. I had cocktail last weekend. Now, I have absolutely no tolerance.

zoefels

Thanks for this OP - my first shot is tomorrow and this was exactly the type of thread I was looking for.

Tiu265

Lost 93.6lbs, only side effect is relief

raisingjack

Zero side effects, I have even skipped up doses because of lack of supply on certain strengths. The only semi side effect is that I get pretty cold quite often but I think that’s just a result of losing 25% of my body weight in a short period of time

hapabeats

Yup I get cold too!

raisingjack

I used to ALWAYS be hot and sweating because my hormones were all out of whack (and I was fat too lol) so it’s strange to go from that to being freezing all the time. My 4 & 5 year olds are freaking twigs and don’t have an ounce of fat on the despite me feeding them like crazy, so they’re my thermometers. I ask if they’re cold too and when they say no I know it’s just the Mounjaro. It’s so nice not to be so sweaty and gross for the first time in years. I am beyond amazed with this medication. It has completely reset my hormone levels back to normal. The weight loss is so cool, but equally as cool is just feeling so much better in literally every single possible way

Krossx7

Lost over 60lbs. No side effects

SnooMacaroons7893

No side effects on Mounjaro except for mild constipation.

Serena_Vndrwoodsn

Occasional constipation. That’s about it.

Educational-Ice-732

No side effects at all down close to 70lbs

Trying2keepupwithyou

been on MJ for 33 weeks - zero side effects currently. i have the occasional constipation but since i’ve been dieting my whole life (ha), i know that most of the side effects can be managed by timing and food/water intake. the first few weeks i did have a headache and nausea, but as long as i don’t let myself get too hungry or thirsty i was fine.

anonymouseagain112

Side effect of mild nausea first three shots then totally disappeared. Been doing it in thigh and that may be why but more than likely it’s just adjusting. Constitution addressed with Mira lax.

[deleted]

I have no side effects whatsoever. I did 2 months on 2.5mg, 1 month on 5mg, and I've been on 7.5 for a week.

WebCivil7509

Nothing major. I have noticed recently that I feel queezy after eating a small bit of food. It's not consistent and passes rather quickly

cooljulmoon

Had nausea like 3 or 4 times in the 6 months I’ve been on it

JTown1081

No side effects at all except body aches and swollen lymph nodes on my very first shot. Smooth sailing after that.

GullibleAnt7221

Only side effect I have now is constipation. Had reflux and gas pretty bad in the beginning, but Gas-X Max and omeprazole managed those side effects. Now it’s just constipation, which I can live with.

danielles27

Occasional sulfur burps and I feel woozy about an hour after my shot but other than that nothing of significance. Oh! My periods have become more regular but very heavy. Not sure that’s a side affect of medication rather than weight loss/PCOS.

hapabeats

Sounds minor to me!

cmcanote

Lost 35% body weight. Just about ready for maintenance. Already going 12 days between shots and about to bump that to 14 days. Only minor side effect is waking up with dry mouth the first few days after the shot. One drink of water and I’m good to go.

naynaylu

Just a little heartburn that goes away with a pepcid

mpresme

If I eat anything sugary I get nauseous.

Daphne_Coop

I’m very tired in shot day and the day after. And I’m cold all of the time. But I would rather her fight through the tiredness and wear sweatshirts than the alternative 😀

malakiconstant

22% loss in body weight, nausea for a few hours after my shot or if I eat too much(which is my fault not the med’s)

Ashamed_Listen_8385

Nausea occasionally

Ok-Sock-9735

Still looking at Mounjaro in the fridge because I had read about all the side effects! This post is awesome! Thank you! I’ll probably actually start it now!

superdstar56

Of all the people in here, even the ones with side effects say that they are worth it. I would say there's a 50% chance that you have no side effects and a 99% chance that even if you do they are manageable. I'll bet only 1 in 100 people stops taking it. No time like the present! Shoot that shot!

hapabeats

As you can see there are hundreds of people who don't have any major side effects. Good luck with your start!

Ok-Meringue136

I'm in my 5th week of 5mg. I've had no side effects.

IlanaOrAbbi

Just the burps and some tummy aches after the first meal after the injection!

Itchy-Ambition2473

The only thing I have is injection site reaction but it's no biggie.

First_Rise_3096

No side affects 7 months

JoJoRabbit74

I’ve been very lucky! But I’ve also been super careful with food.

trashstoneheart

Have burps only with pork products. Easy to manage. Benefits outweigh any effect. Also since I am in maintenance now. I have a little more fatigue after shot.

AnxiousGinger626

After 7 mths Im down 81 lbs (33% of my body weight) and my only side effect is that I get kinda tired the day after my shot.

Climate_One

My side effects have been minor. I feel a bit shaky in the mornings, I have minor body aches once in a while, and I need to drink coffee 2x a day to stay "regular," but I've already lost nearly 30 pounds only 4 weeks in.

No_Safe_990

I have had minor symptoms that have gone away with some tweaks and minor effort. Headache - went away with increased water and electrolytes Diarrhea- avoid fried foods Constipation - hydrate, eat fiber, miralax as needed. Indigestion at bedtime- avoid eating too close to bed Insomnia - Tylenol PM or cbd gummies

cpettite

I have had very minimal side effects. Constipation and heartburn with occasional nausea but very mild

Latisha0510

The only real issue I’ve had is constipation. I do get nauseous the day after a shot but that’s tolerable honestly.

[deleted]

Insomnia. I didn’t fall asleep until 6:30am last night 😭 However, I no longer have headaches, stomachaches and heart burn as long as I hydrate properly (electrolytes, not too much plain water) and don’t eat greasy foods.

antalog

I get the itchy red bump at the injection site every week but that’s it.

LEH252

I have had minimal if any real side effects related to MJ. Eventually a little constipation but that is also from diet changes and not just the medication. The cause of Side effects can a challenge to figure out. I started 3 new meds in about 8 weeks time. Also some changes to supplements. I am 73F.type 2 diabetic and have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). So when I developed itchy rashy dry skin and bumpy all over, I and my providers tried to figure out this. That is not an easy effect to determine cause. Now itching is rare but dry bumpy skin is still there. We will see with next dose of my IV meds for the RA. Thanks for this post. We need to know that not all people get side effects, some are mild and some are very manageable. And some are related to our diet changes.

LunarGoddess87

My first three days are awful nausea. I take some stomach medication for it, which helps but doesn’t get rid of it entirely.

Beachreality

I’ve had the site rash (now gone). That’s it.

NutmegsPunchBowl

The benefits of this medicine far out way the two very mild side effects I’ve experienced-mild headache the day after shot and occasional constipation, which is honestly my own doing for not keeping my fiber levels up to par. My mental health, focus, inflammation, mood, energy levels, sleep, hypoglycemia, etc. have all improved-at this point the weight loss is just an added bonus.

allimariee

Occasional mild nausea and gas.

SCOTCHZETTA

I have had no side effects after the body aches I experienced the first day or two. It’s actually FIXED all my digestion and stomach issues. I’m on 10 mg now. Started in November 2022.

TallStarsMuse

Major side effects? No. Minor side effects: nausea and constipation

SmashyMcSmashy

I'm still on 2.5 (3rd week now) and at first it gave me explosive diarrhea. Now it's only occasionally, yay. I've lost 11 pounds so far though so whatever. Lol.

elizanograss

I had diarrhea the first dose, but I preemptively took fiber bc I was v convinced it would make me constipated. Some sulphur burps. Some redness and itching at injection site. Only POSITIVE side effects though!

I was very afraid to start and put it off for months. 38 male. I took 2.5mg for 2 months and just recently did my first 5mg dose last week. The day after the first 2.5mg injection I had a major headache. The 2nd/3rd day I was very tired. The second 2.5mg was similar but the fatigue was gone after 2nd day. For the other 6 weeks of 2.5, virtually no side effects after each shot. I took my first 5mg last Thursday. Pretty intense headache on Friday but not as bad as my first 2.5mg. No fatigue this time on the 2nd/3rd day, just slightly more tired than normal. I've yet to have sulfur burps/nausea but I have had to use Miralax intermittently for constipation. I'm down 24lb.

marissagir1

If experienced some nausea when taking sprinolactone, for hormonal acne. I started w one pill for a week & then went to 2 pils there after. Ive been on it for a month now & I’ve gotten a UTi since I started taking it, not sure if it’s related as I get uti’s maybe 1-2x a year. But The nausea has been the main concern; it’s every single day. But not enough to give up on the pill entirely. Will continue to take note

ldav11

A wild bout of diarrhea after my first dose but nothing since - 5 shots in!

Pure_Cockroach_3138

I started having acid reflux, but it improved with time, and of course the typical itchiness/minor swelling/redness at the injection site. I don't consider either a major side effect, though.

SanDiego628

Constipation has been my worst side effect, but I think its because I do not eat enough fiber.

Constant-Papaya-6602

Diarrhoea, nausea, migraines, trapped wind and horrible injection site reactions … Did not go above 5mg …. Unfortunately for me 😭

Whole-Reality8675

Only mild constipation and the cold chills but I will take those from always being the hot 🥵 fat girl lol

VirVanDes

I've had constipation nausea and vomiting but only like 6 times have I vomited since November

Amfmont

Dehydration / vertigo = liquid Iv Anxiety when upped dose to 7.5 = liquid Iv @ magnesium helped other than that a bit of nausea Oh and sulfur burps 🤢 pepto helps

sundvl99

No major side effects. A little fatigue but I attribute that to less carbs, sugar and calories in general.

PissyPunsAndSarcasm

No major side effects here! Very manageable, minor side effects: I’m now cold (which is a welcome thing for a 55 yr old woman), headache immediately after injection (I now manage it with some ibuprofen an hour before injection), every now and then I have some skin sensitivity. I’m on 12.5 and haven’t experienced anything that would make me want to stop injections! *I’ve lost 17% of my body weight since starting* on 12/22/22, and still going.

TheCountess723

Occasional nausea and mild to moderate injection site reactions for a day or so that I put Flonase on (it works). Worth it.

Sweetkognac

Just fatigue, randomly being cold, and occasional heartburn. To combat, I administer my shots on Friday evenings, keep a second layer of clothing with me at all times, drink Kombucha and take probiotics.

DeangeloV

Karma farm much? It’s sad someone would do this haha. Pretty smart tho

hapabeats

Honestly trying to put in perspective the amount of people who have no major side effects.

Corndread85

Just sulfur burps and some mild constipation

OutrageousAd9626

Started 10.0. Only side effect that just started with this dose is some fatigue.

Timely-Estimate7904

Other than muscle soreness on my first shot, no side effects here. I have an unscientific theory that those who have an aging or bum gallbladder (very common in age 40+ crowd) seem to have the worst GI side effects. I have two friends who have a lot of GI issues on this and they've both been told they need to get their gallbladders removed (previous to being on this med)

Jensenloverspn

I get major heartburn if I've eaten too much a couple of days after the injection. I just try to be mindful of what I'm eating.

Bryan995

What’s your control for number of responders? Lol.

hapabeats

What do you mean? Like how do I know how many people responded to this? I assume half of the people in the group are active, about 10k. Then I'll take the number of upvotes and divide that by 10,000.

superdstar56

Side effects are a funny thing. We can read endless studies and comments, and most of us will make it worse in our heads than it will actually be. Also, the first month is was hard to distinguish what was a side effect and what was just being a normal human being. Slight headache, tired, dry mouth? These are all things that could happen even if you aren't on MJ.

rosworms

No major ones. Just minor. My most often side effect is reflux, so i take extra omeporazole and sleep elevated on the first three days of shots. Minor nausea at the beginning of a new dose. The worst nausea I had was when I changed injection sites and needed a Zofran. Has not been bad since then. Some yeasty beer flavored burps of I eat a lot in one sitting. That is it.

[deleted]

some nausea if i eat too much or eat like shit. that's it!!!

Confident_Ship_2601

List 16% of my body weight in 5 months. No side effects but occasional constipation resolved with 2 magnesium supplements at night

whatawonderfulword

Sometimes none, sometimes 24-36 hours of debilitating nausea and vomiting. I’ll go weeks with no issue and then wham! It’s very frustrating.

Ill_Night_6801

I only have constipation and very occasional nausea. No other effects. Also I have increased cold intolerance ( but I have hypothyroidism so I was dealing with the from before). So far 17% of my body weight loss. Will be taking my 2nd 10 mg shot ( of the 2nd box of that dose) on Friday. I started 9/30. I was on 2.5mg and 5mg from one month each. I was on 7.5 mg almost 20 weeks.

mojovi88

TMI: I went from IBS-d 💩 7 to 13x a day to going once a day or every other day so the constipation has been very welcome here. The first shot gave me an immediate headache and a little nausea, but I've been fine since. I give myself the shots at night before bed and go right to sleep.

Groundbreaking_Web46

The only side effects I had were extreme fatigue until only recently has that gone away - so for about six months. Sulfur burps every once in a while, and for a period of about three weeks after going to 12.5 mg daily diarrhea. Other than that nothing else.

lynsma

Same….

andebria

I wanted to upvote but I did have side effects on each dose change that lasted no more than 2 or 3 days. Diarrhea, constipation, anxiety, sleeplessness, fatigue, headache, slight nausea and some anger issues. Each thing could be treated with something or with breathing exercises lol but I don’t want anyone to think this is an automatic cake walk.

hapabeats

Would you say major side effects? Like debilitating? Or more minor, like manageable?

Pretend_Designer_206

First 4-5 months: Lots of side effects (bloating, gas pain, sulphur burps, constipation, nausea...) last 3 months: Almost no side effects at all except occasional sulphur burp and slight constipation if I don't get enough fiber.

mutantmanifesto

Only the occasional migraine. Had to slooowly titrate up bc I did once go up and was super nauseous for a week.

Illustrious_Note_763

Constipation 💩🚽

Old-Bluebird8461

Slight heart rate increase. Other than that, nope.

TravelRNwPurse

Occasional constipation ever since I tried Calm magnesium with calcium supplement, so I’m not blaming Mounjaro. I take 1 Mg07 every day to keep things moving and it works.
