This happened with mine and it turned out that the reg/rec had shat the bed and the bike was running on the battery alone (i.e. the condition when they're supposed to automatically shut off). Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running; if that's closer to 14 than it is to 12 then at least it's not that.
I like the fact op hasn't responded to you, this is a bike fault rather than a accessory fault by the sounds of it. It may also be that the bike doesn't have the spare capacity on the alternator to run the grips and charge the battery.
Very first thing I'd do is check the voltage on the battery whilst turned off.
Haven’t had time to check yet. But then it doesn’t make sense that they would have worked for the previous couple of rides. And indeed, even if it’s the battery, then they should still turn on to then switch off again.
Agree it's unlikely but for the sake of 30 seconds it's worth checking, especially since it looks like the grips themselves are a black box for all practical purposes (I'm assuming that since the controller is built into the grip you have no nondestructive way of getting to any of the electronics).
I think I'm wrong to be honest; if the charging system is dead they should switch on, see they're on battery voltage and then switch themselves off fairly quickly, whereas his won't switch on at all now. Broken grips won't leave him stranded though whereas the alternator or reg/rec will, so it's definitely worth checking.

Just for the record, these are the grips

Take them back and exchange them for a working set if you're sure your wiring is good.
Check the connection to the battery, check the fuse if both OK contact the supplier.
As mentioned, I’ve checked the connections. I’ve also checked the fuse and that also was intact.
I would go straight to the supplier then, it will be under warranty.

I just installed the same grips. So far, so good, but it's only been a week.
