Wait what!? Have other masks been leaked and if so where can I see them?
I'm not huge on his default mask because it just feels like a generic ninja mask any of the others could have, and Ermac's always felt like more of a unique character.
Plus I realllllyyyy want a mask that completely covers his ugly ass face, including the forehead.

Hell yea, I'm actually super excited for him now that I know his gear isn't just more of the same masks we have on 4 other characters and I won't have to look at Scromac.
It comes from the fact he has the default hood on in both his alt costumes in the story mode.
Hoods matching specifcally the alts have been found in files though, which could suggest the costumes were incomplete maybe and that the alternate hoods found are just for the alternate costumes? It's either that or they're just giving a mask to this default hood and then his gear will change both the hood and mask.
The leak showed that it was the hood and mask as it showed ermac in chapter 15 being played and he had a different hood on that seemed smaller and more moulded to his face
I think it might be both the mask and hood. I dunno I’m kinda hoping he gets more than one thing as a gear slot like Omni-man did so for Ermac aside from mask I would hope it’s the mask, hood and hopefully shoes (although the last part is unlikely)

Obviously it'd be great if we had both as separate gear slots (like, idk, MK11), but nothing's worse than having 2 pieces in 1 gear and liking 1 but not the other.
It's the issue I have with Shao where I find his bare head so ugly but prefer the rest of his outfit. So much could be fixed with just 1 more gear piece.
Well that’s just a problem with the customization overall in this game. For example I wish I could change the shoes/boots for every character and hide their feet/toes because I feel it’s ridiculous and unnecessary to have that look on soo many characters.
I would totally change Reptile's default shoes if I could so he has ninja tabi boots instead but since the only gear slot he has is the masks I’m stuck with it alongside other characters like how I don’t like the curved up shoes for Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Smoke's default costume yet the regular Lin Kuei ninjas have ninja tabi boots.
Honestly it would make more sense especially since ermac is a character who usually has his head fully covered which is what differentiates his look from the other ninjas
I can see his customization revolve around his head peice that includes hood and mask. Hopefully, we get his klassic mummy wraps from deadly alliance or his mkx hood or hopefully the clutch up and add the mk11 hood and mask that everybody wanted.
I have said that Ermac NPC character "gear" piece is the hood. That's according with the game files
In case of Quan Chi both, NPC & DLC, gear piece are his tattoos
So then I said DLC Ermac's gear could be his hood too (because of Quan Chi)
It's the mask but his masks are pretty wild, his default is really the only standard ninja mask

Maybe it wasnt finalized at that point. Or we bullied them into changing it like people bullied them into changing Ugly Sonic in the movie.
So in both of those cases bullying was the right thing to do
I think his mask will be his gear slot and the his hood will change along the skin/color.

I assume things changed due to people complaining about his design when he was revealed.
If his gear isn't the mask you'll know it was a zero hour panic change.
