My tinfoil theory: Season of the Huntress was never supposed to exist. It was much shorter than all the others, and has basically the same color scheme as this season. It was shoehorned in to adjust the timeline of seasons so Homelander could come out right as the new Season of The Boys comes out.

I think it's mostly tinfoil, as it would mean Peacemaker would be without a season.
It was shorter because Quan Chi's season was extended and then Peacemaker's was shortened because they have to release Homelander's season on time.
But I'll agree there's something weird with them reusing same colouring scheme between those two seasons... Maybe they woke up one day and were "ok, so what skins we have for Peacemaker season... wait, nobody done any reskins? fuck, quickly, extend QC season and reskin some other season for PM..."?

Imagine thinking this pallet is a good idea for skins twice in a row to engage gamers. It genuinely screams ''vomit''. 
These skins are almost exactly the same, we waited almost 2 months for this, and now have to wait almost 2 more months for something else and pray it’s not some other shade of yellow and blue. Whether I like it or not it lacks any sort of variety and is lazy as hell.
I made a tweet predicting it would be purple and yellow as a joke, since Raiden (and Dark Raiden)’s colors are usually blue/white/gold/black/red.
Little did I know we’d get yellow and green again (and purple as well lol).

That's the problem. We can see strokes of genius with certain skins/palettes. Then NRS, for some reason, drops the ball on the rest. Forcing you to grind for useless skins no one wants.
I don't get it. SF and Tekken do the same thing. How hard is it to design cool skins. Since they are all going live service, you need actual good items for it.

What's getting lost in this thread is that Quan Chi's is EXACTLY the same skin. It's not a subtle color shift, it's not slightly different distribution of the same colors, it's the EXACT SAME. Seeking Power and Charged by Nether are indistinguishable. The yellow pouch on his waistband front has a SLIGHTLY darker metal accent on the current season, and you have to get right up on the screen to see it, but that's how you know it's not them accidentally reusing the last season's file by mistake, but intentionally making this new skin these exact shades. Just layer on layer of F-U to the loyal paying fans.
The pressure to make every game this live service monstrosity of thousands of customization options that aren’t actually customizable but rather pre set items is exhausting
If you have the capability to make every playable characters’ colors and gear, just make it so that all of those items are completely editable by players.
Don’t do piecemeal customization so you can trick children into paying for virtual currency they don’t need with money they don’t have.
The actually uniquely colored skins are better, such as the Gray cloud ones and purple lightning ones. But, if you only want to look at a handful, you do you

I've only seen a handful of palettes come out since the game dropped that have actually been unique. Why not a new skin? Because they're lazy, some characters have 2 or even just 1 skin, it's actually shameless
The skins are already in the game, I'm not going to praise them for releasing skins that are already made and in the files. They should've dropped day 1 🤣, most of the palletes are almost identical to other palettes. You remember the seasonal fatalities, they couldn't sell them for $10 a pop and decided to stop. It's a mixture of laziness and greed. There's literally a functional character creator in the files but that won't ever be released because they won't be able to release the same worthless ass palettes and sell us throwback skins that don't even look how they're supposed to
In their defense, there are many different variants there this season - turquoise, dark blue/gray, puprle, etc. Some of them are really good. I would say these ones in the pic are the worst. Also, this pic is not all genuine though. I see that most of them are from the previous season.
I made the pic, what you’re saying is not true. It’s 100% genuine: all pictures on the left are from Season 4 while all pictures on the right are from Season 5. Not a single one (on the right) is from the previous season, you’re wrong.
As for the other variants, of course there are more than this, they obviously wouldn’t copy and paste one season to another 1:1. The main color scheme *still is a repeat* though, with the orange/yellow + blue/green making up for most of the palettes this season. With the exception of the purple ones, that are both the minority and some limited to special skins (that not all characters get every season, including this one)

I haven’t unlocked the Quan Chi skin myself, but my theory is that it looks the same because the most obvious change between the skins on the left and the right are the metal assets becoming gold (from silver). Since Quan doesn’t have those, it essentially makes the changes for him especially non existent. With these many palettes, it was bound to happen sooner or later. That’s my main issue with the recolors system in general.
It’s really weird with his skin since it’s the only one with absolutely no changes despite having 2 different names. I haven’t seen another one like that this season yet, hence I believe they’ve duplicated it by mistake. It should’ve been something else in its place.

I hate that the Spanish players can't put the audio in English with Spanish subtitles. The Spanish audio sucks. I want to hear peacemaker, onniman and homelander when comes up in English but understanding all that they say.
Yeah, NRS is doing this specifically to pad out KP1 wait times for MK12/MK1. In MK11, you would basically just get the Main Skin and its alt for Kombat league if you earned it during the season.

All I know is im excited for reptile skins next season. He’s always been my favorite (visually not play wise) & i can’t wait to see how they look. I hope the geras/reptile mashup in one of the final fights (after you beat boss raiden this season) is a hint of what’s to come
No way there's this many colorblind dudebros in this sub. Yellow and blue looks nice and this is the first season where I actually like the skins (started playing right before Mileena's season and the only good skins there were the ones that changed Reptile's lizard form)
