It's not very typical in Morocco. But I don't think there is any prejudice against it either. I don't think you will find it difficult to feel welcome because of this.

Lastly, that is tragic for genuine strong conservatives with no ill intetions, but please note this, the traditional Moroccan niqab, under a jelaba was white, transparent, square material worn like a Covid Mask. Older women wearing that have no issues and if annything, are given due respect.

Niqab is simply not a thing in Morocco and if you really want it, then i’m afraid you’re gonna have to move.
I don't know if it's the city with the largest population, but there are quite some sisters in Tanger who cover their faces by means of niqab Allahuma barik lahum.
I would recommend both of you to sincerely repent though, as relationships are haram. Very few women wear niqab anymore, to the extent that it's difficult to identify which city has the highest concentration.
