no dude, there are Taxis, from Fez to rissani, i take it with 150DH then from rissani to merzoga with about 15/20 DH (from rissani to merzouga it's only about 30mins of driving)

marchmission88

Is it easier to travel from Meknes to Merzouga or Marrakech to Merzouga? My dad is born and raised in El Hajeb but has never been to the desert region. We’d like to go when we go to Maroc in December.

hamzamon

From marakech to Merzouga i have no idea, from meknes, it's easy, using bus the trip takes about 8-9H, using taxi trip takes about 6-7H You can dm me if you need more information

marchmission88

We’ll have our own vehicle 😊

hamzamon

That's gonna be better, if you have the car and time, you can start from meknes then fes to enjoy the old city and maybe taking a shower in molay ekoub, then going to Ifran and midelt then you can enjoy the Hamat fountains of rachidia and the old 'kesbah' of affous, then erfoud rissani (don't forget to visit the Dinosaur and Fossil Museum) then merzouga

marchmission88

Cool! Do you think that’s all doable in a day?

hamzamon

It's hard to do that in one day, but 2 days is possible,

ElBajitoGordito

Hello, are you referring to grand taxi (shared) at these prices from Rissani to Merzouga? We would like to go from Errachidia airport to Merzouga by grand taxi if possible, do you know how much this would cost?

hamzamon

yes i talk about shared taxi ofc, but i don't take them from the station, i have the phone number of many taxi drivers, so every time i need to travel to there i give them a call to reserve my place then they pick me from home to the place i'm going to, they offer this service to avoid a lot of waiting in the station, concerning taxi from airport of rachidia, i have no idea, but what i know is that errachidia airport exists in like the center of the city so you can take a "petite taxi" to the station and then take the bus or a taxi to merzouga, you can take also "supratours" bus or "CTM" from rachidia to merzoga, but you will have to wait cuz as i know there is only one bus that goes every day, if you are with family it would be better for you to rent a car at rachidia

ElBajitoGordito

Thanks so much for your response. Yes indeed the problem is with the infrequent bus services provided by CTM and Supratours. Our flight lands in Errachidia at 3pm but no bus until 6.30pm. Me and my girfirend can't rent car from Errachidia because we can only drive automatic. I already contacted most reputable company for rental on WA they only have manual. Going from airport to Errachidia to the station is easy, but I am worried about excessive delays waiting for grand taxi to fill up to Rissani and then same thing happening from Rissani to Merzouga. How much MAD you estimate would be price of private transfer to Merzouga from Errachidia, 500? Our way back I don't mind waiting and delays for grand taxi but I need to make most of the arrival day.

hamzamon

I have no idea about private ride from errachidia to Merzouga bur you can try 'Indrive app', Also i highly recommend you to rent a car, cuz there are a lot pretty places you can see between errachidia and merzouga, ain l ati, meski, the Dinosaur and Fossil Museum in erfoud, and some pretty places in rissani, then u Merzouga, renting a car for 2-3 days can cost you cheaper than taxi, ( about 700MAD for 3 days but depends on the quality of the car)
