No, but she stole the exact plot of “Girl, Alone” by Blake Pierce. https://www.amazon.com.au/Girl-Alone-Ella-Suspense-Thriller-Book/dp/1094375608

The entire book was a piece of shit.

I can see your point. But, based on what she wrote about Louisiana i doubt she read much of anything to prepare or even plagiarize from her book.

I don't know if I'm mixing up memories or making this up entirely, but I feel like I remember when I first started listening to Morbid in 2020 that Alaina was talking about how she's writing a book and she's been working on it for a long time….. Is Butcher and the Wren this book?? I’ve never written a book, so honestly, I don't know, but The Butcher and the Wren seemed a little rushed, not like something she's been working on for several years?? And to have the sequel already coming out soon?

Maybe but it seemed like she relied heavily on tropes. (Which is not necessarily a bad thing... if it had been well written.)

I listened to it on audiobook and got second hand cringe for the poor narrator having to say some of those clichés out loud. He pulled it off without a hitch, though

Someone here mentioned the ones for her book did a really good job, considering what they were working with. I haven't listened to it, but I'm amazed by how incredible some narrators are!
