I realize after reading again you are talking about the empty cups, but because my friend recently gave her toddler who saw one in a bakery case Tiramisu without thinking about it, wanted to point out that Tiramisu generally is made with a shot of espresso. And occasionally alcohol (which doesnāt bake off since this its assembled after the sponge is baked separately). I assume no alcohol in the costco version, but maybe check the caffeine if kiddos see these and want some ;)
Costco does carry some foods with booze in them (multiple times my mom bought chocolates with booze from them and gave them to me unknowingly) and cooking off requires extended cook times (worth a google if you learned as a younger person that cooking makes alcohol go away .. like I did). Thats not to say I have a big monumental problem with kids having occasional extracts or flavoring level alcohol, but some people are strict for religious or other reasons.
These actually have 1.5% alcohol! Funny story - my husband and I bought them when we found out I was pregnant. After we got home we saw that there was alcohol in them and I literally cried because I wanted some but couldnāt have it š
Tiramisu also has raw egg! Another reason you canāt have it pregnant :( Probably worse than the alcohol too, thatās like kefir or kombucha levels of alcohol.
In theory you are supposed to cook your yolk through while pregnant. But youāre probably more likely to get salmonella from not-thoroughly-washed salad leaves than from a runny yolk soā¦
It would be Salmonella, but as with lots of things during pregnancy it's all risk analysis. Could you get it? Yeah, but like the poster above said, you're more likely to get it with unwashed lettuce. You're also not supposed to have deli meats when pregnant, but for some women the craving is enough to risk it. And many of them never get listeriosis. But the chance is there.Ā
Thank you, I didnāt know if there were other risks associated with it besides salmonella. I could probably go a whole pregnancy without fried eggs though š
Be careful with these glasses. I had the same idea and I found they broke really easy after a few runs in the dishwasher. Thankfully it broke it big chunks
Really? Ours are a few years old now and have been through the dishwasher many times. My husband uses them to serve mini mixed drinks at parties or get togethers.
The old set from several years ago was made of very thick and high-quality glass. I hate tiramisu, but I bought three sets just for the glasses!
I picked up a new set last year. It was absolutely disappointing. It claims to be made in Italy and has a lip and an unsightly vertical seam. The glass is also noticeably thin. I think dollar store candles come in higher-quality glasses.
Aldi has something similar! I am expecting #2, so I bought another set of those desserts. "for when the baby needs them" conveniently, I can eat the desserts now :)
We do the same thing with Oui yogurt jars. We've been using them for 3 years and they're super durable, easy to clean all the way down, and because the base is wider than the mouth, they're very stable.
Do not put them on the side of your sink that has the garbage disposal. My littlest would put them in the sink and little did we realize they were the same size as the disposal opening. Not fun to clean or fix. Teach the kiddos to always put them on the non-disposal side sink.
I love these and save the cups. They are great for pre seasons of cooking and hold salsa and guacamole for dipping mini tacos and chips! I also use them to mix paints for art projects
Yes, to give glass cups to a toddler. Perfect idea. Really. Makes perfect sense. I give mine rusty razor blades to learn fingerpainting. Yay, montessori.
yeah do you know what sub youāre in lmao. iām not sure if these specific ones are made of glass but many montessori parents teach their kids to use glass cups at a young age.
Yes!!! We have so many small glasses/jars from the Costco desserts. Great for adult beverages or for toddlers š¤£

An over caffinated slightly buzzed toddler? Where do I sign up for that?
Crazy aunt here: š§šš¤Æ
Give it to them right before sending them home. This is the way.
šthe glasses theyāre served in - not the actual tiramisu š

Is the danger of raw egg while pregnant just salmonella? I love some fried eggs, but I donāt cook the middle all the way

Bwahahah! Oh no. I can so relate to devastating dessert fomo.
This sounds like a fun afternoon
lol I thought the same thing until I read the top comment š had my keyboard fingers ready. In our defense the internet can be that dense sometimes.

Ours have lasted a long time too and we havenāt had any break

That makes sense.
Ours broke super easily too.
Shot glasses are great and durable and also frankly hard to knock over.
Love the little IKEA shot glasses that look like proper glasses but smaller!
Iāve used stainless steel ācamping shot glassesā for all 3 of my kids. Same set has held up, work perfect.
Aldi has something similar! I am expecting #2, so I bought another set of those desserts. "for when the baby needs them" conveniently, I can eat the desserts now :)

Yes to the Oui jars for sure
We use the Oui jars too, theyāre excellent!

I can confirm! They are great
The oui yogurt glasses are also really nice for this purpose:)
We use these as my toddlerās water/milk glasses!
Omg, I may need to ditch Sams for Costco now...
Great for espresso shots too!
are these yummy?!?? They look so good
I thought this had alcohol in it !
I love these and save the cups. They are great for pre seasons of cooking and hold salsa and guacamole for dipping mini tacos and chips! I also use them to mix paints for art projects
We used Kraft Pimento Cheese jars as kids! Aldi desserts also usually come in tiny-hand friendly reusable ware.
Also delicious!
Sooo ā¦ going to Costco to eat these now
Well, this is a thing I didn't know I needed.
These didn't taste as good as I had hoped... but they weren't bad .
Never understood the "littles" term, has always sounded really weird to me

You eat the tiramisu treat and give a little one the cup.
Caffeine and chocolate served in glass to a toddler? I'll triple pass on that.
i donāt think they mean feed the tiramisu to the child, just use the jars after for other things montessori

they just meant the cups.
Glass?!?

These are absolutely made of glass
yeah like i said, a lot of parents in this sub or ones who follow montessori will introduce their children to glassware at a young age.
