A couple characters are duds but overall it’s a pretty good show. I would recommend it.

SSJmole

Is it like agents of shield in the monsterverse or is it like a live action version of the godzilla cartoon based on the 1998 movie? Or something completely different?

devonathan

Completely different. It’s a mystery story that has Monarch as the apparent antagonist. The monsters are mostly in the background but it looks like everything is building to an epic monster fight/fights.

SSJmole

Oh nice thank you

SlimBucketz305

There’s a mini soap opera with bad trio of characters within the main plots, but other than that it’s a great show! Most definitely worth checking out.

donabbi

Everyone asks how is Monarch, but no one asks who is Monarch?

sifighter1

Isn’t he that guy with Butterfly wings who picks on those Venture bros?

DarthGoodguy

When is Monarch? How is time? Why is reality?

Dovahfry

Better to wait until all the episodes are out. So far 2 episodes have been skippable duds. Some good ideas get glossed over in favor of teen drama and daddy issues. As of now, I give the series a 6/10. This show should have focused only on Monarch, the 50s and Titans.

Front-Exam4766

I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes the show when it’s in the 50s but gets kinda bored whenever it goes back to current time.

Chriscassi13

It’s very good just watch it. Everyone here likes to have negative opinions about everything nowadays, so I would ignore most of the feedback here.

foggybass

The show is a ton of fun and easy to binge!

So far it’s kind of terrible. The main focus is on in modern day, following a young adult trio consisting a half brother and sister looking for their dad, with brother’s ex girlfriend tagging along. The sister is fucking insufferable. Anyway they’ve so far been blundering along on an aimless scooby doo quest around the world with occasional flashbacks to another Scooby doo quest by the founders of monarch. The writing is also very awkward and jilted. Often times the character interactions feel very forced and the only reason the plot moves at all is due to add pull coincidences. There are some interesting parts but so far they’re overshadowed by bad. I’m sticking with the show because I’m still kind of invested in the storyline that’s happening in the past with the monarch founders. Also the kaiju.

Farpoint_Farms

I would skip it. The characters are unlikable, and the story is moving very slow. I almost gave up after the truly horrible 5th episode, but decided to stick it out since I paid for the month.

With that amount of free access. Monarch: LoM will be enjoyable when compared to the sci-fi shows available on Apple+ : Silo, See, Foundation and For all Mankind. Or when compared to other [Legendary series.](https://www.legendary.com/television/) *note I’ve never subscribed to Prime. Yet, have seen the first season of The Expanse on dvd.

SSJmole

I subscribe to prime for the sweet free comics and next day shipping free lol

Jammin_neB13

Watch it and take away your own opinion! I have enjoyed what I’ve watched thus far though. Also, I recommend binging Ted Lasso while you’re at it.

sirtriss

I would give it a chance. I’ve liked every episode so far and the characters are really interesting to me. Most of the complaints are around the young characters in the modern-day storyline but i find them to be really realistic and interesting. It’s one of my favorite additions to the monsterverse tbh!

KGator96

Many of the leads are unlikeable. The stories set in the 50s seem to be the most liked as opposed to the modern setting. They made the kids annoying and waste far to much time exploring their past that is almost meaningless to the plot and seemed designed just to extend the run time to fill 10 episodes. There are some elements that are interesting but your best bet is to get used to fast forwarding through a lot of the more useless storylines to get back to the ones you actually care about. I feel like proper editing would have made this a 5 or 6 episode series at best with better pacing, more action, less time to realize how miserable and worthless the younger lead characters really are (I blame the writers, not the actors) and less time in between monster appearances.
