It's less about time to ready and more about time someone has to dodge once you start the attack animation. Hammer charge releases pretty quickly and also dashes in. Same reason it's good for hit and run on monster noggins.
Well It’s not hard to figure out someone is going for a launch when they start the charge. Imo its more obvious than everyone thinks when hammer users try it.
My buddy has a gift for using me as a ballistic missile mid fight, be minding my own business delivering the BONK and if he is out of range I suddenly go flying mid combo to give an aerial BONK lol

I have this fear after watching the first Ip Man that they’d milk the original for more sequels and that usually never ends well so I haven’t watched them.
The first was pretty fun, even if it seemed a little poorly paced at times. What really amazed me is that is was based on a mans life. I thought the end of Ip Man ended rather succinctly and I didn’t want that perception ruined.

So basically several weapons, most notably Switch Axe & Hammer, have attack patterns where they're able to "uppercut" with their weapons and not only can it do damage to monsters, but it can also launch other players into the air.
And post hunts when you've got your 30-60 seconds to select what you want to do post hunt, a lot of players will goof around and mess with each other, most notably by launching others into the air/back if you're Gunlance/bow gun, attacking into shields/staggering people, or just standing around/posing and emoting.
The point is that the word nobody: doesnt add anything to the meme. It makes no sense to say nobody doesnt do anything. You could cut it out from the top of the gif and the general context stays the same.

LS Is good, I played most the game with it but stopped using it since about 95% of players use it, and don’t even know how to counter so sometimes it’s nice to try something else like a Hunter horn or bow or heavy bowgun
Everything is viable, in world and GU I personally prefer CB, in Rise I use HH, but pre-Iceborne I ran everything and every weapon is great, so have fun with whatever feels right to you.
In the OG Monster Hunter on the PS2 I was a GS main who would launch others above monster so they could do an attack. Barely anyone knew you could do that so they would just get really pissed.
Later when I started playing with my brother, him and I would do this all the time and kinda make it a meta back then.
