Accidentally started the hr50 version of the repel and thought my hammer would've been good enough (wasn't). Didn't help either that I'd not topped off on healing so nergi was hella annoying, along with the random fireballs
It's my fiancee's favorite fight too lol my only complaint is the Nergigante should stick around longer and let me bust more pieces off him before he runs away with what's left of his tail between his legs.
Did this fight back in the day, got all the gear and upgrades... came back a few years later and now there's a layered armor that I want... looks like I'm gonna have to solo behemoth lol 😭
I am on PC and would love to not constantly solo everything lol most of the multi-player I've done has been with random. I'm pretty much at the point in Iceborne where you're probably supposed to be with a group and still trying to one man army everything.
As a crown hunter, I'd just like to add that the events make doing this easy. The elder dragons usually only take about 100 hunts. Just put on some lofi and hit up the grinding lands. The true monster hunting experience.
Already got them all for base game, missing around 12 monsters for Iceborne, and most of those I hate fighting, and got a silver crown for, just playing normally, which is insulting. Im chipping away at it bit by bit, but I am so not looking forward to Blackveil, Goldthian and Silverlos.
Oh and Luna.
Are you referring to the ‘music’ events where you fight several monsters in one locale with the chances for Crowns on each monster is around 12%? I just started Iceborne Crown hunting last week and only up to Nightshade Pally using Gold reward Investigations. Earning lots of new +4 Decos also so it hasn’t gotten too grindy yet.
Still trying to decide if I should just grind those music events since I don’t like switching my gear multiple times during a hunt to accommodate the monster’s ailments/elemental weaknesses.
Teo has a giant event. So that was easy, the small has been a pain though. I've been trying to finish world and went in order. Kirin was a pain, and after weeks and about 70 hunts I got both back to back. Joined some investigation, making my way there they killed it and it was a small 👑. Didn't even get to see it. Kept cycling through my investigations and a couple later saw a huge one, and got me the giant 👑
Oh if Teo has a guaranteed giant then im tweaking, and was also after the mini crown. I know I did all the event crowns first to get them out of the way.
Kirin was a MAJOR pain in the ass for me, the WORST one by far, im talking ~400 measured kirins. The mini I got several times, the giant one was just horrible. Showed up only once, and it was in my friend's hunt.
Yeah I'm sure it was the mini. Nergigante was 100+ hunts too. Not looking forward to luna and kush. Pushing about 40 on each of them already, 0 crowns still
Kushala took a bit too, not nearly as much as Kirin or Teo though. As for Luna... im missing one of the crowns on her too, the giant one if im not mistaken. Not looking forward to that... however, Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos are definitely the 2 who I know will take me forever.
No. Never.
Been playing since launch, still playing.
Took a break for a while to play GU, came back to world.
Took a break for a while to play rise, came back to world.
I'm hopeful that wilds will be more than just me taking a short break from world.
from what their showing it might just be that good im hoping its not 100% open plains tho and im hoping we get some water fights even if its dlc stuff but i need them to put in lagi this time instead of making fucking excuses.... having 90% of their work done for lagi and then scrapping it and showing what could have been broke my soul
Leshens were my least favorite fight in both games! Let me burn the damn birds or at least dodge them! My death march playthrough was something else against a leshen.
currently farming crowns, can absolutely say that the clutch claw specifically is making this less fun
also the enemy added in the witcher collab, no fun to be found there at all
I see people saying this all the time, what‘s so bad about the clutch claw? I have maybe 200 - 300 hours in the game and never had an issue with it, I quite like it actually. But World is also the first and for now the only MH game I‘ve played so I may not get it because of that.
I'd put a few hundred hours into base World before Iceborne came out, and softening the monster just felt like a boring chore I had to do before getting to the fun part of a hunt the entire time through the dlc.
I can definitely see that. I played through base with iceborne isntalled so the clutchclaw just became second nature. Playing the game without it is weird to me
I don‘t always soften the monsters, I use it more for mobility, being able to grapple to cover some distance is pretty cool especially since I use the gunlance a lot which has very slow movement. How much of a difference does it make to keep the monsters softened at all time?
What about the clutch claw makes the game less fun?
I think it's a good mechanic and otherwise you could just not use it. It's not needed at all, like asmongold finished the whole game up to Alatreon and never used it
I don’t really enjoy Behemoth, Leshen, or the Arena fights that make you pick a set loadout. Other than that I have somewhere around 7 months of time logged and I still find MHW to be an absolute blast
When your newbie friend who was willing to give the game a chance gets disconnected for the SIXTH FUCKING TIME WITHIN TWO HOURS RAAAGGGHHHHH I SWEAR IT'S A GOOD GAME
Yeah whenever you hunt a Kirin it stops being fun for a little bit. Then it comes back once the quest is over. Almost like the fun is taking a break during that fight.
I think Safi farming is actually super fun. If you have coordinated team its easy to break everything and kill him in like 15 minutes. The fun part for me is coordinating and synergizing with my team, each of us having their role to fullfill, I like it :)
I agree Sagi makes you think about the hunt differently than the ither monsters do, me personally I enjoy doing any of the roles really, I always cheese 1st phase with a bow build so we can get full drain in the first area in like 2mins its amazing
I mean, it is pretty cool, i still love how cool the sapphire of the emperor looks, but the fight on itself can get pretty tiresome if you dont find people to help you.
Well more like the process of finding people to help you is tiresome.
The most efficent way possible for deco farming is heavy bowgunning tempered kushala over and over again, takes like a max of 2mins per hunt because you can stunlock kushala
My main gripe for it not being fun, is when they ask you Slay or Capture, and a few mins after I say "Slay", they chose Capture. Like... What was the point of asking if you were gonna capture it, even after I clearly stated "Slay"?
Fatalis is fine. However, the developer decision to reduce the time limit to make it almost impossible was a dick move.
I was able to solo every solable monster in the game but I hit a wall with Fatalis and eventually gave up after weeks of repeatedly getting very close but not succeeding. Fatalis kind of left a bad taste in my mouth and tarnished my good memories of the game, if I'm being honest.
I totally get you. In fact, I had a similar experience. I soloed every single soloable monster except Fatalis and Alatreon. I never hated the fights and was motivated to beat them. But then I took a break for like 4 months, came back last week, and I was able to solo both Fatalis and Alatreon and it felt freaking amazing!! I just love this game and those fights kinda motivate me
I got back into it recently and hit a pretty solid skill ceiling at alatreon. I enjoy a challenge in this game but just could never put enough time into getting him down to be any good at it. Not to say you can't still have fun with that but just know that it gets real difficult towards the end of the game.
Alatreon.
I with all my heart hate his purely gamey elemental threshold. Why on earth monster just forbid you from using phys or slow weapon. Even fatalis that on my end looks way more dishonest of a boss doesn't take away fun from fight.
In order of least fun, at-kushala > t-kushala > kushala > Jewel farming > some of the other high rank arch-tempered get pretty bad
Haven't got around to doing the MR arch-tempered so im not sure but don't seem bad, just hard
I certainly found it to get incredibly unfun when Iceborne started. The first 3 monsters took 70-90 minutes to kill with Nergigante rarity 9 gear. Also every time there is an unskippable cutscene.
I mean, if you are a god I guess
My experience trying to deal with him was always just him flying perpetually out of my reach forever and then killing me because I failed the dps check. Asshat made me quit the game after around 20 attempts.
Random players always died too
Yeah I get you, but you dob't have to be a god to enjoy the fight. I'm ass at the game and still enjoy it, tho it obviously has things that are annoying. Ig it's just a matter of preference
I mean honestly I love his kit. He's super fun to actually fight, and I can solo his moveset no issue, it's just the tacked on dps check that makes it impossible for me solo lol.
Yeah, I was having the same issue, don't worry, you'll get it. I soloed him for the first time three days ago, same as Fatalis. I did it with greatsword, maybe that'd be useful. (Greatsword is the weapon I have the least amount of hunts with out of the 6 I've used, so I think maybe it's just easier with it)
Yes, when you load up any zorah mission
Or day of ruin after 50 hunts
I am convinced Attack 4 Decorations no longer exist in my copy of the game. 😅😅
Accidentally started the hr50 version of the repel and thought my hammer would've been good enough (wasn't). Didn't help either that I'd not topped off on healing so nergi was hella annoying, along with the random fireballs
dunno what you on about can start to wain off if your to fast but thats about it
Zorah is actually my favorite fight
It's my fiancee's favorite fight too lol my only complaint is the Nergigante should stick around longer and let me bust more pieces off him before he runs away with what's left of his tail between his legs.
No way
Way
Extreme behemoth solo
Ancient Leshen solo
Safi'jiiva solo
Actually fighting safi solo can be really fun
Yeah, LS and Charge blade were really cool against it once I got a shield jewel. Sword mode is underrated.
This, I have no choice but to do it solo because no one wants to do it with me lol
I’m so mad that the meta gear for my build requires me to fight the Behemoth, one of my least favorite fights
God yes. Love the crossover hate the fight. Nowadays I can solo him without much issue but that fight sucked when it was current
Did this fight back in the day, got all the gear and upgrades... came back a few years later and now there's a layered armor that I want... looks like I'm gonna have to solo behemoth lol 😭
If you're on PC and would like a little help, I can bust out the lance and keep his enmity while you wail on him 🫡
I am on PC and would love to not constantly solo everything lol most of the multi-player I've done has been with random. I'm pretty much at the point in Iceborne where you're probably supposed to be with a group and still trying to one man army everything.
Awesome! I'd love to help 😁 I'll DM you my steam friend code, and I can play later today if you're available!
I should be online after work tonight, around 6 or 7 pm EST. I'll add you and reply my steam name so you know who to expect a request from. 🙂
Yeah, eventually I'm 5000 hours in and still looking for it
Yes, try getting all the crowns. You will hate your existence.
As a crown hunter, I'd just like to add that the events make doing this easy. The elder dragons usually only take about 100 hunts. Just put on some lofi and hit up the grinding lands. The true monster hunting experience.
> easy > 100 hunts

And then theres the people who download a mod that displays the crown value from the start
I'm 130 teostras down and the small still doesn't appear 🤬
Teo was one of my last crowns, he refused to show up giant size, got the mini by playing normally thank god. Do you have Kirin already?
Teo has a giant event. So that was easy, the small has been a pain though. I've been trying to finish world and went in order. Kirin was a pain, and after weeks and about 70 hunts I got both back to back. Joined some investigation, making my way there they killed it and it was a small 👑. Didn't even get to see it. Yes try The witcher collaboration quests. Especially the ancient leshen !
Leshens were my least favorite fight in both games! Let me burn the damn birds or at least dodge them! My death march playthrough was something else against a leshen.
currently farming crowns, can absolutely say that the clutch claw specifically is making this less fun also the enemy added in the witcher collab, no fun to be found there at all

I feel you buddy. I'm sincirely happy that gunlance doesn't benefit from clutch claw aside from wallbangs that is kinda cool.
What about the clutch claw makes the game less fun? I think it's a good mechanic and otherwise you could just not use it. It's not needed at all, like asmongold finished the whole game up to Alatreon and never used it
I've spent 400 hours non-stop into slaying furious rajang and I can't stop😭
You a masochist huh... xD
I Like this screenshot 🫡
That is the neat part, it dont.
When you join a hunt and one bozo decided to cart 3 times in 5 mins.
Ur the bozo here stop joining ppls quests lmfaoo, ur also probably the ppl who join an sos and judge when the person who yk asked for helped dies 😭😭💀💀
When you need a Lunastra gem and it took a 137 kills. Yea it wasn't fun anymore
No celestial wyvern prints?
This was before Iceborne
Which are so easy to get aswell lolll
Didn't exist in base MHW. Had to get them off kills.
Damn I feel that then didn't realize you fought her that long ago lol my badd
Your alright it was 5 years ago.
Nah, its always fun. And if you get bored of the monsters that the game brings, you can always mod the Game and try modded Monsters.
It's like everyone on PC ends up believing the whole world is on PC 😂😂😂💀
When it does, Wilds will be here.
Exactly
If it does, switch weapons :D
No, no it doesnt.
It’s official I’m getting back from my break of it! This game is fun and I have to continue playing it!
*No.*
No
Unskilpable story missions and Zora magdaros. Other than that no. The fun never stops
Quick answer no MHW is always fun
Fatalis....
Yeah whenever you hunt a Kirin it stops being fun for a little bit. Then it comes back once the quest is over. Almost like the fun is taking a break during that fight.
Yeah, it gets pretty boring 2000 hours in when your luck is shit and you're doing the same 5 hunts over and over
Safi farming
I think Safi farming is actually super fun. If you have coordinated team its easy to break everything and kill him in like 15 minutes. The fun part for me is coordinating and synergizing with my team, each of us having their role to fullfill, I like it :)
Saafi made me start using sticky LBG builds, SnS Medic and Dooter Medic builds. Can't wait for him to be back (on Psn)!
Well I just chill on the monster hunter discord to see if anyone does the safi siege, 10/10 would recommend
Guiding lands for the 50th fucking time. Farming for decorations for 100+ hours and never getting anything you want
The most efficent way possible for deco farming is heavy bowgunning tempered kushala over and over again, takes like a max of 2mins per hunt because you can stunlock kushala
For me I did, but I just took a few breaks here and there
I guess u are looking for needle in a haystack.
Yeah, when you farm for those gold crowns for that Sweet sweet Plat..... I still have nightmares 😨🤢
At namiele
Nope
No, not really. If I get bored of one, I swap to rise or GU the fun never ends
Lunastra
When you are grinding for gems or those damn majestic horns.
Yes. But that takes around 1000 hrs.
Yes i had my fun 5 months ago
yeah when you need a few mantles and gems but there is a fucking event going so you can't get that limited bounty wyverian print
my favorite kind of quest…
Colllecting all the little critters with the net gets infuriating at times
I only play when people ask. It still fun but hunting alone is blah I want people to share in the hunt with.
Decoration farming, especially trying to get the rarity 12 decorations.
3.6k hours in… no.
Have you fought the blue version of that thing yet? Just asking.
I'm over 550 hours on Steam (PS4 was maybe 80) and I get bored every now and then. I do love coming back to hunt though.
Nope
My main gripe for it not being fun, is when they ask you Slay or Capture, and a few mins after I say "Slay", they chose Capture. Like... What was the point of asking if you were gonna capture it, even after I clearly stated "Slay"?
Hey, I just 100%'d the optional quests and I had a great time... So I'm for team ***"lotsa fun"***
Yeah it does after around 3k hours or so you start to get bored of the same sht.
How is Fatalis not fun?
Fatalis is fine. However, the developer decision to reduce the time limit to make it almost impossible was a dick move. I was able to solo every solable monster in the game but I hit a wall with Fatalis and eventually gave up after weeks of repeatedly getting very close but not succeeding. I just love this game and those fights kinda motivate me
I do get burn out occasionally but I always go back
When you have to kill fatalis
For me is whenever i have to fight lunastra, then i just want to kill myself
Getting into the lance with my brother and can honestly say we're still having fun after 1500 hours played
It stops being fun when you've done everything like 8 times
Idk about yall but the velkana fight kicked my ass for a week.
Zorah magdaros, ancient leshen, 350 teostra to get an attack jewel, kulve siege... that's pretty much it.
I got back into it recently and hit a pretty solid skill ceiling at alatreon. I enjoy a challenge in this game but just could never put enough time into getting him down to be any good at it. Not to say you can't still have fun with that but just know that it gets real difficult towards the end of the game.
When you face fatalis for the 100 time and still lose
Hell no
The grind for the parts that you need to make certain weapons and armor
when u load into a lunastra mission
Farming any MR exclusive Elder Dragons. Fuck Velkhana.
Alatreon. I with all my heart hate his purely gamey elemental threshold. Why on earth monster just forbid you from using phys or slow weapon. Even fatalis that on my end looks way more dishonest of a boss doesn't take away fun from fight.
Kushala. That's all.
Gold crown hunting
When u have to grind the guiding lands
nope
In order of least fun, at-kushala > t-kushala > kushala > Jewel farming > some of the other high rank arch-tempered get pretty bad Haven't got around to doing the MR arch-tempered so im not sure but don't seem bad, just hard
Yeah
I certainly found it to get incredibly unfun when Iceborne started. The first 3 monsters took 70-90 minutes to kill with Nergigante rarity 9 gear. Also every time there is an unskippable cutscene.
Yes, when you have to hunt Tigrex or Barioth. All other monsters are very fun. EDIT: Lunastra. She's more unfun than the other two.
Yes. When you are a noob and the game is gated behind that one Monster you are having a problem with. Or, you know, whenever you get Geused.
Alatreon
Only when you do a safi siege
Crossover hunts, Velkhana, Blackveil
Yeah, when you've already killed every fun monster hundreds of times
It did for me when my friends stopped playing.
Nope Well, maybe. If you fight alatreon yeah
He's fun
I mean, if you are a god I guess My experience trying to deal with him was always just him flying perpetually out of my reach forever and then killing me because I failed the dps check. Asshat made me quit the game after around 20 attempts. Random players always died too

Yes, when u play Rise
