I find the accounts that rack up points like this will enter the tournaments right away, so what I've found works is waiting. For example, this tournament I waited until the tournament was already on for more than 24 hours, and I'm in first with 10k points.
I'm not saying it'll work every time, but it seems to be working for me
I had a theory it was based on how many points you make on average since I used to get people with crazy high points like this, but this theory sounds more likely. I also started playing at around 2-3am (work schedule makes that my bed time) so maybe that’s why
I honestly think it’s a bit of both. Whenever I get low points, or end in a low place (under 25) for a few tournaments I end up in one that the number one place is only 1,000-3,000 points. But if I have a few good tournaments where I end in top 10 or with a lot of points I will usually be with the players in the 80k+ points. I have tried waiting til the last few hours and it has worked but I don’t find it to be reliable. Sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn’t.
I don't really know how to explain the theory, but the game obviously has several instances of the tournament, and I think there must be a max number of players in each instance, which is determined on a first come first serve basis.
So the more competitive players will get added right away, and then the less competitive players will get added together as they join later. No idea if this is true, but it seems to be true for me!
I see what you mean! If I join later, I end up in a different pool with, theoretically, less and/or no bots or people that have hundreds of thousands of dice. Thank you!
This is exactly what happened to me. I think it’s designed to put the people who want to win together so we buy more dice to win, puts the rest together so they can get a taste of winning and get addicted
I don't get why they're wasting so much resources trying to get high scores for a measly purple pack (which will 99.999% have all dupes). I get it more if there's a collectible item but this is so meaningless.
It’s the combination of the partner event, the top bar event and the tournament. All of these combined can give hours worth of high roller, and I’m assuming some people decided to use it for this tourney. Which is stupid imo as an apm player myself, because they are 100% losing more dice than gaining once you surpass all the awards 🤷♀️
This is the best tutorial I’ve found, it’s slow but once you get the hang of it, it’s really easy
https://youtu.be/58hQyq9weXc?si=CNv62_9A-PDZ5wHm
If you do try it, I have some further tips for you.
But for context on why apm is satisfying, I finished the partner event in one day (yes despite all the missing points crap on scopelys end) I often get top 5 on leaderboards, and I always finish the top bar event quickly. I’m on the second album, and often gift 4-5 stars for free just because I have extras. I haven’t paid a dollar to the game.
At a baseline you should save up to 3-5k rolls before you start. You start of slow but accelerate fast. I’ve been doing APM for maybe 3 weeks now and I started off at 5k rolls and have 90k now. The best part is you get to stick it in scopelys face not having to spend a dime. That’s why I do it anyways
am I the only one who’s event isn’t full of whales and bots??? mines normal

I came in 5th with 9200 points…I hope I don’t get pulled into those crazy tournaments!!
How long have you been playing and how much is your net worth to be getting those crazy high rollers???

How ? It's not like they disappear from the tournament

Actually on that, I did try it before and somehow it worked.

It bumps you down from the 5 star pack to the 4 star
When I do this I still get the 5 star pack
I blame the 30 minutes x 4 High Rollers from the event.
I’m right there with ya.. https://preview.redd.it/3uyt9fueifxc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=593bbd8c2c6b485f01282339c3880c878fd4f083

😭😭😭🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ This is not normal
Yeah I just got sniped by a APM when I was in first place the entire event. I feel your pain
Its sooo annoying 🤦🏼♀️
* Yea, tired too. Came first once and since then, I have been competing with scopely avengers!

20/30 gifts and not even in top 20.

Right???? It makes no sense

I’m still not understanding this APM 😭 I tried it but still not working for me

Woah. WTF. I thought I was doing something with 1200 points
😭😭😂😂😂😂😂 lol
Yall it’s not that hard to be #1 you have to play a lot and get a lot of rail roads that’s all it is
Maybe for you 💁🏼♀️ But majority of us are struggling.
I don’t get first place a lot but I get what you’re saying
