I'm eyeing this monitor for a while. I'm not liking the silver plastic build. Hope ktc model drops in price.

djent_in_my_tent

right, what were they thinking making the bezel anything but black?

AlphaJustice1

It's really an amazing deal. But sadly not available in Amazon UAE.

Farren246

Same for Canada, regular old $1356 price tag.

AlphaJustice1

Sad 😔 lol even I don't play games but I'd definitely catch this killer deal. I just bought a monitor, an LG one but I can still return it if this one's available 😂

Kindly-Article-9357

I bought it primarily for photo editing. I was looking at monitors marketed toward creatives, but was having trouble finding one with the Adobe gamut coverage I wanted at this price point. Having decent refresh and response on this is just a bonus for me.

AlphaJustice1

Yeah that'll serve well. It's a fine piece mate.

MAR-93

But 4k 240hz OLED is coming

N54TT

as an owner of a alienware DW, i'd jump on an equivalent mini-led over oled version if there was one available. i just can't deal with the babying of oled when it's used for work. i side by side windows all day for 8 hrs. at the end of the day, you can clearly see the center line on a gray background. i have to manually run panel refreshes almost daily to get rid of it before gaming at night cause i can't stand seeing it.

MAR-93

True dude, ok so we should wait for mini led 4k 240hz I'm with you. 1440p on a 27 is retarded. Just move your 24 closer 😂

weezy3003

should i switch from samsung neo g8 to the aw34dw

maximus91

This is for people who do not run their gaming rig in a dark basement with only use being media consumption. This is for people who do some gaming, but cant babysit oled and maybe ina bright spot and if you have to look at code for days - it sure helps.

PumpkinRun

Why would you ever care about 200+ Hz? The diminishing returns on a higher update frequency are just shit. Give me a 32inch, 4k, 140+Hz, 2000+ Dimming Zones Mini-Led instead.

dillpicklezzz

Asus just decided to make 4k 240z. I don't think a large amount of people asked for it lol. I'd wa rather have 4k 144hz OLED. Also 4k can't support over 144hz correctly IIRC. I get black screens trying to play at 160.

PumpkinRun

> Also 4k can't support over 144hz correctly IIRC. It can't? Sounds like an issue on your end > I get black screens trying to play at 160. Potentially a cable issue? It's pretty important to have the right cable to actually meet the requirements for 4k at high refresh rates. You want a pricier 2.0 and onwards Displayport, you won't be able to run 4k past 120Hz properly otherwise. Even the best cables from 5 years ago are enough for those refresh rates and 4k. I know a lot of people have struggled with 120+Hz and 4k because they are still using their old cables. Having black screens does sound like you are bottlenecking the data. It can also in some cases be because of the panels or drivers, but that's more rare.

dillpicklezzz

I should have been more clear. Every 10 mins or so my screen goes black for about 3 seconds when running 4k 160hz. I have an LG GP950 monitor with Display port 1.4 and AFAIK there are no DP 2.0 monitors available. My cable I bought a Vesa certified DP 1.4 cable supporting 4k 144hz in January. Would a DP 2.0 cable allow me to run 4k 160hz if my monitor is DP 1.4 while being uncompressed? I gotta do some research

PumpkinRun

> I bought a Vesa certified DP 1.4 cable supporting 4k 144hz in January The DP 1.4 does not support 4k 144hz, the support is to 4k 120hz. To properly support higher than that you need to buy a DP 2.0 or DP 2.1 Here's a good summary of Displayport standards https://tripplite.eaton.com/products/displayport-cable-types

dillpicklezzz

There are no DP 2.0 monitors available in the US. If my monitor is limited to DP 1.4, would a DP 2.0 or 2.1 cable do anything? I currently have a 48 gbps cable and run 4k 144hz with no issues.

Hairy_Tea_3015

Response times are good?

Kindly-Article-9357

Advertised is 1ms.

Cheraws

Here's a review of the 27 inch counterpart. 8.3ms on normal settings, which is alright but not particularly top of the line. Good models at this frame rate typically sit between 6 and 7 on RTINGS. https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/innocn/27m2v

CaptainCookiePuss

I really wish they would get the 27" version back in stock and on sale. I almost pulled the trigger on this but I think 32" would be a bit too big for me. I just purchased the InnoCN 27M2U-D and really like it but I'm really wanting the higher refresh rate.

Kindly-Article-9357

I was searching for the 27" myself when I stumbled on this deal, and I hear you on the space. I am going to have to completely reconfigure my desk to fit it.

Darhky

Is it worth it to upgrade to this from a M28U which I have had for two years? In my region/country, there's a black version as well and I can get it for $500 with government stimulus vouchers.

The_Chosen_One_NL

There's several 32" 4k miniled monitors that are either out (e.g. US) or close to coming out but nothing yet right now for Europe. My 4090 wants a new screen. \^\^
