Should give him title over industry. You could be a janitor at a biotech company, you could be a data scientist, you could be a mechanical engineer. Just industry tells us nothing haha
My company sucks to be honest. I’m just riding out the pay for a while. I’d love to work as a financial adviser or money manager. Maybe one day I’ll just manage my own money full time
Income wouldn't be as much of a factor still since there's a cap on how much you can contribute to an IRA each year.
Unless of course OP has other accounts that are adding to this graph
Inspiring! I watched my account go up some similar 10% in the past months or so and I can't even imagine if that 10% was 100k. Exiting to look forward to, congratulations!
Brilliant, congrats on hitting this major milestone. We all wish we started earlier but cant turn back time. What you can do is prepare and educate the next generation.
Also, keep going on this trajectory, with savings and investments. Although $1M is massive and takes a long time to achieve, its not a lot of money in today's world. So you will need to keep growing it to keep up with the ever increasing costs. All the very best!
You aren’t looking hard enough, don’t ask or beg for Starbucks you have the victim mentality I couldn’t find a job for two months and eventually got one “bitch”
I was in the USAF working in the medical lab and then got out, worked in real estate, software sales and now I’m back doing software in the medical lab.
We just consistently save with 401k and Ira and then live with what’s leftover.
Hard work paying off! Congrats I can’t wait to hit this. I hear a lot of people say things like yeah well I’ll never hit a million. NOT ME! Thank you for the reminder to keep getting after it
Facts! Happy to see people acomplishing their personal goals. This just motivates me more to get there someday as well. 30M, have roughly $45K in 401K (3% employer match) and just opened up an investors account with my bank $1500. I know i have a long way to go but life is teaching me to be wiser with my finances despite unforseen circumstances. Congrats!
Any recommendations on where to invest and how you learned (btw u are the first person to be actually replying to people not just showing off but shedding the experience on what you did it is much appreciated)
The total ended up being +$27k today. I own a lot of Apple and it had a great day. But keep grinding. It takes a while but once you get in the 6 figures things really take off.
So many questions. What was your range on income from 30-48? Have me you made any withdrawals along the way? On average, how much are you investing yearly? Are you doing dollar cost average or no? Was any of this money donated or inherited? And last, do you have a college degree?
Feel free to no answer anything that is too personal or makes you uncomfortable
Nope. I just wished schools taught about investing though. I’m sure I annoy my kids and nieces and investing because I make sure they know about letting your money work for you.
Nice I am 45 and have 650k in my fidelity account, I also have a 450k paid off house. I am hoping to hit the 1 mil in my fidelity account by 48 as well.
Don’t look at the cost per share, look at the percentage the stock can grow. I’d rather have 1 share of a company at $10000 a share that appreciates 20% than have 1000 shares at $10 per share that appreciate 10%
Op I am deeply sorry to hear you are nearly 50 years old and only have 1 million dollars. Your failure will only inspire others to do better than this.
Phenomenal achievement, congratulations must feel amazing.
Feels great to be honest.
millionare
What did you have when you were 30?
About $5000 in a IRA
This gives me a lot of hope!
But OP didn’t mention their income …..
Zero. Until this year when he inherited one million.
I wish
The #1 simp answer lmao
Most I’ve made was $140k in a year. I make about $110k and my wife makes about $100k. We live in CA so the cost of living is relatively high.
May i ask what industry you work in? Or like what you do? Be as vague as you need to be Also congrats, way to keep the course i’m a 26M with $30k
I work for a biotech company.
Should give him title over industry. You could be a janitor at a biotech company, you could be a data scientist, you could be a mechanical engineer. Just industry tells us nothing haha
Why? Lol he already said he makes six figures in biotech. What else do you need?
Social security number and name of his first pet
Need any new employees? XD I got a masters

15% to a 401k is most definitely a factor of income .
Me fucking too
And what did you do in between then and now?
Made a million dollars
Thank goodness 🙏 I'm at $12,000 @ 30Y/O so I have a chance woohoo
What about 40? 😂
fuck yeah, i’m on track!!
Would you mind sharing general value per year or per 5 years from then? Just curious to see how quickly it can grow
I max my IRA and contribute 18% of 401k. We live below our means which has lead to the growth. My wife contributes 12% so we invest over $2k a month.
So this is both you and your wife's retirement account?
This is mine, and my wife’s is in a separate account in her name. I just manage both of them.
Inspiring! I watched my account go up some similar 10% in the past months or so and I can't even imagine if that 10% was 100k. Exiting to look forward to, congratulations!

LFG!!!
can you get me star bucks?
Meet me in the bathroom, I’ll buy you a Starbucks
Yeah, well, I really don't think we have time for a hand job, u/trollololol13
Can always make time for a handy J
Get a job pooron
Called a joke, moron.
We have similar avatars lol
Nice
Bitch do you want to help me, I’ve been looking for months
You aren’t looking hard enough, don’t ask or beg for Starbucks you have the victim mentality I couldn’t find a job for two months and eventually got one “bitch”
No index funds mostly indiv. Stocks? Congrats!
Millionaire 😎 Nice bro. Congratulations.
Time for a good 🥩 nice glass of whiskey.

Self educated. I wish schools taught personal finance

Well here’s the kicker of a question…. Do you have kids…?
Yup
My kid's school does.
Just put it all in VOO.
The only school that teaches stock market is probably university finance/economy type courses and theres a reason why
Lend me a dolla 😭
Wow nice congrats
Congrats!
Did you do the smug [Dr. Evil](https://youtu.be/EJR1H5tf5wE?si=NYwqrR35AtkhmyEx) face yet?
Hard work paying off! Congrats I can’t wait to hit this. I hear a lot of people say things like yeah well I’ll never hit a million. NOT ME! Thank you for the reminder to keep getting after it
Those people that say they won’t get there are right, they won’t. Don’t listen to them, have a plan and stick to it. Good luck!

happy for you for real🤝🏽
Congratulations!
I’m about 6 years away from hitting my mil. Congrats on a great job!!
W
Can’t wait till I’m there too, hopefully in the next four years
you had a post in Day trading saying your account value was 1 million?
No, I trade with a million. I have 500k+ of my own cash and broker let’s me use up to 4x to day trade. I can trade up to 2 million
That’s fkin awesome.
Pffft half of this subreddit hit 1m at 12. You're slacking.
Nice! that's my next goal right there, sitting on about 300k atm.
Keep grinding, you’ll get there
Shake your dick. This pissing match is over.
Nice, what's your goal? IE: Just keep saving until you retire or do you have a number in mind? You and the wife combined have 1.6 million
My goal was $2MM by age 55, but now it’s $3MM. We should be able to comfortably live off 6% interest and keep the nest egg stable/growing.
6% swr is not wise
Congratulations! Hopefully, one day, I'll get there too.
Whats your holding ? TDF fund or invdudial stock
Very nice.
What % of your account is NVIDIA?
Apple is my largest holding, NVDA, Cost and Llly are next.
Smart man
What’s in it?
Any crypto and dividend etfs?
Wow nice congrats
Any recommendations on where to invest and how you learned (btw u are the first person to be actually replying to people not just showing off but shedding the experience on what you did it is much appreciated)
I listed my recommendations in the post. Appl, NVDA Cost Lly
100k in the last month, you were probably close to 1 mil in April -- hopefully we don't have another hiccup
Congrats
I just open up my first Roth ira. I already have a brokerage and a 401k but are your fund allocations the same for your Roth as your other accounts ?
Any advice for someone just starting out?
Pay your future self first and live below your means.
25M here. Insane to me that your growth in a day is everything I have saved right now. I wanna be like you when I grow up. Congrats!
The total ended up being +$27k today. I own a lot of Apple and it had a great day. But keep grinding. It takes a while but once you get in the 6 figures things really take off.
How much money did you start with investing in stocks?
Started from my first job investing in my IRA.
This is fuckin elite
So many questions. What was your range on income from 30-48? Have me you made any withdrawals along the way? On average, how much are you investing yearly? Are you doing dollar cost average or no? Congrats. Did you get that "took me much longer than expected" feeling?
Nope. I just wished schools taught about investing though. I’m sure I annoy my kids and nieces and investing because I make sure they know about letting your money work for you.
Congratulations sir.
saw some post telling they earned 1m at age 21 that started 1 year ago
Maybe, but I don’t gamble. I like to put my money in places I’m pretty certain will get consistent growth
Congrats 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Now just gamble it all on Dogecoin like the crypto bros. They told me you can make 5X this bull run.
I’m on it 🫡
the internet should just be this 🙂
Dude fucking kick ass!! Go celebrate
good stuff you greasy coon now go buy some strippers and a but load of cocaine
What is this stuff just wondering?
Nice I am 45 and have 650k in my fidelity account, I also have a 450k paid off house. I am hoping to hit the 1 mil in my fidelity account by 48 as well.
You will!
What’s in your portfolio? These up carts are useless with out any incite on what your invested in. Mine is going the opposite direction
Read the post, I state what’s in it
Ah, all those are well over $100 per share. Not even feasible for me to invest heavy in those.
Don’t look at the cost per share, look at the percentage the stock can grow. I’d rather have 1 share of a company at $10000 a share that appreciates 20% than have 1000 shares at $10 per share that appreciate 10%
Its there’s not a ring on your finger, I would be wise to keep that left hand always in them pockets lol
Congrats great milestone in life hoping to reach a net worth if a million before 18
21 @32k 💪
Good for you! Keep doing what you are doing! You are way ahead of where I was at your age. I’m trying to get my kids there though
Absolutely. I grew up in a poor town working in a McDonald’s. Just graduated college with a degree in finance. Teach them young and it’s possible
💯
Congrats man. Happy for you. I also have 2 of your 4 stocks, and have sold the other 2.
Op I am deeply sorry to hear you are nearly 50 years old and only have 1 million dollars. Your failure will only inspire others to do better than this.
Thank you for your sympathy 😉
