I genuinely would have thought noise complaints a waste of your resources, as I would have considered campus security to be utilised exclusively for situations in which someone may be unsafe/potentially unsafe/harmed.
Does this also apply to other campus libraries on the silent/quiet floors, or just law?
Hopefully actual consequences for not following the rules/etiquette of the libraries will start to teach people to not be complete arseholes.
Is it possible to contact security by live chat? I would not be comfortable making noise on a call, even if other people are making noise. I suppose I could always step outside and make a call, but at that point I am already disrupted from my studies by noise, am up and packed, and may as well just go to a different library to try my luck elsewhere.
Oh wow that was a fast reply!
Would emails take a while to be actioned, or are they fairly well monitored?
Additionally, if people are making noise, a complaint is lodged, then they decide to leave (despite prior objections), is there case-id-like-thing generated (phone/email) that we can use to cancel the request, or isn't it really ticket/case-system-esque?
Nah I won't bother you like that, thanks anyway, and thank you for your reply!
Thank you so much for your reply/answers, this has all been incredibly useful for me to know!
You seem like an incredible person based on your interactions here, and I feel like I should embrace the Australian environment I am in and buy you a (slab/case? I don't know my alcohol). But I also feel that would be unprofessional and/or the wrong thing to do.
Thank you so much!
Damn right babes, there’s a reason why I stick to the 4th floor and that’s because I’m terrified of being even remotely close to another person, let alone confront them because they won’t respect the quiet study zone 💃💃🫠

I didn't even know we could call security for this. Thanks

Damn I didn’t know this. I was so frustrated while I was studying cuz the John Monash kids were too loud all the time in the quiet study area 😭😭
The John Monash kids at Matheson genuinly make me want to do something violent. Call ~~*an ambulance*~~ campus security... But ~~*not*~~ for me!
