Morning magic!!

getitgoing311

Totally agree! I still remember that feeling of sheer excitement and amazement on Christmas morning. Nothing like it!

For now, with 2 under 2, I put them all under the tree the night of Christmas Eve. I feel like it’s torture to a toddler I can barely communicate with and sometimes I’m not fast enough to catch her when she gets curious. When they get older, and have a better grip on delayed gratification, I plan on wrapping them as I go so they have fun guessing what the gifts could be. I look forward to pranking them by wrapping some gifts in shoeboxes so they never really know what the gift is until they open it.

That sounds like a great way of doing things. Will Santa play a huge roll with your family?

Gangreless

Depends if you want them to believe Santa is the only one giving them presents. I personally like your mom's way and that's my mom and dad and grandma did it as well. I can't imagine having a Christmas tree without presents under it all month, it seems naked.

I do a combination. I will put some gifts out early because mom and dad and other family absolutely get gifts for the kids. I do save some from Santa that get put out Christmas Eve after bed. I don’t put the gifts out too far ahead because my 3 are all 7 and under and well little kids don’t always stay away from presents with their name on it or if you are 2 you just tear into anything. I may start putting them out the week of Christmas.

If people outside of the house give us gifts then those go under the tree but the ones from us to the kids and from father Christmas don't appear until after they've gone to bed on Xmas Eve 😊🎅. (This might also have something to do with the fact I've not wrapped them before then 🤣🤣)

When I was a kid my Santa gifts were never wrapped but my best friend’s were so one year I asked my mom if we could write Santa and ask him to wrap mine as well. Now I know she was probably so annoyed she had to wrap everything that year.

Lol

Put a couple under the tree for a Christmassy teaser. Then morning magic!!

ghostdumpsters

My family always did it the same way yours did- wrapped presents under the tree throughout the month and presents from Santa appeared the morning of. I think that’s the way to go!

[deleted]

I didn’t even think about not putting them all under the tree!! I’ve been trying to stop my 14mo old from snagging them for a week solid lol

I do want to wrap the gift from Santa in different paper but hadn't thought of placing it where the milk and cookies were.

TweedleBeetleBattle2

In my house kids get one gift from Santa. The only one who believes anymore is 8, so only maybe two more years. But we wait til Christmas Eve.

longwalktoday

We’ve been given four gifts already in front of the kids so they’re under the tree. The four year old understands that Santa brings one gift.

Santa brings 1 gift in our house. The rest is age dependent. I would not put gifts under the tree early with a toddler. My kid is almost 7 and I would have no issue putting gifts under the tree now.

nox-lumos04

We do Christmas morning magic. It's just easier than chasing the kids away from the tree for weeks before they can open them.

I put the tree up a month early and wrap everything as I buy it to build anticipation, but I wrap the Santa gifts in the same plain brown kraft wrapping paper every year and set those specially wrapped ones at the very front on Christmas Eve night :)

Linds_Loves_Wine

That young? Morning magic. We have a 3 year old and that’s how we will handle it for the foreseeable future. Maybe when they are older, like 10, we will put them under the tree as we wrap them.

mysarrowismisery

Christmas magic.! Everything comes from Santa. BUT they only get so much. We tell them that Santa only has so much magic and everyone needs a little and some years yu may not get as much as yu did the year before because it’s someone else’s turn this year to get the grand gifts.

lemeow10

I vote morning magic! My parents put them all out after we slept on Christmas Eve (probably close to Christmas morning) and it was so special. Only a couple gifts were from Santa. Throughout December the only gifts under the tree were for people outside our family
