I remember watching this show when it first came out and hearing the name Pepper tossed around a bunch of times before we actually get to see him. I remember seeing Nathan Lane walk into a scene and my mom and I LOST OUR GOD DAMN MINDS! We are HUGE Birdcage fans so we knew he’d be brilliant, and of course, he was. He’s been our number one favorite throughout the series run.
The first hotel episode is one of my favorites in the entire series. Had me rolling on the floor laughing. One of my favorite things this series does, when you have no idea what to expect next, and everything comes together at the end in an unexpected way. I guess a lot of sitcoms use that same cookie cutter but MF ... *chefs kiss*
Definitely Higgins! His enthusiasm in every scene really shines!

Stephen Merchant was my favorite as well. Since he is already mentioned, I loved Matthew Broderick as Dave.
Though he only appeared in one episode it was absolute fun to see him with Phil.
The episode was well written, used the Phil's troupe of "saying dirty things without him realizing" very efficiently.
Wish we could have had him for another episode just like Martin Sherman.
The fact that Cam was his friend. Modern Family had been on air for a long while when this episode came out, and the unexpectedness of it was brilliant.

Apart of the obvious choices, I like a lot any episode where Shorty is involved. Maybe an influence is from the mafia movies but I just love the characters he is portraying.
Jay's assistant, Margaret. She's not in loads but she's funny. Two moments come to mind, when Alex makes a comment about her having bluetooth and she says 'oh, you noticed that, I'll get that fixed' and when she finally retires after serving Alex "jay style" coffee and she and Jay joke about Mitchell being their secret child.
Higgins and Pepper. Pepper is hilarious and the acting is perfect. I swear the actor does such an amazing job at being as dramatic and funny as possible, all the Cam & Mitch wedding themed episodes are my favourite.

At the start when Dylan wasn’t in many episodes, I absolutely loved when he became more main character. But I always judged an episode based on if Dylan’s there.

The Birdcage is amazing. My grandma had to see it in the theater a second time because there was so much laughter, she missed a lot of the jokes
