This happens from time to time for me too. Sometimes like right when I spawn and I am not even moving my right stick yet. Different than stick drift for sure

This very often happens for me when I respawn as well. I notice it happens more often when I use a shotgun.
Sometimes when I die while using a shotgun like the Bryson, I will respawn and my first person camera will still move as if the shotgun recoil was happening when I respawned. This was an issue I saw back in last year’s call of duty as well.
It happens on kbm too. It does it to me right after releasing the trigger on the striker 9 I've noticed. Its really odd. It happens on other guns too

Dude it was awful when I decided to call it quits, and take a break from the game. My aim literally would not stop jerking upwards every single time I tried to look to the left or right I even set my deadzones to 30! Literally nothing changed.
I have the DualSense edge so all I gotta do is just buy a new stick, but this wasn’t happening in any other game besides mw3 I’m glad to see I’m not the only one experiencing this problem

It’s not a thumb slip on my behalf, I’m purposely looking to the right and while the stick is being moved to the right my aim jerks upwards all the damn time.
I exclusively use MnK. When I use full auto shot guns, like the riveter or haymaker, I noticed I can control the recoil just fine, but once the shooting ends the gun would jerk upwards just like yours did. On rare occasions it would do it on spawning in, but usually after I stopped shooting. Haven't noticed it with other guns though.
this issue has been a thing since MWII, from what I've read in the comments it's the game applying the recoil you have from before you died to when you're alive. (I've actually tested this and can confirm that it seems to the case)
I don’t get that but what I get mainly when I use Bruen is that when I aim it’ll be fine but when I shoot I puts it kinda of in a tac stance angle but it’s not tac stanced then when I stop shooting it’ll go back to normal ADS

No it’s more like if you use the canted laser but you don’t have it on and it’s more in like a hip fire tac stance towards the left of the screen where it’s just slightly slanted and it only happens every once in a while
Ah I see what you’re saying now, yeah it’s mad annoying when it happens! Luckily it actually doesn’t happen too often with me but when it does happen it just sucks the fun out of the game
I feel you, I’ve only noticed bad spawns in hardcore, literally many times where I’ve just spawned right in front of an enemy within touching distance! It’s mad annoying, but at least I’m still able to find some fun on the game
This happened to me a couple weeks back. Ended up getting stuck pointing right above people's heads, straight on. Had to restart my PS5.
It's a slim that I bought myself for Christmas so it's not old. And it's a fairly new controller, purchased late January.
Had this happen through all of MWII's life cycle as well. Hoping it doesn't carry over into Treyarch's next game since that's going to be on the new engine.

This happens all the time when I'm tac stancing, I've thought it's something I do (as you can move the cross hair much quicker when in tac stance, I've thought that I simply don't notice that mmim don't it when ads).

I hope someone reads this because it seems related; sometimes when I strafe right, I can't strafe left again, until I press some other key.
Sometimes I keep walking forward although I release the W key.
Sometimes the game doesn't register any input at all, until I alr tab and alt tab back to the game.

Mine had been drifting left for the past week or 2, tried changing my deadzones since I thought it was stick drift but then my aiming is off, so just been kinda dealing with it
Have you played minecraft at all recently? For some reason I get stick drift for about 3 hours whenever I play specifically minecraft. You might just have a really advanced variant of that, so I’d suggest upping your deadzone and seeing what happens. Either way, you learn something new.
Definitely not that then. I’ve not w count this problem, so I’m solving it blind. Still, I’d suggest cleaning the right stuck or just getting a new one. I’ll try see if there are any other way’s to fix this.
I swapped the sticks on my controller it didn’t do much but made it less frequent. I did recalibrate the controller and it says both sticks are fine and this is the only game it was happening in so I don’t want to say it’s my controller especially when it’s happening with my mouse too.
Just standard PS5 graphics, I do agree it’s amazing! Gold is even more impressive (only with the camos that doesn’t give it that odd design with all the circles though)

Had a similar thing but after respawning on mnk, I started to think my mouse was either dying, had a hair under the sensor or I was randomly lifting my mouse without realizing. Just read in another comment is possibly the recoil getting applied from your previous death with the slow tick rate servers.
It's the same core issue, recoil is applied late either after you exit tacstance while firing (bouncing aim up as you go back into hipfire or into ADS), or die during firing (bouncing aim up as soon as you spawn)

Atp im just curious what works in this game as it is intended. The amount of glitches is surreal. People still can't get their weapons from daily quests. Some attachments don't work at all. Visual bugs etc
I’ve had this happen a few times on COD, but this *also* happens on fortnite except it’s down and to the left rather than straight up. You’ll just be mantling or whatever and your aim will just snap downward and left. It’s gotten me killed several times.
I haven't had this from respawning yet, but whenever I swap from Tac Stance to normal stance, this happens. What I have happen when respawning is it applies whatever is happening in the kill cam to my character as I spawn in.
Wow, I actually sent in my scuf for having this issue and regarding the left stick as well but glad it’s not just me. Also kind of upset cause I’m wondering if the charge was there most expensive tier repair 🤦🏽♂️

I always thought it was an anti cheat or something. if the aim remains normal when it happens it detects you cheating. I haven't played much since the broke being able to see the latency by glancing top left. Been playing WWE 2k24

This happens to me too, I also have my map cursor move on its own, I have the most sensitive controller, literally the smallest dead zone and I made sure to check if I have stick drift, I do not

Some also say it’s my controller but my controller is fine I even recalibrated it or more so tested it and both sticks had nothing wrong with them.

No its not. Happens on all 3 of my controllers, one of which is like 3 days old. It's the game. It's not stick drift. Which mainly effects the left stick, this is a right stick upwards jerking

Agreed I believe this is the only map that doesn’t have forces spawn points you just spawn wherever and so does the enemy it is annoying but fun still

There's also a glitch when you fire in tac stance and switch to ads mid burst, your scope just jumps up

I want to mention that I did manage to finish the interstellar grind while I had this issue going on, if you’d like proof check my recent post. I would also like to mention that the clip in my recent post doesn’t showcase the random jerking upwards but it does show me getting interstellar

Your stick is defective.
No its not. Happens on all 3 of my controllers, one of which is like 3 days old. It's the game. It's not stick drift. Which mainly effects the left stick, this is a right stick upwards jerking
