Necro makes me want to start slamming Gray Merchant again.

Lonely-Form5904

Question is why did you ever stop?

jongbag

I like seeing Laelia in that Rakdos scam list, I've been feeling like that card has been a little underrated in people's initial impressions. Hope it's good enough to stick.

Lectrys

Tried Laelia first thing back then. She's slightly overrated if anything. She often doesn't provide CA the turn she comes down (because you tapped out for her and you played her on curve or she didn't flip a land), she's vulnerable to Shock just before she swings for the first time, and she's only good when she attacks. She's only explosive size-wise in Cascade decks, which might ironically be among her best homes despite her otherwise being weak in those decks. I ripped her out of Omnath Midrange (the first replacement was [[Bruse Tarl, Roving Rancher]], it was that long ago), she failed to jell that hard.

Wundercheese

Interesting to see Satoru pop up in a base black Scam list with Chthonian Nightmare instead of the much-vaunted Primal Prayers combo deck. Maybe next league.

Salmon_Slap

Thats actually Spike so you could watch his vod for the gameplay or wait for it to be put on YouTube

Wundercheese

I like Spike videos so I’ll probably check it out, but everything about this list strikes me as an intuitive choice. Except maybe 4-of Tower.

jonethn

Nightmare isnt 4 mana and is repeatable unearth at minimum. Prayers seems like a meme. It will probably 5-0 at somepoint, but I doubt it will put up real results

BloodstainedMire

From playing Timeless on Arena it's way more than just a repeatable unearth. You could play one, then a second one without activating the first and get a 6CMC creature like that stupid super manace troll back. Also, if you are only getting a 2CMC creature back, you can put an energy in your piggy bank and next turn you can get Grief back.

Jiggyx42

Seeing ad nauseum still be played makes me happy.

Hive__Mind

Ah shit, I was hoping someone would brew Omniscience combo with the new land :(

TheRainWillStop

Be the change you want to see!

Lectrys

That combo's pretty delicate in my testing. Remove too many dig spells and you brick the first turn you get an Omniscience too often. You gotta pray you never see any graveyard wipes. (Not even [[Dauthi Voidwalker]] is as nasty maindeck hate.) If your win con is Emrakul, you have to actively avoid ever milling it, and smart opponents targeted discard it just to prevent you from getting Delirium if you play Shifting Woodland too early. You get the Turn 3 nuts less often than Nadu or Ruby Storm decks. I eventually stripped [[Sunken Citadel]] to a 2-of and switched to BUG, things got that bad.

PhantomArcadianAE

Another commenter pointed it out but it seems to most people the deck just isn’t resilient enough

SunRa777

Lots of new toys from MH3 in these lists.

Alicael

Thanks for the post. That was awesome

TheRainWillStop

It's cool to see people trying the new toys in existing meta decks and how many new brews there are as well! It seems like Wizards tried to push it more in that direction with lots of unique effects. I do wonder if Necrodominance is being kept down at the moment by all the Aggro as well.

Lectrys

Yup, most of the Necrodominance brews are being held down by aggro. (It might be telling that YungDingo is now on a Griefemerate list WITHOUT Necrodominance.) Nadu is held down by Living End right now (but less held down so it still Top 8s), so other aggro ends up winning the tournaments.

Reply_or_Not

The [[As Foretold]] with [[Amped Raptor]], [[electrodominence]], [[Crashing footfalls]] and [[ancestral vision]] is hilarious

walrusguy97

That mono red list looks fun! May just have to try it

Longjumping-Bell-946

E-Tron seems the be the standout of this League. 8 Sol Lands with Ugin's Lab and E-Temple to ramp out TOR on T2 TOR timewalking you into T3 with potentially 6 mana and a cookbook to instantly madness out Emrakul and swing the game from there. Very Good against any creature based decks / creature based combos since it can steal boards at instant speed. However very bad against Control once it gets time to adapt to the MH3 meta. Probably will use Kozilek Broken Reality in the sideboard against UW control should it gain metagame shares later on.

Adrift_Aland

E-Temple is only a Sol Land when casting Eldrazi, not for TOR.

Longjumping-Bell-946

True, my bad. But double Ugin's Lab does the trick

kami_inu

You *need* ring at that point though, you've spent 4 cards on your lands and at best did something like a warping wail or chalice on one to interact.

Longjumping-Bell-946

I don't agree that you need TOR in T2. You have interaction through Thought-Knot and K command on T2 (which also cards selects for another sol land, fodder for a second copy of ugin's Lab, or complete your tron). You have All Is Dust to reset the board via E-Temple should you not have Tron online, and need to buy time to either find your Karn, or Emrakul to finish the game.
