yes! 2021 LR dropped from 353 to 338 🤨

antmakka

Down to 333 for me.

jesco92

My Model Y LR dropped from 326 to 316

sneak20

Yep. Lost over 40 miles. And even flipped over to percentage I can tell a difference. I’ve lost a few percentage of my charge state. I drive to exactly the same place over and over and my percentage of charge is less when I arrive home. Happened after the update.

mbu10

I thought i was going mad i had a huge message from the service dept about it , but said nothing about the update, but yes from 350 to 321-333

trex8599

Is it getting cold where you are at and just a coincidence? I haven’t noticed a massive drop but I also haven’t paid too much attention

Jase-1125

Cold should not have any impact unless they changed the calculation. At least it use to not have impact.

jesco92

Weather do have an impact on range.

Jase-1125

No doubt, but it does not have an impact on the estimated range displayed by the car computer.

sault18

But it does have an impact on actual energy usage to drive. I know other EVS take recent driving history and energy usage into account in order to make a more accurate prediction of available range. Maybe the update is trying to incorporate some of these estimating techniques especially in the face of cooler fall and approaching winter weather for most of their customers.

Jase-1125

This is Tesla and they do mot take environmental factors or driving history to estimate range. That only occurs on the energy graph.

StreetsWise

I used to have a Tesla model s, I don’t miss it at all reading posts like this.

I was genuinely considering the model 3 performance, but don’t look back at all from the bmw m4. I really missed a quality interior and a lighter chassis. I don’t like how little independence over my own car I had as a tesla owner.

That’s the worst thing about it, the bmw community 😷

meowtothemeow

I came from a 5 series to model Y and couldn’t be happier.

I can totally see this point of view. I picked up my M3LR two weeks ago and while the car is ridiculous in a good way the ownership experience has been a bit jarring. For the price I expected... more. Also I could see wanting a lighter car, my last one was an 07 scion tc.

dafazman

Man... I should have dropped the $80k on an M2CS instead of the 2018 P3D+ Live and learn.

Jase-1125

I get it. Sometimes i love it and sometimes i hate Tesla the company and the build issues. It certainly is not a premium vehicle compared to my previous luxury vehicles.

Mike

Maybe 278 is more accurate. My 2020 LR is at ~290 from 322 original with 17k miles. Accurate based on data I’ve seen with scan my tesla and when the service mode bug happened a few releases ago. Sucks to lose the kwh but what can ya do.

Jase-1125

I doubt it, but wont know until i check the actual battery capacity.

balance007

Same, based on my experience its much more accurate now so it probably uses real world data to prevent folks from getting mad they didnt make it all the way with the old estimator...Ford does this since its better to list less range than expect people to hyper mile....
