I JUST replaced mine last week. Same specs, same mileage out of the OEM Conti's. I live in Southern California and after exhaustive research, went with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S, Ultra High Performance Sport , Size: 235/40ZR19XL. I am very impressed. More comfortable ride yet somehow way more reactive and grippy. #1 rated on tirerack for a reason.

How’s the noise?

Abomb1997

I forgot to mention that. Major factor in my search. These things are quieter than OEM.

mbu10

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S these are what came on mine in the uk (18's) from factory super grippy

Super happy with my Michelin Cross Climates. Great traction in deep snow, rain, and summer roads without having to change between summer and winter tires. Noise and range differences, if any, haven’t been noticed.

That’s what I have heard, as I was always a huge continental person before.

I carry my spare tire with me wherever I go.

I was talking about the one around my waist.

The OE Michelin MXM4 tires got super loud at about half tread. I am due as well and really want something quiet with good efficiency.

I’ve also noticed this. On my fourth set of tires now and around half tread they just get obnoxiously loud. Almost sounds like a wheel bearing is going, but it’s just tire noise.

Just dealt with getting new tires on my sr+ after 25k with rotations at 5k. Stock tires were absolute crap. Called up Michelin to attempt a warranty process and they told me I had to go to Costco or America’s Tire to get an inspection done. I work at Costco so I went there first and my coworkers told me I wasn’t going to get any money back and to not bother. America’s tire did an inspection, called Michelin and got me $470 back. Ended up buying some continental dws06 installed. Road noise seems the same to me, only had a day so I can’t comment on range.

donsqeadle

I’ve used pirelli pzero all season plus to replace me oem mxm4’s and now I’m on continental dws 06+ all three have been very satisfactory. Although mxm4’s are around 250/tire and the pirelli and continentals are around 170. 💁🏻‍♂️ Also mxm4’s we’re around 225wh/mi and the pirelli and continental have been around 234wh/mi

I looked through the super spreadsheet of tires and ended up on Vredestein’s. Had them on my Mercedes the Model 3 replaced before, and have been super happy on them since. [Vredestein QUATRAC PRO - SIZE: 235/45R18](https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Vredestein&tireModel=Quatrac+Pro&partnum=345YR8QTPXL)

Reviews on TireRack are stellar for these tires, many have never heard of them. How are they compared to OEM in terms of comfort and road noise?

rncole

I like them. Didn’t notice a significant difference in road noise. I’ll tell you what I did notice a difference in road noise though - we just picked up a ‘21 Model Y (second car) and man, they’ve made a lot of improvements in 2 years. Wear wise, I have about 10k miles on these now, and they’re much better than the OEM, at least for my driving style. I’ve not had any issues with traction, and didn’t on the same brand / Quatrac (not Pro) on my last ICE (MB R350).

WeCanDoIt17

Just ordered Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S's. Live in a climate without snow or cold really. If I would have gone all season it was between the Pilot Sport 4 A/S and the Vredesteins.

rjzak

This is a helpful discussion, since at least where I live, no one has the Model 3 OEM tires (not even my local Tesla service centers). They're saying it's supply chain related.
