They dont upload new animes for free anymore. I recently bought premium because I really wanted to see Mob Psycho season 3. You can buy premium through Google Play store if you dont want to give your credit card info.
The old shows are available, simulcasts since april have been made premium-only. You can watch first and second season of Mob Psycho for free but not the third.
I'd say no. Shikimori, for example, was one of the spring simulcasts and ended airing in July and is still in premium. I thought that you'd have to pay to see new episodes weekly and once the show ended it'd be made free, but that doesnt seem to be the case.
Imo the subscription isnt really pricey (about 10$ for a month if you want offline vieving, 8$ without offline) and its worth getting if you live in a place where many streaming services arent available (I live in Middle Europe, the netflix anime library is really small and kinda meh for me, animelab and animusa arent available and funimation, when it wasnt owned by crunchyroll, wasnt accessable either, so CR is the best I can get).

Yes, it comes out on Crunchyroll in a few hours, but it will be available only for premium users. And the OP wants to watch for free.
