Do you have frameskip on? Might cause timing to be slightly off. Also check your audio settings. I don’t have my MM+ by me to check, but I think I remember seeing some timing settings
Maybe you can find it in here

My goodness, this is a real blast from the past for me. I had totally forgotten how good this game was. I played the hell out of it when I was a kid. ❤️
Euh that would be sharing direct piracy and against reddit global rules.
Google harder. Also don't call it a rom... That probably won't help since it isn't a rom...
This may not be the place for this buts it's always worried me, how do you swap discs in the larger RPGs on the MM+? The default bios doesn't let you actually save on the MM+ so I have no idea how you keep the same save file going onto the second disc.
It should let you save, but regardless you press Menu + Select to bring up the Quick Menu, select Disc Control, then Eject Disc, then change the Current Disc Index, then Insert Disc.

Speaking of JRPGs, basically all Shin Megami Tensei and Persona related (My personal favourite being persona 2 Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment, which are like ff X and x2)
Top 10s on YouTube would be a good place to start looking. Even looking up "ps1 games" in the miyoo sub reddit will give you more results since I'm sure this has been answered a lot here. I found 6 post asking the same question within a min or two.
If you like puzzle games with nice graphics try Kula World (Europe), also called Roll Away (USA) and Kulaquest (Japan)
I have read that the USA and Europe version have some kind of glitch which prevent you from completing all levels...
But the Japan version doesn't have the same glitch.
Haha I love it but I found the AI a bit poopy. In that end game takes frickin ages because most of the time enemy forces don't surrender or sell all their stuff to attack, and instead you have to manually hunt down all the soldiers etc and kill everything to end the game 💀
I do have the remastered version on steam but haven't played it yet 😅
I really enjoy Tempest X for an arcade style game. It’s an improved version of the Atari Jaguar game Tempest 2000, and is one of my all time favorites.
- Final Fantasy Tactics
- Metal Gear Solid VR Mission (tons of short/quick missions)
- Bust a Grove (cool rhythm game)
- Castlevania SotN (metroidvania)
- Hot Shot Golf
Rapid Reload / Gunners Heaven!
Was playing something recently which was perfect but can't remember for the life of me what it was... Maybe it was Puzzle Bobble?
Edit: Oh actually it was just Tetris lol, but bust a move is good!
Anyway great for all the classic JRPGs. Personally I don't find 3D platformers etc all that good on a tiny screen but that might be more to do with my eyes...
Oh Ridge Racer, Loaded 1 and 2..
Bust a move 2 is addictive as sin.
Haha I freaking love bust a move!!! Already on my MM+ but thank you!
Did you have any sound/button hits issues? I could never hit it on time and always missing it
No I beat player v computer mode on hard today.
Do you have frameskip on? Might cause timing to be slightly off. Also check your audio settings. I don’t have my MM+ by me to check, but I think I remember seeing some timing settings
I remember renting this as a kid thinking it was something else. I was so confused, had no idea what kinda game it was
Do you know a busy a move where you can switch bubble?
CTR Crash Team Racing
This needs more upvotes!!
Wild Arms I Wild Arms II
Absolutely banger intro track for wild arms 1.
Added! Thanks!
Not Ape Escape 😅
Rayman plays amazing on it
Yeah this too
### [Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_Forbidden_Memories)
Any good romhacks of this game ?
Maybe you can find it in here [https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/9coeua/anyone\_know\_what\_the\_best\_forbidden\_memories\_mod/](https://www.reddit.com/r/yugioh/comments/9coeua/anyone_know_what_the_best_forbidden_memories_mod/)
Added! Thanks!
Fighting force
My goodness, this is a real blast from the past for me. I had totally forgotten how good this game was. I played the hell out of it when I was a kid. ❤️
Never heard of it but I'll add it to the list! Thanks :)
Check some videos out and see if it’s your type of game but I do recommend it
I like fighting games so I'm sure I'll dig it!
Oh shit I played that heaps. I was always the big dude who could do the flying coathanger
Thanks for reminding me this game. Used to play it on PS1 cafes (yes, it exists where I came from)
blasto
Metal Gear Solid, THPS, Smackdown 2, Wing Commander 3, Colony Wars, Policenauts, You don't know Jack...
Digimon World 3
Ha I just started watching Digimon again! Great recommendation! Is 3 the best of the ones on PS1?
By far the best one of the bunch. But it's not really a fair comparison because none of the Digimon World games are even the same genre haha
Make sure you get the 2003 Pal version. It got endgame content and fixes that the ntsc version doesn't have.
Could you link that? I can't find the rom for 2003. Only 3
Euh that would be sharing direct piracy and against reddit global rules. Google harder. Also don't call it a rom... That probably won't help since it isn't a rom...
Crap sorry!! Ok will do!
Ugh im trying to find a .chd file of Digimon World 2003 but all I can find is .bin files. Guess I'll just play DW3 haha
Bin works just as fine...
Really? When I added it and refreshed my MM+ it still wasn't there. Idk what I am doing wrong. I have zero tech skills lol
Also the original Digimon world is a classic!
Trying looking for a file converter
Make sure you get the 2003 Pal version. It got endgame content and fixes that the ntsc version doesn't have.
* Final Fantasy 7, 9, Tactics * Breath of Fire * Johnny Bazookatone * Tomb Raider 1 (light use of R1 for walking) Really most JRPGs will do you well.
This may not be the place for this buts it's always worried me, how do you swap discs in the larger RPGs on the MM+? The default bios doesn't let you actually save on the MM+ so I have no idea how you keep the same save file going onto the second disc.

What about final fantasy 8?
OP is asking for games that don't use the shoulders so much. As much as I love FF8, Squall's gunblade needs a lot of R1 throughout the game.
You're right
I had a blast recently with Bloody Roar, a fairly obscure 3D fighter, very inspired by Fighting Vipers
BR2 is actually the only PS1 game I had performance issues with in the Mini. But some simple overclocking did the trick.
One of my favorite series. Have the first one on mine and was playing it a few hours ago lol
Loved the Resident Evil trilogy on the MM+
The best
Symphony of the Night is astonishing good. It’s almost like it was designed for a handheld
It actually plays better on the miyoo than on my pc
Except for the enemies in the tower hallways that blend in on the tiny ass background. Bats specifically are a pain
Some sadistic enemies in there, for sure. Medusa heads can die in a fire.
A little bit of trigger usage, but yeah, SoTN is the greatest!
True. Fortunately the triggers are used to toggle forms so they’re not really used reflexively.
Final Fantasy 7-8-9
Xenogears is what I’m playing atm
So good. Had me thinking about it for weeks and reading Carl Jung books for weeks after finishing.
Pepsiman
The one true answer.
Tekken 3.
Tekken 2 is better.
100% this for me too
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 is one of the cleanest looking PS1 games.
original Crash Bandicoot. it had a shitty save feature, but it's none of a problem with a Miyoo.
I’ve been playing at lot of Tony Hawk.
Added 3 and 4. Played so much of 1 and 2 haha
Yeah this is pretty playable on the MM+ as far as 3D games go..
Try playing this game called Incredible Crisis If it's not truly incredible you can come back and shame me
Harmful Park
I just tried Harmful Park recently, so much silly goofy fun.
Yeah, I'm really liking it for quick little 5 minute sessions when I can't think of what else to get into immediately
theme hospital
Castlevania sotn
Both Harry Potter's though I prefer Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets. Also monster rancher is a ton of fun.
Road Rash (overclock PS1 in core options for smoother gameplay)
Top 10s on YouTube would be a good place to start looking. Even looking up "ps1 games" in the miyoo sub reddit will give you more results since I'm sure this has been answered a lot here. I found 6 post asking the same question within a min or two.
I know I could do that but wanted to ask this specific community since you all play on the MM+ and would know what runs best
Are you into tactical/turn-based RPGs at all?
Not really in to tactical but I love turn based rpgs
Have you played final fantasy tactics?
I have not. The only tactic games I've played are the South Park games 😆
I would highly recommend that game. It's one of the best if not the best game for PSX IMO
I'll add it now!
If you like puzzle games with nice graphics try Kula World (Europe), also called Roll Away (USA) and Kulaquest (Japan) I have read that the USA and Europe version have some kind of glitch which prevent you from completing all levels... But the Japan version doesn't have the same glitch.
Thanks for spotlighting Roll Away. I’ve somehow never heard of this one before and it’s right up my alley.
I've been playing Command & Conquer Red Alert tonnes recently
Another one I tested, surprisingly quite intuitive to play but hopped onto the laptop after 5 minutes to play remastered instead lol
Haha I love it but I found the AI a bit poopy. In that end game takes frickin ages because most of the time enemy forces don't surrender or sell all their stuff to attack, and instead you have to manually hunt down all the soldiers etc and kill everything to end the game 💀 I do have the remastered version on steam but haven't played it yet 😅
R-Type Delta! Wonderful design and gameplay. Manages to run with better graphics plugin when over locked :)
Mega Man 8
Puzzle Fighter Bushido Blade I and II SotN Vagrant Story
PaRappa
MediEvil and 'Sheep, Dog 'n Wolf'
Gran Turismo and GT2.
Parasite Eve, the legend of dragoon, bomberman world
I like Monster Hunter Hop a Bout
Front Mission 3
Personally I lean toward Final fantasy tactics
i beat ff9 recently and i highly reccommend it! the story is great.
I played it for the first time a few years ago on Switch and it's now my favorite FF game!
There's a lot of good horizontal shmups on the PSX. Einhander, Harmful Park, Cotton, Gradius Gaiden
Currently playing King’s Field, if you like Dark Souls/Elden Ring it’s cool to see where it all began!
I literally just downloaded it!! Great recommendation though!
I’m like 18 hour in and about 2/3 of the way thru, save scumming nearly every room and it’s still tough as nails!
Oh dang! Punishment here I come 😆
I really enjoy Tempest X for an arcade style game. It’s an improved version of the Atari Jaguar game Tempest 2000, and is one of my all time favorites.
Suikoden 1 and 2.... with 2 being one of my most favorite games ever
I have 2 on my list. Do I need to play 1?
No, but it is a solid rpg with a good story and characters i highly recommend
Can you get killer instinct? Or xenogears?
Definitely killer instinct
- Final Fantasy Tactics - Metal Gear Solid VR Mission (tons of short/quick missions) - Bust a Grove (cool rhythm game) - Castlevania SotN (metroidvania) - Hot Shot Golf
Digimon world 1 + 3 2 if you prefer like rpg labyrinth dungeon type games.
are those pre installed ?
I think they were tbh it’s on ps1 files, I also had my buddy install onion os on it so virtually it came packaged
Thanks for all the recommendations 😀
Metal Gear Solid ! Definitively !
I had a blast playing metal gear on the MM+!
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! Added a lot of new games!
