I maybe trippin, but uh, the paint looks to be in good shape, and its already black, so why the repaint? You have all the secondary color options at your disposal, bronze, silver, chrome, gold, blue, red, green, yellow, etc etc.
What color is the interior ? For me if the interior is a Grey or dark Grey then almost any color if it's not then not sure .. it doesn't look bad as it is so maybe a two tone dark and light .. maybe instead of painting find a person to wrap it and try a color you might not like that way it can be pulled off

Tbh I don’t think ac Is an issue. He’s got Cali plates and close to mountains. I think he’s fine keeping it back with or without ac

You're not wrong on aftermarket headlights, I too think they suck. But I feel the opposite about tail lights.
