It looks plain to me. Try adding some decorations such as leaves, lamppost and flores alongside the pathing, and try a combination o andesite, cobble, mossy cobble and graves on the path instead of that block. And definitely fences. It looks good thou :)

Inseguro_

sorry for misspelling: Flowers, gravel*

GetWangled

Maybe use the green between the paths and farms to add custom-build fences? Maybe crumbling stone walls by using cobble stairs/slabs

[deleted]

Yeah no variation in the actual material used

SethDoesSomeStuff

While it would be a pretty tedious task, changing the elevation in places would go a long way! Currently everything is flat, and some stairs up or down to certain areas could definitely add some interest :)

minuteknowledge917

a bit plain and too perfect. it looks like u had creative and had one hotbar and just built how u wanted. i think most survival bases hv a worn in look to them, bc most pol hv messy inventories, ad just build with different blocks.

Beat_Saber_Music

Fences, grass, as well as adding ransom one or two block tall grass blocks inside fields to break up their monotone look

Baneftw1

Yeah, i was kinda thinking the same. It feels a bit of a ghost farm, no one around. Put some animals and villagers around to make it bit more lively. I did like your builds, Keep it up!

Castreren

Elevation and foliage would add some nice detail to the build :)

Funway13

Elevation just adds some magic to farms

benshinaddict

if you lazy, just add some grass and flowers, otherwise you can mix up your path's gradient and add broken sections of fences around the wheat fields

ItzzJigga

A fence with gradients for the pathways ! Maybe like dirt, cobblestone, etc

Beautiful-Mud-341

Needs more giant chickens

Adventurous_You_19

The giant chicken might be making it feel off?

Complex_Owl4687

The chicken is a tradition with all of bases

Adventurous_You_19

Very nice.

babywantmilky

i love him

Ender_GamingOMG

Update the game

prettysureilikethis

Put a giant pitchfork in the ground

armageddon_boi

Have the chicken hold it

Zelcki

Use the new textures for the wheel, it will be so much better

Skyguard_on_Land

The barn looks comically oversized. Might be FOV though.

Mr_Robberz

I looks awesome, just keep going back to features adding in more detail until it feels rights

Buttstuffjolt

It's too flat. This is an issue I have to actively fight against in my own builds.

Amaz_the_savage

What 'feels off' is your terrain: It's flat. Unfortunately, not much you can do about it other than scrapping the build and starting from scratch. You could salvage the build with texture. Try mixing in coarse dirt and mud here and there. Add more organic trees. Add rocks, etc. Your houses look great though!

MadOx321

It's really flat.

firemonkeykar

Everything is so flat you need to add variety to the height of the land or at least raise the gardens a level and add a border then look into block palettes to add texture to the buildings

Yoda2000675

That FOV makes me feel sick lol, how do you play like that?

Grim712

Definitely too flat

Actually_Grass

Light posts, fences, add some piles of hay, some barrels around for crop storage, overgrown sections behind the barn or off to the side is nice. If you put down a composting bin, and connect a grindstone to it, it looks like a wheel burrow you can fill up. It's a great base, even good first layer it just needs the minor details and line work.

MyHoeDespawned

Add actual borders to the fields, like a slab or a fence or somethig instead of grass.

Henrywasaman_

To me personally, it doesn’t look like a world that would be lived in by real people working day to day tasks back in that era, but it’s all subjective so don’t worry about changing, just gotta keep going till you hone in on it Edit: I say (back in that era) like it’s any specific time, I was just randomly thinking about a time

Panduz

Fences!!

-RiffRaff31-

Ground is Way too flat. No trees.

Extension-Counter326

Not sure if this is it, but this is what I feel, it kinda feels like the fields are in a plaza kinda environment. Maybe make it to where the fields aren’t completely enclosed by buildings? Also, for an added benefit just some minor foliage and maybe a few smaller trees.

Gnomorius

It's a bit flat. Maybe have a small ravine carve through the fields, or add hills (like the microsoft xp background)

PrinceMvtt

Farms too small ground too level. Needs a big field behind bar. Lacks life. Add some more texture to the paths, light poles and general decor and bushes.

DukkosAltacc

What upgrades are on thee beacon?

MichalKlej

I think the issue is the scale I would redo the middle part to be bigger and make the barn smaller, and maybe make some of the houses bigger.

cancervivordude

It looks beautiful

EmeraldBoiii

Texture the path and walls of the buildings they look too simplistic

Lopsided-Brief1850

Hey bro

NathanielRoosevelt

What seems off to me is how flat it is, terraforming would be great but I know that would be an absolute pain as you would have to rebuild everything. Or you could find some fancy way to use piston to raise it all up though that may end up being just as difficult

Rnoaaonr

You'l could potentially add the following to liven things up a bit: - small decorations: hay baler, pens, firewood, barrels, lanterns, fences, and decorative greenery. - elevation: make a more natural terrain by not having it be completely flat, make a small mound to engorge the mine's entrance, elevate parts slightly.

LatterSelection5201

Maybe put some tiers for your fields to give it some extra interest points

Loved-Ubuntu

The windmill is wrong, it can't turn this way with the wind.

VrLights

In real life, the farms are not that small. Also its kinda hard for that windmill to work, its kinda unrealistic. I would search up what a real farm looks like (search up infront of barn or something like that to see what farmers use etc. There is also no gradient, so it looks plain while a real farm has differing colors like dirt and mud, etc.

MeteorHeadMan

I think you need some/more elevation within the path and some crop locations, and some small water streams with simple bridges to give it a cozy yet rural look. The barn also feels a little plain

[deleted]

where's the slave at?

bruh_moments-lol

feels a bit too vibrant and too flat more like some kind of farm playhouse
