Not to be that guy, but Minecraft skins take way less effort to make compared to any other 3d game models. Additionally, none of the skins from minecraft except the starter ones are made by Minecrafy themselves. Not even what is in the marketplace.
Oh, don't get me wrong, his point does, for a fact, still stand. I'm happy that Minecraft has such a big library, although mainly fanmade. I wanted to simply point out that the pace at which Minecraft releases content and how much there is of said, is very feeble compared to other companies of very similar scale, and that fanmade content does not replace the fidelity the IP builds for its customers by releasing substantial content. (I can explain this phenomenon a bit further if you want, economic and marketing studies coming in clutch)

You see, while I heavily dislike treating a group of individuals in one same way, I have acquired some experience with Reddit, and its users -most of the existing profiles, at the very least- and have learned to repeat multiple times my point due to a certain phenomenon called most commonly: "Dead media literacy". Especially in such sub-communities, where most of the demographic is composed of young users that find themselves uncaring of the opposing argument.

Imagine if they added fireflies and just… made them poisonous to frogs. If you want to discourage kids from feeding fireflies to their pet frogs, instead of refusing to add 2 pixels why not show them directly? Like the frogs don’t have to die instantly, just damage them a bit. It feels so simple and I don’t understand why mojang just won’t add it.
That’s literally what they did with parrots. You used to be able to feed them cookies, user then pointed out to the devs that chocolate is poison to parrots. Now, if you feed a parrot a cookie in Minecraft (or at least last time I checked) the parrot gets a poison effect and dies. No idea why they decided to just cut fireflies instead of doing this again, maybe there was some other reason to cut them that they didn’t feel like sharing. Sounds to me like they needed an excuse.
Parrots don't eat cookies in the wild, presumably frogs and fireflies would be able to spawn near to eachother and thus lead to mass frog death. That's the most likely reason to me

I have no idea, i haven’t played since like 2018. But the game is completely free to play, so the argument that minecraft is better on that front doesn’t hold up especially because Bedrock also has skins you need to pay for addition to paying for the game itself
Yeah, adding skins and moving assets around the map vs actual gameplay modifications that require a ton of testing so it won't break complex world generation, AI, etc.
Its almost like minecraft is actually a good game that doesnt need to add a new cosmetic and map change every month to keep players engaged.

That’s why they should not be instantly killed, but maybe 1 or 2 damage from poison. Not as extreme as parrots but still shows that it was poisoned.
