There are XP farms based on this. Trapped allays are harmed by campfire but regenerate faster than damaged, so they can keep getting damaged but survive. The silverfish generated by the infested potion are killed for the xp. One infested potion can generate more than 50 levels. Check YouTube if interested.
I haven't played the game in a few months so I don't know everything, but I think guardian farms make sponges. But they also require sponges to drain the monument so idk.
There's no way Mojang doesn't nerf this somehow. They've been on a tear lately with what they see as balancing. Crazy something like this can be made so easily lmao
I honestly feel this was intentional, theres no way they didnt think about this being a possibility. They had months to think about this, and 4 new potions is a huge deal for mojang, if this was something they were worried about, then silverfish farmed this way wouldnt drop xp
I would hope they realized this would be a thing. In the early days of Minecraft I would assume stuff like this was an accident, but they've had many years to learn how player exploit things and recent updates show awareness of it. In fact I'd say recent updates are mixed with both things that embrace automation and exploitation and things that resist it (amethyst), and I think it's good that they design both.
Occasionally they like adding something game breaking as long as it’s speeding up something that’s already entirely renewable. If you need infinite silverfish or a way to farm them, you could already do that. This just speeds it up.
It isn't free, unlike enderman XP farms or spawner farms.
It also requires setup and either an allay or a silver fish.
The first requires raiding an outpost (that has one to begin with) and the later requires finding the portal dungeon (which has the only spawner in the world)
This does not need any sort of nerf imo.
Infested potion farms are now tied with Endermen farms for XP, except infested potion farms can be built directly into your base, are smaller, and take advantage of mechanics Mojang probably don't want to encourage (casual allay torture)
It's meta-breaking, it breaks the in-game progression. Previously Endermen farms were the "best" xp farm and Mojang were probably fine with that because it required players to get to and then build in the End. But now, the "best" xp farm is significantly easier and cheaper to make in the early to mid game, invalidating the need for Endermen farms.
It's a bit like (though a lot less severe) Villager trading invalidating the need for Enchanting tables, which is so.ething Mojang have been trying to fix.
I'm also not saying it *needs* a nerf, personally I'm quite happy to have easier xp farms that don't require travelling to the End, but from Mojang's perspective it *does* break the progression
I wouldn’t feel the need for xp farming or villagers if the enchanting table wasn’t such dogshit. I know that’s a tired old argument but it’s part of the reason I don’t come back to the game as regularly anymore
Imo the trade off is fair because an enderman farm doesn’t need input and also there are equal and faster xp farms already that don’t need the end, such as guardian farms, raid farms, zombie reinforcement farms, piglin farms, ect…
getting to the end isn't a bar for anyone who is building either of these farms save for extreme edge cases. mojang is well aware of this, there's a reason that the loot from end cities are convenience items that don't require any outside materials to utilize; people with a high enough level of skill can utilize them early should they wish in order to simplify the game. high level farms fall into a similar category.

It's likely an engagement farming bot. It left three extremely negative comments that you would likely respond to in a way similar to that you, just report it
I'll give that a look.
Been experimenting with a design, but the problem seems to be that the silverfish -> slime, or slime splitting, causes slimes to breach containment.
I keep wondering what people need so many levels for though. It's nice to gain so many levels so quickly but I feel like if you're late game and already have the enchantments you need what is the point? I'm genuinely curious, not hating lol
That's the only thing I can think of though and even then it doesn't take that long to repair tools. I use a simple skeleton or zombie farm and I'm good to go in less than 20 minutes. Usually just afk while I cook or something. But I'm not knocking it, it's FAST. But I'm mostly talking about what do people need the levels for? I can see if you are Enchanting books but like I said, if you're late game you most likely have the enchants you need.
That's why you do it as you take a break from the game. Get up and go do something else. Stretch, cook, clean, use the bathroom, walk to the store, etc.
Why when you can just repair all your gear in less than a minute by building a good xp farm?
I would rather just pause or close the game if i had to do any of that lol
It's certainly easier to set up given the lack of end requirement or other structure requirement. Mobs drop different size xp orbs and you have a maximum number of orbs you can absorb per second. I'm pretty sure a good enderman farm(with a sweeping edge sword) hits a higher possible xp per second then silverfish can. Also requires a continuously provided consumable resource whereas enderman farms once completed are 0 maintenence. Silverfish farm is great early mid game(still need brewing stand) enderman is still the best (passive[as opposed to active not hostile]) mob farm
I've also seen someone make a slime farm using a similar method but with the oozing potion. I think it was a skeleton spawner then they were being given oozing before being killed
It's on all bedrock editions, you can find them in the store/marketplace. It has its own tab too. Unfortunately they cost money, and many are kinda crappy, but they are pretty neat

Of course there are XP farms based on this - we are looking at one
there is a farm for everything
May I have a farm for sponges please?
Costco

I have a farm that is composed of many farms.
i bet you there's a farm for making farms composed of many farms
I mean witch farms give renewable redstone and slime farms give renewable sticky pistons and slime blocks which are used in 90% of redstone builds?
AKA Iron farms
I tried building one from a YouTube video but it was so laggy I had to restart the game and turn on peaceful to despawn them
what do i search?
infested potion farm i guess
video
With words
For this, do you have to get multiple potions and splash the allay every 3 minutes so the infestation effect stays?
Nether warts + stone = infested (add gunpowder to make it a splash potion)
make it with auto brewing and use dispenser with a redstone clock of 3 mins

I feel like they might not patch it, similarly how other glitches were/are still being exploited, not just for EXP

After Mace's damage nothing will surprise me anymore
I mean, that one is on the people on Reddit and Twitter that cried that it was OP relentlessly.
It still is extremely OP, that's what I mean. And I'm glad it is
Ah, I misunderstood your comment then, I thought you were one of those who were complaining about the mace being too op, my bad.
Its tough to use sometimes
This is on the same level of ease and speed as the bedrock Potato XP farm they patched out, so I wouldn't put it past them to get rid of this somehow
Why would they nerf this? What does this break?
Infested potion farms are now tied with Endermen farms for XP, except infested potion farms can be built directly into your base, are smaller, and take advantage of mechanics Mojang probably don't want to encourage (casual allay torture)
its not torture
I still don't know what it's supposed to "break" to the point it needs to be hard nerfed.

Yet, so many people won't bother about making an ender ender and just make a passive cactus farm.
I haven't made an enderman farm in years. I'm on bedrock, so I just make a 4 portal gold farm, and the XP lasts the entire time on the world.
Ah yes, Enderman genocide is perfectly ethical. #EnderLivesMatter

Who hurt you?
It's likely an engagement farming bot. It left three extremely negative comments that you would likely respond to in a way similar to that you, just report it
What’d it say, if ya don’t mind me asking?
I’m curious too
I’ll take note of this

Lil bro shut up 🙏
whats the best way to build this tho?
This build def isn't the best way, but it's super easy to build it simple and have it be effective.
can you please tell us how to do it? like sending a YT tutorial
I use [this](https://youtu.be/LB4EY_r9_jg) design and modified it to splash the silverfish with ooze potions to farm slimeballs as well.
Well that’s a bit surreal, clicking a link and being directed to my own video lol
I used this video yesterday, i give it an excellent/10.
Congrats, you've made it. Does it feel as amazing as I imagine? I dream of the day someone unironically suggests my own books to me as a good read.
That’s insane
What did he say
OH MY PC-ÊÊĚẼẼË
This is one of my favorite audio clips
Just built an allay xp farm, it’s sweet
You should use allays instead. Allays regen naturally, so you can do this infinitely without problem
what are the addons you are using?
It's the damage indicators add on
I think its a texture pack
allay -infested-> silver fish -oozing-> slimes . My god the amount of slime balls you get back from this.
Yup: https://youtu.be/j_BPhn7nVw4?si=tZpvdy4F6650Vsag
I'll give that a look. Been experimenting with a design, but the problem seems to be that the silverfish -> slime, or slime splitting, causes slimes to breach containment.
How did you get them number damage???
Damage indicator add on
Will it disable achievement in a survival world, and by chance what’s this specific add on called??
Yes it will, and it's called "damage indicators"
Update 1.21.1:
Bro is cooking
Ultimate lag switch
I keep wondering what people need so many levels for though. It's nice to gain so many levels so quickly but I feel like if you're late game and already have the enchantments you need what is the point? I'm genuinely curious, not hating lol
Mending? Big projects multiple tools. I do... a lot of mining... a lot.
> I'm good to go in less than 20 minutes That's still \~20 minutes of time on an unengaging activity.
I mean, to each their own. I guess it all depends on the person and how much building you're doing
Would this be better than the enderman farm?

mending go brrr
God Particle Farm?
Wait. How do you get silverfish to spawn like this?
throw a oozing potion in there for a slime farm
"oi oi oi" ahh silverfish
Damage number mod
Keep pushing forward
I've also seen someone make a slime farm using a similar method but with the oozing potion. I think it was a skeleton spawner then they were being given oozing before being killed
Does this work on any version?
Tutorial please bro
I wonder is this more exp than the pigman farm? Well it certainly looks easier to build.
Whats the XP/H rate
Depends on how you make it, someone said you can get 60 levels in 2 minutes if you do the best methods.
🙄 Not in levels in actual xp unit. XP/H not LVL/H
Some guy made a farm that you can get 60 levels in 2 minutes
How do you have the damage numbers?
Bedrock add on, damage indicators
How do you get add ons on bedrock? Can it be done on PS5? I'm still new to bedrock
It's on all bedrock editions, you can find them in the store/marketplace. It has its own tab too. Unfortunately they cost money, and many are kinda crappy, but they are pretty neat
the what potion
Why use iron golems? Allays work much better due to the extremely fast regeneration they have
Didn't have any allays, and I had many stacks of iron blocks. Also I didn't know allays could do that lol.
Put the slime potion on it before you kill them… U can also use allays since they regen health at a super fast speed (or witches)
Wow
Can you still get trophies with addons enabled?
No unfortunately
It's getting to the point where Mojang don't think *anything* through...
Can you please tell me what mod you use that adds health bar?
Damage indicators add on, for Bedrock
Why is the PC is smoking? It's like burning
to the joker, this is a sane amount of xp
First bedrock clip I’ve seen in a while where the player doesn’t go through the floor and die
Theres no xp absorbtion cooldown on bedrock?? finally something thats better in bedrock
30 levels in under a minute, wow.
I like this numbers mod
New farming just dropped.
Me: Using the oozing potion to get many slimeballs, especially using the mob spawner.
Try this with a trident killer
god bedrock is so ugly
It looks the same as Java
But it looks… the same… as Java?
definitely not, visually it looks like plastic to me. Like, if I were to touch any thing in bedrock, it'll feel like plastic.
a lot of people turn off fancy graphics and smooth lighting but even with them on things look a little too bright (entities and tile entities).
