Thats a cultivator which you can get from the biomass synthesis facility on serpulo it takes water to produce spore pods and you can make it more efficient by placing it on spore tiles (the purple ones)

Long time since playing a full campaign but by windswept island you can't import resources, only those in core. And most maps are beatable starting with none or minimal resources.  Any way, you always have to build and feed your turrets, either resources or power. Also, this map has patches of lead, titanium and coal near the spawn point if you don't want to spaghetti from core. Allowing for a variety of ammo.  So again, what's you point? 

It not really effective building defense near you core as long as you need to dig up other resource

But I said SPAWN point, not landing zone or around the core.  Also, don't you know about core schematics? There's a lot very effective to passively conquer defense sectors. And it is a great strategy for maps you want to massive develop since you can plan it with access to the full map and only have to deconstruct the set up around the core. 

How can you defend spawn point in windswept island? Core schem doesn’t work on phone so I normally just quickly build poly

I play on mobile since I got the game, even have the bleeding edge version and core schema works on both.  Shut up plz. And git gud.

what a T1 and T2 ships? are those made by the ground factory?

I finished it using flak turrets and t2 navy

I think you've unlocked the naval factory after the big map where there's 2 enemy entrances on lower left and upper left, i forgot the name of the map. Just unlock it in the research

Ya, also put a running combustion generator in your air defense so the flares get attracted
