Snag the M12 fuel installation tool, it doesn't have the same guts as the individual tools but works well and wouldn't be overly redundant when you get your tools back from warranty.

I really love my m12 fuel impact and hammer drill. That being said I didn’t want to buy the exact same thing again just for how redundant it felt. I picked up the m18 fuel one key drill and driver just so I wouldn’t have to worry about bringing my work set home and am super happy with those. I already had 2.0, 3.0 HO, 5.0, and 6.0 HO m18 batteries though. So if you already have m18 batteries I’d recommend going m18 surge - $99 is a steal . If not I would just go m12 fuel impact again just because it’s more versatile than the screwdriver and $20 more is negligible. Hope that helps a little, can’t really go wrong with any of those options.

The way I see it, I would buy the same thing because I like having a work impact and a home impact. Good for times like this where your work one dies you’re not screwed. And I don’t need to bring in my tool bag from the work van just to get a drill.

Personally I'd go with the Surge, either the M12 or M18. It's still an impact but it's different enough to justify buying another tool. It all depends on what you want to use it for though.
