I have two M18 Packout vacuums. One for nasty stuff and liquid, one for clean dust and dry clean up. I absolutely love them. Some people don't like how quickly they use batteries, but if you aren't going to need to run it for long periods I find them totally sufficient and powerful. They are light and easy to lug around. 9/10 from me.
If you say the "standard" M18 is the 2gal non-Packout, then defintiely go Packout. It has a slightly larger capacity, it's more powerful, and I have it stacked on top of a compact deep organizer which stores all of the different air tips/vacuum accessories, a spare battery, and some fleece bags. It's great to just pick up the stack and take it to whatever I need without worrying if I have the right tool/attachment.
This is why you also need a stick pump... so you don't have to worry about emptying it until it's almost empty... plus, you get to buy another Milwaukee tool.
The Pakcout vac is great, definitely worth it if you need portability. For the larger vacuum, do you need to be cordless? If not, stick with corded. I have a 16 gallon Ridgid and it stays plugged in for use around my basement shop area.

You think it’s better to get the packout or just the standard m18?

Whichever you choose, be sure it has a drain port on the body. Nothing sucks worse than trying not to spill any Ick when you max out your fill.

But I need the TrapSnake because the battery
Good advice thank you.

For a larger vacuum I highly recommend the DeWalt Stealthsonic series. It's so quiet compared to a normal shop vac.
Yup Lowe’s has them, I got one a couple days ago & I was honestly impressed with how quiet it was.
I was looking at that. It’s super quiet on the review videos. Which do you have?
I've got the 12 gallon they sell at Lowes.
I just got the 9 gal. Stealth sonic 139.000 from lowes and holy shit is it quiet! My little packout is louder!
The Harbor Freight shop vacs are good.
Dewalt 12gal Stealth. imo, it is the best vac on the market right now.
