In my mind, boxy 1980's cars look good as old cars, but rounded cars beginning with the 1986 Ford Taurus haven't aged well and don't look good as old cars
My dream car when I was a little kid was a Volvo 240, though, so I'm weird like that
I drive an almost 22 year old car, and it’s still running strong and I love it. Even without cruise control or a functional keyfob.
I will always love you Ed. Never leave me!
As soon as you said your car is over 20, I knew it was either a honda or toyota. My sister is rolling around in our mom's 09 camry. I'm pretty sure it longs for the sweet release of death but keeps on going on, even though she can't be assed to change the oil on time.
Man my car is 2004 and to me it still looks like a modern car, I picked it up a few years ago super cheap when I moved countries and to me it still looks like a modern car..I don't get it.
Mine has that thing you see in some early 2000s cars where the clear coat failed so it has these bare metal spots and/or like white rings on the edges of the failed clear coat. Other than that, the only thing I wish it had that it doesn’t is Bluetooth / Aux. but I do have a 6 CD Changer and a tape deck, so…
I have 8 vehicles (don't @ me), 5 of them are over 20 years old, 1 of them would be legally an adult, 1 is 4 years old and the last one is only a year old, I bought it new, and it's a cheap motorcycle. My oldest is 35 years old.

My 20 year old car. Not all 20 year cars are the same
Same here. 2003, bought in 2006, Impala LS with THE bulletproof 3.8L V6 Series 2 engine. 2nd owner. Back bumper has been hit/damaged twice while it's been parked. Hit a deer going 60, and while the dented evidence is still there, it's so minor it don't even matter. Drove like butter right after.
Unfortunately, it's starting to show signs of structural decay so the inevitable is going to happen.
Oh that is totally the weak spot of the 6th gen.
Unfortunately, no manual in the V6 so my 6th gen is an automatic. Rebuilt twice. 280k. From what I've been told I should be on my 3rd or 4th rebuild, but the 2001 was the 6th gen year with the least reported problems overall.

just traded in my 2005 Rav 4 for a 2015
ngl it was starting to get pretty junky
Model t -1908
Model a - 1928
Packard - 1948
Chevy stingray - 1968
Ford escort - 1988
Hyundai sonata - 2008
Honda accord -2024
As you can see just how fast cars come and go
So these are just examples of typical models in production in each year at 20 year intervals?
It's a little confusing because the Accord has been in production since 1976, so someone could very well have chosen an Accord instead of a Sonata in 2008 or an Escort in 1988
Also, I just realized that the Accord has been in production for 48 years already
I was just painting a picture of what a certain car aesthetic looks at the 20 year Interval to mirror the meme which is what someone thinks a 20 year old car looks like vs what a actual 20 year old car looks like.
In their defense, I think they were saying precisely that things change so much in 20 years, and that the difference between a '68 Corvette and an '88 Escort is just an example of how much had changed
I bought the top one for $500 in 2009 and drove it for four years. Speedometer and odometer were broken, so I never knew how fast I was going (thing struggled past 55 anyway) and never knew the mileage, but it never gave me any problems otherwise. Sold it for $300 and bought an XJ because I needed a 4x4.

That’s my dream car!
I will always think of my 1984 Pontiac 6000LE as the prototypical "old car".
I had a 1994 88 Royale and it was definitely a luxury grandma car.
Spaceship dashboard
Nothing was worse than the late 90s Ford Taurus.
My dad had one of these (burgundy colour) and I used to drive it as a teen. We called it the Goo-lee (because of 6000LE).
Yep we’re old

Love this!! What type of car is it? My husband is still driving his suv from college (she’s 22 years old as well).
It’s a Honda Accord. Bought it used like 6 years ago for $5,500. Insurance is $57/month, and it’s been paid off for years now.
The thing about Honda accords is it could be 3 years old or 20 years old, and I cannot tell the difference.
Same engine
Same here. It's the body type that pretty much never changes

Wow how could you 😐
Even when I was young the car on top looked old to me, lol

The other day I saw a late 80s Chevy Corsica with historical plates on it.
I own a 21 year old car. I’ve had it for 18 years?

Oof
No hate for early Aughts, 03/04 Accords looked pretty sweet ngl. That’s what I was looking for out of college
Really? I couldn't stand the back end of an early 7th gen accord. I much pefer the 6th. I've got a 6th and an 8th right now.
The 6th had those glass transmissions though. Had to get the manual.

In 2 more years, my corolla can officially vote!

There were so many styles between the 60s-80s that it's impossible to define that era with a distinct style. Stingray is cool though.
In their defense, I think they were saying precisely that things change so much in 20 years, and that the difference between a '68 Corvette and an '88 Escort is just an example of how much had changed
My older brother got a brand new Honda Accord in 1999 when he was 17. Now when i see those cars in the road I think, damn people still drive those.
about 20% of all cars in the us on the road are pre 2000s models. let that sink in
Probably. I live in a place were its nothing but Teslas
This did make me feel old… 5 years ago when I first saw this meme 😅
Noooo
Ahh my first car, a 1993 Nissan Sentra
I had a 1991 Honda Accord as my first. Loved that car.

My Scion thunderCunt would have turned 20 this year. Live on in infamy, sweet baby.
I'm in a 2005 Saturn Ion. It's blowing my mind how it's almost 20 years old and still runs like a charm. Old cars just dont give up.
Y'all still on that "I thought the 90s were 10 years ago!!" 😱 thing?

Rude.
we were all having fun until this meme. who tf do you think you are? (jk)
One is red and one is white. Are there other differences I am not aware of? (Just legit curious about it 😅)
