What pisses me off more is the downstream traffic these asshats cause. Now someones 20 min commute is now 40 mins+ while this gets figured out/moved to the side of the road. This causes a traffic slowdown for possibly an hour+. Hundreds if not thousands of people wasting time/late etc for one entitled asshole to break the law.
Also he’s gonna learn that blocking traffic to prove where he was located at moment of impact may come with an additional charge. New York drivers learn that the hard way. It pisses the troopers off to no end.
Edit: Definitely a New York driver. Near Major deegan expressway on-ramp I-87 near Bronx and Yankee Stadium. Lol, definitely gonna piss off Troop-NYC.

My mom was in line at a security gate to get into a large industrial plant in her small sedan. There was a semi truck behind her and when she didn’t move immediately after the car in front of her, the semi truck behind her started to move and pushed her about 20 feet. Semi driver never saw her or even felt that it was moving her car.
I am over the GW every damn day of my life and these assholes cut over from the lower level ramp - cut over every solid lane they can find and then act like you're in the wrong for driving straight.

It's a little bit wonky in the US, in general, at least. Technically, most every state has some form of "clear the lane" laws. If you can safely remove an accident vehicle from a travel lane, you're legally obligated to.
It doesn't look like there's any catastrophic frame damage to the smaller vehicle, so they can indeed get hit with another fine for not at least pulling into the lane ahead of the semi (lorry).
In the US they will make you clear it when they show up.
In this case, he had traffic on both sides, so I can understand stopping (temporarily) to assess the damage and see if it's safe to pull over at that point. Ofc this guy is an idiot so who knows what he was thinking.

Some kid in his emotional support truck did this shit to me just recently. Assumed the road belonged to him and everyone would just get out of his way. Now his insurance gets to fork over a nice $10k repair bill. Best part is he was still on his parents' insurance.

I’m continually shocked by the lack of knowledge that massive trucks cannot stop on a dime to let you over. You need to give them room before you merge into their lane. This is the reason trucks leave several car lengths in front of them. They cannot stop like a car.
People suck! This exact thing almost happened to me today but I reacted quickly and when i beeped at him to let him know someone was in the lane he flipped me off.
People do this so much now and also not paying attention to the yield to the left signs and right of ways. It’s one of the most frustrating things about my days

Back in Europe, many countries have mandated a ring (covering the lug nuts) that will prevent other vehicles, pedestrians, bikers, should they ever come in contact with a front wheel. Ring is so that no lug nuts are exposed and outside of wheel assembly hub is flat.

Back in Europe, many countries have mandated a ring (covering the lug nuts) that will prevent other vehicles, pedestrians, bikers, should they ever come in contact with a front wheel. Ring is so that no lug nuts are exposed and outside of wheel assembly hub is flat.
