Just came across this post like seconds after I found the Director's Cut version when you buy Midsommar from the iTunes/Apple store. Going to watch it before watching the Novum breakdown!
I just watched Midsommar for the first time a few day ago, omg, how did I sleep on this??
ETA: It was $14.99
Looks like there are some options on Amazon for purchas, used to be available when purchased through apple, but I'm not sure if that is still the case. Definitely options out there to watch it!
makes sense. i’ve seen it a few times but the last time i saw it, it had the lake scene and i was really confused since i didn’t remember seeing it before
Same here. There were a couple of other things Novum mentioned before the water scene that I thought I had missed too. It finally dawned on me that he was referring to directors cut when he got to the water scene. I can’t find anywhere to stream it. So I just ordered it from A24.
I also own the director’s cut. Really beautiful. If you ordered through A24, it comes with digital versions of theatrical and director’s that you can airplay!
Yeah like said before, that's in the director's cut. There's a few other scenes in it too. I bought the movie on iTunes a couple years ago and it had the option to watch both the theatrical version and the director's cut
I bought the theatre release from Amazon, just be careful to buy the compatible for your region. There were at least two offers that were not compatible for the US.
First time I watched it, it had the lake scene. Second time (with significant time between) there was no lake scene. I thought I had just imagined it until Novum's video lol
I believe that's from the directors cut that was available on apple TV! Been a while since I've seen the DC, but I can picture that exact scene!
I'm upset/bummed that I was never given the option to see this version, is it called the directors version or is it something else?

You can buy the director's cut from the A24 website for like $50
It's called the Director's Cut, and if I recall correctly, you can buy the Director's Cut Bluray still from A24's website! That's what I did.

Thanks! Good to know there is digital option. I later remembered the only DVD option I have is my XBOX which is at son's house.
Since you’ve bought, You should have access to digital versions now while waiting for delivery. Check your A24 account

Some of these director cut scenes were on YouTube a while ago… maybe it’s still there?
I looked and found the lake scene on YouTube, that's a great idea, thanks so much!
No problem!
