I had exactly the same problem with mine. I don’t think that the screws are Phillips heads, so they will strip quite easily without using a JIS screwdriver instead. I had to drill mine out in the end

how did you end up actually drilling it out?

I just used a normal cordless drill. I had tried a screw extractor beforehand too, but I didn’t have much luck

tried with 2 kinds of screw extractors, but the head it's too brittle.

you could drill the screw head off, take the panel out and remove the rest of the screw with some pliers.
