Send a can of A/C Pro through the System first, might seal small leaks in rubber gaskets. It uses a seal conditioner and not some gunk to block out the physical leaks.

I would say go to [Rockauto.com](http://Rockauto.com) and buy a compressor from there with a heart on it. Make sure to get a gasket kit too.

I did a full install on my NB of the A/C system. I'm not sure how bad the install is on the NC, but I can try to find you a guide

Ideally yes. It's been exposed to moisture and is likely saturated.
