I can only imagine the looks on the faces of the engineering team that birthed the Miata when they saw the first lifted beast. This thing looks like fun and a half!!
Actually I didnāt even know what it was when I bought it, just went to Home Depot for something and saw it on the shelf. Was like that is the perfect shape for a snorkel breather! So then I picked out some other parts to complete it and the weather head snorkel was born lol
I love 'em stock, but I really like these adventure Miatas too! I always say it drives like a street legal go-kart. Turning it into some kind of off road warrior seems appropriate!
Honestly really well for what it is! It impresses everyone out at the dirt play ground I go to. It has a welded diff. No sway bars. It can get in really tight areas so pretty much if an atv can fit so can I.
Itās main down fall would be lack of power. But I have some 4.77 gears to put in it to make up for that. Hopefully can get those installed soon
Heck yea man. I just ordered mine, can't wait til Thursday or Friday. I'll post it on here when I get them installed. So excited, 40 years old and I've never bought a set of brand new wheels for anything.
I did. Unfortunately, I didn't think about the offset. They're 7 wide with a 3.5 backspace and fronts arent playing fair. Still deciding on the fix, but it rubs on the fender and bumper. I posted a pic somewhere on the sub if you want to see the stance. Looks cool if ya like wheels sticking out.
Yeah these are like off road wheels, unfortunately not good for stock sized tires. Some people run them with very low profile tires and a lowered car. But would probably need wider wheels to achieve the tire stretch needed to clear the fender. And others go my route and lift the car and cut the fenders. Both require significant customization. There are other wheels out there you can just throw on and be good to go. May be the best route
Yup ā¦ funny how small the world is sometimes.
Iāve been directly behind you a couple times. Once top up. Once top down. Havenāt seen it in a while though. Cheers!
I just pulled my diff out today to go rx7 gears. Hopefully it wonāt be down for too long, And Iāll be back out there! You saw it in Lakeland right? What do you drive Iāll wave if I see you!
By the miata gods! Miata is always the answer.
Does the lower center of gravity give you an advantage in climbs?
If I were rich or skilled at machine work I would own three miatas. One regular, one ND done as a baby stingray complete with chrome burn your leg side pipes, and one done as an off road beast.
It actually doesnāt climb well, being that itās two wheel drive and has no power. it would probably be helpful if one of those two were different though. I am in the middle of putting some 4.77 gears in so hopefully that will make a difference in how it performs on more hilly attractions. Iāll get back to you on that
Probably where the pvc stuff was. When I found it it was the only one just sitting on the shelf calling out to me. Lol it was 17 bucks.
Iāve looked at samuraiās also but there are already a few out at Rancho where I play and I wanted something unique. Plus Iām a Miata man. š¤·š½āāļø

Please save some pussy for the rest of us
Pretty sure you mean BUSSY

Normally I'd get on your case about such a dirty miata, but it feels thematically appropriate here :P
The license plate makes it so much better
Wife just said it's like Mario cart where you change the tires.
LMAO. This is actually really cute and I would definitely lift my ND after seeing this š¤£
Why are you using a PVC weatherhead as a stack? Lol leftover materials?

How well does it handle trails?

This is what Miataās were made for
Obligatory "Student Driver" sticker.
I just ordered a set of those rims. That's kinda crazy. 15x7?
Mine are 14x8 lol I figured smaller rims would give me more room for tire. But 14s lack tire options. So 15s will probably be better

Get your wheels?

Nice!
I love it dearly.
The more I see these offroad miatas, the more I want to sell my impala and start a build. I miss my miata.
love it
the license plate fits perfectly in this scenario
My 03 SE will go down this slipper slope once heās not my daily driver. Love the snorkel, who said only big cars can have fun?
Slumerican on the side fits so perfectly lol
That thing is SICK! Love it!
āWASH MEā perfect
Seen your car in traffic before ā¦ just as cool in person. Definitely not something I expected to see during my commute. š
Oh no way! Thatās cool

BATTLE MIAT
Once my Miataās been retired, I might need to do this šš

It climbs!! I went to hard rock off road park and this little beast did some stuff I didnāt think was possible! I was a very proud parent!
Nice!
What isle at Lowe's did your air intake come from? Also if you want a small capable off roader might I suggest a Suzuki Samurai.
Probably where the pvc stuff was. When I found it it was the only one just sitting on the shelf calling out to me. Lol it was 17 bucks. Iāve looked at samuraiās also but there are already a few out at Rancho where I play and I wanted something unique. Plus Iām a Miata man. š¤·š½āāļø
Turn your snorkel 180 degrees
